Request: Am I able to use a ps2 guitar hero controller for my ps3?

If so, do I need a converter of some sort? I would like to be able to play Guitar Hero at my up and coming Christmas party, but I sold my PS2 as soon as I bought the PS3 without knowing if it would be compatible. Thanks.

It seems like it'll work. Now I gotta find a deal on it hehe.
