Resident Evil 6 $47.99 on Newegg (72-hour deal)

I really suggest to people considering a pre-order, that they play the 360 demo if at all possible. Unless Capcom fixes a few key issues, the game is borderline broken IMO (mainly the camera is awful).

And no, owning a new copy of Dragon's Dogma is not required to play the demo. Like all 360 demo's, you can burn it to a dvd-r and play it from there. No modding or flashing of the dvd drive required.

Google is your friend.

I did just that a week ago, and I didn't think it was awful, but it wasn't as good as I was hoping. The camera, as you say, is the biggest issue. It sticks on the environment and is jerky as hell. It's a little disorienting. Still as a fan I will buy it, the demo wasn't so bad that I would cancel my pre-order.
Very tempting but I have a feeling it will be $30 or lower at black Friday or closer to Christmas.
I can see it hitting 40, but ill pay 8 bucks more to get it near release. Thanks, grabbed one.

You don't even have to use a DVD. You can use a flash drive and move it to the xbox's own HDD.

But yeah about the camera. My biggest complaint is how much space the characters take up when aiming. They take over half the screen.

Decent deal, probably best straight up price I've seen so far. Best Buy's preorder credit is still better the long run (with the 30-day price match opportunity + $20 in RZGC).

A little OT, but is that okay with microsoft's TOS? I want to try this, but the last thing I want is to have my live account or xbox banned to play a demo.

I don't generally rent games, ever, but it definitely looks like I'll be renting this.

My biggest complaint is the camera when walking and/or aiming. It needs to be pulled back farther behind the character. It's too damn close and you can't see your surroundings all that well. Also I'm not a fan of the crosshairs in addition to the laser sight. Make it one or the other.

I would have been all over this a few weeks ago, but that demo was awful. It's bad enough that the series completely altered its gameplay (imagine Half-Life 3 becoming a RTS--it would be comparable), but everything about the game was so bad. It you're going to turn RE into a straight forward co-op TPS, at least make it good. But based on the demo, it was a low-tier TPS in nearly every way.

Wow, disheartening to hear how bad everyone thinks this demo is.

I still need to beat RE5 anyway, and no way I'm playing this on release when it comes out right after Borderlands 2.

Even though I'm in the same camp as everyone about the demo being bad (except the Leon part; I think it was slightly better than the other parts), I'll bite for $47.99.

Sure, I could get it for cheaper later on but I want to support the video game industry (even though it's Capcom; come on, release a new Monster Hunter for the US!)

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but if you really want to support the industry, at least consider spending your money on a game made by a smaller studio that is trying to do something interesting, rather than buying a game that is simply jumping on the bandwagon of mindless shooters in order to make money for investors, while also destroying a classic series in the process.

I'll wait. Wasn't that impressed with RE5. The co-op was decent, but I absolutely loathed the final battle against Wesker.

It's the same system MS themselves put in place for folks who didn't even have their 360 connected to the internet. The backwards compatibility updates could/can be put on burnable media the same way. It is 100% safe.

That's actually what I did, but I figured people would be less inclined to do it that way, as it's (ever so slighty) the more tech-savvy route.

This game is probably going to blow ass, but I figure if I hate it I can always resell it for what I paid for it with Newegg's deal. I'll have to think about this one.

Well that's just, uh, like your opinion man...

I too will be supporting the franchise. While it has kinda devolved over the past releases (I'm looking at you Raccoon City), it's still an RE game and I wouldn't consider this game "a mindless shooter." it will have an engaging story and I'm sure some pretty kick ass memorable moments.

old ways but this demo is exclusive only so in my book it is bad. there are exceptions but this one is stealing. i aint debating it. it is what it is for this one . enjoy

Resident Evil 4 is my favorite game, and I thoroughly enjoyed RE 5. But the RE 6 demo is awful. RE 6 is likely to be the first main series RE game not purchased by me at launch.

I advise people to play the demo before purchasing.

I agree. I played the demo myself and man it looks nothing like Resident Evil, even the Leon campaign.

I'm definitely gonna pass until the certain $30 BF deal.

I feel exactly the same way. My most anticipated holiday title turned out to be utter garbage. That demo was heartbreaking.

how long do newegg preorders take 2 ship? i want the game but dont want 2 wait a month 4 it 2 come i want it in a week or less after release pleas post in here or pm me if u kno thx....

IMO they need to drop co-op completely. Although there were many things that annoyed me about RE 5, the thing that I absolutely hated was the co-op experience with Sheva (or should I say the "Pack Mull").

Even the segments in RE 4 that consisted of escorting Ashley around was a pain in the ass.

Let's hope that the co-op in Dead Space 3 doesn't completely fuck up that franchise as is the case with the Resident Evil franchise.

I love the RE franchise and I preordered RE6 as soon as Amazon put it up. Don't care what people say about it, RE has been part of my life for the past decade and a half.

Yikes. You guys are making me re-think my pre-order. 4 is my favorite and I enjoyed 5 (when I take RE out of the title), but this sounds like a rental at best.

RE6 was going to be another "must buy" game for me till I played RE:ORC. Releasing that garbage just to make $$$ with the RE brand made me more cautious about buying any future Capcom game. RE6 is now a "must rent" game -_-

Just tried to order the 360 version and I get an error after I go to submit the order saying I cannot use this code and the order does not go through. This happen to anyone else?
