Bestbuy has a separate, two week flier for music gear and they're advertising Rocksmith game bundle+ Epiphone guitar for $199.98 and you get a $50 giftcard with purchase of the game/guitar bundle.

Ad is a bit odd in that they only list sku's for the game bundle and standalone guitar (#2633103, 2633149, 2273055), so they may be doing in-store bundling. Plus they list the game + guitar bundle as a 10 savings over buying everything separate

I'll let the musician CAGs speak to the quality of the guitar;)

Like I said before, seems like they are doing an in-store bundle instead of selling the official Rocksmith guitar kit. Won't know for sure until it's bought

UPDATE #2: deal is definitely an in-store bundle of standalone guitar + game bundle. Guitar is an Epiphone LP jr with a cherryburst finish and no strap or picks are included. Asked about substituting a different guitar model but bundle price won't activate if you switch it out

But I wouldn't use the RB3 Squier as a the only measure of whether you can play guitar. It's a cool piece of tech but not so hot as a regular guitar.

I don't exactly have spiderlegs for fingers either and I've found a way to play guitar. Just takes practice and time. Also a good idea to stretch out your hand and fingers to get things moving easier.

And another thing you'll want to do is try guitars from other brands. You'll eventually start to notice that the frets, string spacing and the neck vary from one brand to another (as well as within the same brand).

Hardest part is knowing what's the right fit and the only way you'll learn is by picking one guitar and using it for a while, then moving on to another model and using it for a while.

I just dont wanna end up spending $300 for the game and guitar and just get bored of it. Even when I bought the prokeys for RB3 it still was just plain boring

Game and guitar is only $200. Worse comes to worse the guitar holds its value so you can sell it off if you don't like it.

Just made a deal with someone to get this game for $30. Hopefully the session mode is as fantastic as you guys make it seem. I read that some people use it to learn a scale all the way up the neck. That would be pretty useful if it's easy to follow

Yes! It takes a lot longer to learn, because you're actually learning guitar. 6 strings and 24 frets, plus learning things like tuning and taking care of the instrument and changing strings. There's really minimal 'game' to it, but it's way fun. I got up to 50 percent on a few songs, and I feel like a master, lol. Nothing like playing expert on RB, nothing.

Not looking for anything fancy. I currently have a little 6" Silvertone amp that came bundled with a cheap bass I bought ten years ago. Looking for a slight upgrade from that, to an 8" or 10" combo amp, and want to keep the price under 70 or 80 bucks, preferably closer to 50 or 60, and this deal seems to fit the bill. Just want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything obvious. Thanks!

How does Nintendo have this right on their Karaoke game and no other games can try to rate specific songs for vulgarity? So frustrating.

Just glad that they never created a version of the Pantera song called, "Very Hostile."

 
They are making it really hard for me to wait for the on demand version...I want almost every dlc released since 2014 came out.

Also PC people have confirmed that Creep is the clean version...sorry no fucks :(

Saw this last night so I was going to try to use the 23% price guarantee at music123 this morning since they still had them priced at $899. That would have taken an extra $87 off and it wouldn't have been a question for me at that point. But when I woke up this morning, music123 had dropped their price to match. Bummed. So I went back to zzounds who supposedly have a best price guarantee. When I submitted the link for them to beat the price, the response I got was that they couldn't beat them and the best price they could give me is $539 (regular price). For some reason that price is only valid for 5 days even though it's not discounted any further.

Another thing I noticed while on my price matching adventures is that music123 doesn't state how much they will beat their competitors by anymore, just that they'll beat any price. You guys know if the 23% off the difference still stands? Maybe they lost a lot of money off things like Akai pedals and Dean Bloodstorm Tyrants

I'm not too sure about Music123. It is owned by the same company that owns Guitar Center, MusicansFriend & WW&B. Guitarcenter has a +10% policy usually. I buy most of my gear from the same guy at Sam Ash, but he was off the morning the sales went live. I contacted Sweetwater in hopes to get a pricematch of the Zzounds and AMS prices, but I was denied. The guy from SW, Brian, was a giant douche. Less than an hour later Sweetwater dropped the prices even lower than Zzounds and AMS. In the end I went with Sam Ash & Zzounds. SA pricematched the deal without any issues & then even pricematched SW price later in the day, but only had 1 of the guitars in stock. I felt guilty so I bought some Schaller Locks, a Hercules Hanger and a strap. I have always had great success with SA. Paul Ash called me once to personally thank me for my business. Zzounds would not match Sweetwaters price. They stated it was below their cost. That is such bs though. Gibson reduced the MAP on 50 different guitars and reduced the DAC to compensate the retailers for liquidating the stock. I'm not complaining though. Those prices are ridiculous. I parted ways w/ a FSR Tele and picked up two Gibsons.

I know MF, WW&B and GC all sell from the same stock because they are the same company. MF put some of the Gibsons on sale, but GC hadn't followed suit earlier in the day. I haven't checked since Thursday.

Zzounds and AMS sell from the same warehouse even though they are different companies. I think Sweetwater may also pull stock from this warehouse too. I'm not 100% sure though.

Edit: GC now has the gits discounted. You have to click the item to see the discount.

Amazon also has begun to drop their prices as well.

Just got my store pickup of 3 JamHub solemix units form Best Buy... They were marked down (probably mistakenly) to 3.97... I used my $10 free code from the BB email a couple of weeks ago... They were originally $75. Thanks, BB - you're gonna turn a $10 gift in $150 in my pocket. :)

I never play it. I always pick up my other Telecaster. I'll never trade or sell the other one, but it made sense to part with this one. I missed having an LP. Everytime I go to the LGS, I always seem to gravitate toward the LPs and fiddle around with them for a while. I thought it was time to pick another one up. Also, I really love the tone I get from the 70's SG. I had guitar envy every time my buddy played his. lol I'm going to try and pick up an American Standard Strat next year. That will be an addition and not a replacement. I spent more time in the shops playing the Strat than the LP, but the Strat wasn't 57% off.

Man.....why oh why. My wallet is screaming obscenities at you right now. Very nice pick-up. The Jaguarillo that someone posted from Amazon is $277 on MF too.

 
Went ahead and ordered a copy at bestbuy with gamer unlocked and 10 reward cert it was only 32 bucks. Now to go pick it up (icy roads :( keeping me in today) and spend my banked microsoft cash on sweet sweet dlc.

Even more confusing is that when you add it to your cart, it knocks $293.39 off making it 305.61. Amazing price, too bad I don't have that kind of extra cash right now thanks to the XB1.

This is an excellent deal & practice amp. Bought 1 for my brother last year and now I'm getting it for about a third of the price. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for posting this. I ordered the Acoustic 10" for $51 on Friday, and now ordered one of these, too. Just couldn't pass at that crazy-low price.

 
Finally got this game today. Right off the bat I can see note detection is a bit better, and the overall presentation is much better. Two problems so far. I've had the game for 2 hours and I'm already avoiding playing songs in  alternate tunings because the in game tuner is absolutely terrible. I don't know how it can be left like this. The other problem came two minutes into the game. I had to unplug my kinect because I couldn't get past the initial tuning when first starting the game. Seems an open D string is like saying the word "Back"

 
Tuning is quick and easy if you do it the right way:

start picking the string over and over, quickly.  adjust the tuning to get close. Once you see single digits, stop paying attention to the number and look at the little green circle instead to fine tune your string. I can tune up or down in about 30 seconds, for a tuning that you have to do all six strings.

 
Yea I caught on to the tuning after watching the needle. It's still a good noticeable bit off from all of my other tuners, but it will do. Only problems now are the kinect and some freezes

Looks like they killed off ALL the hidden deals.

The Emperor Swingster and Dot both sold out. But checked on some other deals I found and those don't have the extra discount either. Makes me wonder if this was a glitch on their side. Guess I'll know for sure if I get my guitar :)
