Samsung LCD Cable Fuzzy Problems!

I have a very bad problem :(
My samsung HDTV is not getting very good quality picture at my dorm.
I never hooked it up with cable at my house so Idk if I did something wrong or not.
Is there any way that you could adjust the settings. It has picture but it has fuzzy buzzy ants creeping on the screen. I want at least some alright quality picture. The cable is hooked up through the wall jack.

probably a bad coax cable or bad signal if its direct to tv(no box). if there are any splitters on the line remove them and see if quality improves. wont be high def without a cable box. also check what stretch feature you have the tv set to. should be called normal, 4:3 or something like that. if any zoom features are selected the picture will be distorted.
 
figured it out. thanks for the suggestions. I have to get a new splitter. one side of it works, which was not connected to my tv, and the other side doesn't which hence gave me the bad picture!
