The old Sears clearance thread was almost a year old, so I've taken the liberty of creating this one. I went back and wrote down the drops and lowest reported prices so far for all of 2007. The games may ring up more or less for you as prices are YMMV (your mileage may vary). The games should ring up at some sort of clearance price at every Sears store that carries games. They may not be tagged on clearance at your store, so you should have them scanned to find out what they ring up as. My local Sears rarely tags the clearance games, so I have to refer to this list. Games drop out of the system about a month after they hit $0.97.

Some clearance games at Sears were restocked over the holidays with new UPC stickers over the original UPC. These are ringing up $9.99-$19.99 as marked for now.

These prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand stores.

Lowest reported prices (games may ring up less or more at your store):

If you have a new game or lower price to list, post it here and I'll update the OP periodically. Even if a game is only a few dollars off, please report it here. The price WILL drop on a regular basis. When reporting a price, please give us the game title AND system.

Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103736

In my experience, the list of clearance games at Sears isn't YMMV, but the specific clearance prices are (prices drop at different speeds at different stores. Also, people keep complaining that the clearance games are ringing up $15-20 at their stores. If they would actually read this post, they'd know that's because those are restocked holiday games with new UPC tags. The old stock of those games should still ring up on clearance if you can find them.

And because people can't read, I'll say it again:

PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!

WOW!!

just got back from sears.

And they had posted a $5 sign for every game in the clearance bin.

I was able to snag

Elite beat agents X2
the snk/capcom fighter card game
kingdom hearts 2
WTF
ape escape academy
metal gear solid 3 subistence
sly 3

everything else was pretty much picked over.

but not bad for $5 a piece!!

the games rang up regular price (eba rang up $23) I just told the guy they were in the $5 bin and he manual overidded the price. no problems!!

this may be Ymmy

but worth checking out!

Thats freaking awesome! Wish my stupid sears had these at those prices.

No such luck in Indianapolis. My store has most of those games in the clearance display box, but the ones I checked (CvS Card Fighters, EBA, KH2) all rang up at their list prices ($23.97, $23.97, $19.99 respectively). I was hoping against hope that I'd get the same price on Card Fighters... that's about what I'd be willing to pay for it.

Took my old receipt and got a price adjust for MGS Subsistence - $13.97.
I've never price adjusted at Sears before and there was no information about their price guarantee on any of my receipts. How long do you have to price adjust? It can't possibly be the same as the return time frame, can it?
Something to keep in mind before you buy the clearanced XBL sub cards!!

It appears the .99 cent 1 month & 12 month gold package (I paid $23.97 I think) have expiration dates of 6/30/07. I tried them both with no success. Now I have to return this crap...
I've never had any problems extending my current XBL account with the expired 1-month cards. Were you trying to start a new subscription?

No go on getting cheap games but here's my haul for the evening:
DSC02552.jpg

My store (the one in Antioch Center for you Kansas City CAGs) had a cart with a bunch of PSP accessories in it behind the discount game bins. I figured they were being clearanced so I asked the dude at the electronics counter to scan em' Here's what they rang up:

PSP Battery Charger = $7.97
PSP Batteries = $7.97 x4
PSP Headset = $4.97
PSP Pouch w/ Wrist Strap = $3.97

Total spent $48.79 + tax!

They still had a couple batteries, some battery chargers, at least one pouch, a Sony brand car charger, and Sony brand AC Adapter (didn't check the prices on the last two items).
Nice, does that charger work with the older model batteries as well?
They're all PSP phat accessories (batteries and charger). Now if I could just find the PSP slim video cables on clearance... (yeah I know it will be a long time for that...)

It can't possibly be the same as the return time frame, can it?
Yeah, I assume it has to be within their return period since there isn't any fine print about adjustments. For video games, it's 14 days and not 90/30 days like their other merchandise.

For MGS Subsistence, it wasn't a price adjustment but a pricematch from a different Sears. I just showed them my old receipt (with the lower price) from Sears #1 and Sears #2 sold their copies to me for that price. It will need a manager's approval (card swipe), but she did it, no questions asked. It's pretty easy and you can go to any register, not just electronics.

tonight i went to sears(colonie center)Albany,ny and bought the last 2 game boy players at 11.97 each plus project gotham racing-xb for .97

Aww crap.

I just tried this today for more of the 12 month OG Xbox sub cards and was denied with the receipt from the $11 card I picked up.

Manager told me that Sears Price Match policy only applied to competitors, not other Sears:bomb:

the one here had a lot of psp accessories still, if anyone wanted me to grab them for them at cost plus shipping. They also had a sealed set of DDR pads for PS2 for $25 if anyone was interested.

I saw lots of good prices on PSP & DS accessories today at Kmart. They pretty much had every PSP accessory you could imagine. Saw $1.00 car adaptors for DS Lite too.

Just wanted to mention that if you're Sears doesn't have any good accessories and you need some.

But, the people who told me about bringing in another receipt to pricematch was a manager in electronics and then a cashier from the registers in between housewares and electronics.

Scored great today at our Sears. Got DDR Mario Mix with the dance pad for $21. I couldn't BELIEVE that....neither could the guy that rang me up....he seemed upset that he didn't see it before I bought it.

The Medford, NJ Sears Essentials has some...interesting yellow tag clearance prices:

They're in a aisle bin in front of the electronics department. Lots of PSP games being clearanced as well.

got a viva pinata 360 faceplate for $1.97 today, and also the PSP battery charger for $7.97. I really wanted that PSP battery charger for a while just couldn't find it cheap anywhere until today. Thank you CAG!

I hit three different Sears this week, each with varying success and good finds.

Super Mario Strikers (GC) - $15.97

Sears is starting to become my favorite place to pick up clearanced games ;)

Are you guys finding these in a specific area or are you taking them to the register and they ring up on clearance? My store still has the "$19.99 & under bin" everything on there is marked pretty close to $19.99.

Each store is different. One had the games still in the glass case while the others had them in the bargain game bins in the Electronics section.

Well shit...

I paid double for both of those... Still worth it though. Got Moto GP (360) for $4 too...

your best bet is the stores that alow you to remove products from the electronics department and using the price checkers randomly placed around the store... I may go back to my local store tomorrow and see if they still have any MGS3:S because they finally dropped the price at that place to $14.97 and I got it but if it dropped again I want the difference....

Or will they not price match clearance prices?

Thanks

Went to another one and got a PS2 controller for $3, the PSP USB charger for $3, and Ape Escape 3 for $3. I also saw a PS2 remote for $1.50 and some 360 HDs for $60

Went to another and got a Ps2 controller, Ape Escape 3, and a USB charger for PSP for $12. Also had 360 HDs for $60

If anyone wants to trade a MotoGP 06 for Tiger Woods 06, I'm all ears :)

Only had a glance at the prices at the Sears in Santa Maria, CA (Central Coast). All the games were locked up in cases, so I didn't get to price check them. If I get the chance to go by there again tomorrow, I'll post more of what I see.

Viva Pinata Faceplate: ~$10
Blue Squiggly Faceplate: $3.97
Intec 360 Stand & Cooler: ~$12
Saw Clearance stickers on a lot of PSP gear.

I also saw clearance stickers on a few 360 games, but nothing jumped out at me as a good deal. Then again, I didn't get to price check anything, yet.

I'm heading back down to LA tomorrow, so I'll see about going by the Sears in Glendale either Monday or Tuesday.

Edit: Grammar.

Had an interesting find today. One Sears I went to had a bin of random clearance stuff in the electronics section. Mostly crap, but I noticed one little gem that hasn't been mentioned previously:

Mario Party 7 w/ microphone - marked with an Aug clearance sticker of $25.97, but rang up as $19.97

There was a tear on one side where it looked like somebody did a poor job of removing a sticker, but otherwise it looks brand new. The circular seal is still intact on the outer box.

Only decent score was non-PH DOA 4 for $13:bouncy:
I am so envious right now of the people that got DOA 4 at cheap prices.

If you guys could get me a DOA 4, I would greatly appreciate it. I can either do paypal or trade

I can't believe you people are still finding DDR Mario Mix! That's pretty rare & I've never seen one yet & I've been to about 10 different sears.

Geez Louise...you guys swear you arent making this up? I went to all 4 Richmond area Sears stores and everything is still scanning at $21.97 or $31.97. The ONLY deal I saw was Ape Escape 3 for around $5.

on a whim, I went back yesterday to get myself a $4 psp case w/ wrist strap wile Iwas waiting for a job meeting, when I found they still had 1 copy of Chibi- Robo left. I scanned it and it said $5.97, so I grabbed that too.

Going back tomorrow while I'm inquiring about that job again.

I've picked up a lot of good stuff in the last couple of weeks. I got Mario & Luigi: PiT for $3.97, three Xbox 360 live 12-month subscriptions (the one that expired in June, but should still work) for $20.97 each, Dead or Alive 4 for $13.97, and tonight I got two original Xbox 12-month live kits (the one with Crimson Skies) for $18 each. Those last ones are an odd price because they were out of the system and the manager offered them to me for that amount. I think I bought too many Live subscriptions. ;)

Got 3 of the the same old Xb kits a year ago for 9.97

I went to the Sears in south San Antonio today.

Found a tiny display of horrible GBA games. But I did manage to find Dragonball Advanced Adventure for $9.99.

I would have loved to get Mario&Luigi but I only saw one DS game and I think it was Charlette's Web.

I also picked up Fire Emblem for the GameCube for $9.97

The eye toy for $4.97. The box wasn't even damaged, and I got the last one they had.

Also bought an original xbox live 12-month card for $9.97.

They had 4 copies of DOA 4 left, one copy of Splinter Cell for the 360, and about 3 different poker games. They had PSP accesories, DS starter kits, and the rest were just a few 3rd party wireless controllers for around $30.

I saw about 14 other Gamecube games but they were behind the glass. I didn't ask how much they were, but none of them piqued my interest.

DDR Extreme bundle (big box) for $18.97

To Josef and donut... godDAMN on your scores!! Jealous.

I stopped in the closest sears to me today...the damn Xbox Live 12 month Cards that come with the live headset bag are still ringing up $39.97. They have been for a fucking year at this point. Everything else was $7-10 higher than the reported lows. Not Surprised though...this Sears is notoriously slow.
