EDIT: Okay so apparently, you don't even need to purchase a DVD or anything else to get these 300 Preview discs for free! Just have the clerk ring them up (they will each say $9.99), and when he/she is done, the window will pop up telling him/her there is a special deal, he/she will hit enter, and the price will drop to $0.00 for these discs! You may need a cool clerk who won't stop you from getting away with this, though. And again, I wouldn't recommend trying to take every single one - too much risk and hoarding sucks! Please just take a couple.

Free movie ticket in each one (and of course, at the multiplex, if you want to go into another theater and see something other than 300, that is another option...but come on, 300 is going to be AWESOME) along with a preview disc.

/EDIT

I posted this under the BB BOGO DVD glitch thread, but figured some people may not be interested in those DVDs but may still want the 300 preview discs (including the free movie cash) and also for those whose BB stores didn't put out the 300 discs until today.

I did this twice yesterday, once at lunchtime and once after work, so it was working as of yesterday's COB. Here's the deal. The 300 Preview discs are free with any DVD purchase, and is supposed to be 1 free 300 disc w/ every 1 DVD you purchase (I've also heard some stores limit it to 1 free 300 disc per customer), but at checkout, as long as you have any DVD rung up, ALL the 300 discs become free.

I'm betting a LOT of this will depend on whether or not you get a cool checkout clerk who will let this happen, but as far as their computer system goes, the discs are not tallied up and compared 1 to 1. You may even get a clerk that doesn't bother scanning the 300 discs and just throws them in the bag.

Meaning you can go and find the cheapest DVD that Best Buy has, and grab 2 or 3 (don't be greedy!) of the 300 discs, and they will all come out free. I do not recommend going overboard with this and grabbing every single 300 disc in the store, but if you want to buy a DVD and grab 2 copies of the 300 disc to take a date, this is the ideal method. PLEASE DO NOT HOARD.

As you are checking out, give the clerk the DVD you are purchasing first. It will ring up. Then give him the 300 discs, if there is any problem say "oh according to the ad, these are free...please ring them up for me." Each one will come up as 9.99 but the "special deal" window will pop up and after the clerk hits enter/return, each one will go to 0.00.

Thanks to Polly for providing us with the link on where the 300 free movie money/ticket (good for up to $10.50) can be used:

Went and saw this today, I really enjoyed it. Definitely worth the $7.00 or so to buy the DVD to get the 3 free tickets to go see it. :applause:

Yes, this movie kicked ass...esp. for free. I'd even recommend actually paying for it, which is more than I can say about half the crap they throw at us.

Just got Peter pan (DVD) which got me a third ticket to the movie. I saw it last night and plan to go again tonight. Fantastic movie to say the least.

The deal is still going on, right?

I think my brother and I might go pick up a couple DVD's tomorrow since we were planning on seeing 300 sometime this week. It basically is free DVD's. ^_^

Nice find.
It might... but good luck. These things have become impossible find because of hoarders.
Orange, CT. still had about 10 left after I left with my three last night.

I'm not a hoarder but I do buy a lot of DVDs and gave away all but 2 to friends / co-workers.

I'll probably give these three away as well unless I want to see movie for a second time (was going to go yesterday but my business partner couldn't make it).

are these still free with purchase of dvd? Or do you have to buy them now? I noticed they dropped the price to $5 online (last i saw it was $10), but it's not advertised in this week's ad. Still though for $5 it's still cheaper than a regular movie ticket lol.

I checked last week at a store that supposedly had it in stock (according to the online stock checker), but when I went, they said they were all out. ....Yet as I check the stock again at that same store right this very moment it's still shows as in stock. Hmm....

Well, I think we all picked up several copies. By hoarding, I mean grabbing like 20 of them and trying to hawk them on eBay or elsewhere.

I picked up 3 myself, and went and saw 300. I kind of wish I picked up more, since you can use them to see other movies as well.
Is there an expiration date on the ticket? How long are the tickets good for?
I believe they are good until April, 9th.
I kind of wish I picked up more, since you can use them to see other movies as well.
I've heard a few people say this; do you just mean go in for 300 but just go into a different room? Or will the theater usually just let you use it for whatever?

for those of you who've tried to use the ticket at iMax was it a relatively painless process of asking them to just let you pay the difference? Or did you have to go the roundabout way and ask them to buy a normal ticket and then upgrade blah blah like Pooky said earlier?

my roomate used two movie checks and they gave him a ticket. He said it was pain free when he did it but it's probably very YMMV.
have they been restocking these things? or is it too late for me...
I do not believe they have restocked these DVDs but you still might get lucky and find them at your local store.
How does it look like and where did they usually put it?
Agreed. Very good question as I want to check this out myself.

I found the DVD case on a stand near where the DVD's are kept. They were surrounded with DVDs that were on sale. I just took a pic of the DVD case from my phone and i'll upload it when it arrives.

EDIT: Here is the dvd box case. The size is too big but i have no idea how to reformat it.

Just to let all of CAG know, these tickets are "guaranteed" and if you were refused, you can send it back and receive a $10.50 check from what I understand.

Man lawdood...... I wish I got to go with you to see this. My business partner is tied up until at least Thursday at which point I may be back on schedule at second job.

Mind posting the UPC on the back?
Thanks a bunch!

I got refused, and had to pay late night prices because they counted the ticket as a 'pass' and as a new movie there is a 'no passes' policy. What's the procedure for the sending back?
For whatever it's worth, I noticed the 300 discs were priced at $4.99 at my local Best Buys, I don't think they're free anymore though.
Yeah, they scan at $4.99, but they are still free when purchasing a DVD. I got mine last Saturday with Casino Royale.

Still, $4.99 + tax for a movie ticket is not too shabby
Where can I find the ad in case I need to show them that it is free?
The ad was from a couple of weeks ago, before the movie came out. I believe it was from the ad for the last week of Feb/first week of March. Check the Dead deals page.
Can I use this ticket to go see another movie?
Not explicitly. Buy a ticket to 300 in advance, then exchange it later. always worked for me, ticket still says $9.75 price on it.

when i went to go see 300 imax I think I got lucky cuz the guy just gave me a ticket and that was it, even though an imax ticket cost more than what the max value of the voucher was for.
