I would advise that you call the store as some stores at 10/03, 10/04 or 10/05. For example, the store in Buffalo, NY starts 10/05.

IS it true the stores closing are sending all product valued over $18.99 to the ones not closing? Just wondering if the stores not closing will be looking a lot better inventory wise very soon...

I would advise you guys to call the store and ask just how much stock they have left that they haven't shipped out yet. Unless you live next door to a GC, it is probably best to call so not to waste any time.
 
Liquidation is now officially starting on Monday, October 5th and will run to October 18th I believe. Unfortunately, it will only be 30% off for this entire period. The update on the intranet did not specify what the liquidation discounts would be for the final week. Also, the discounts are not automatic - employees have to scan a coupon to get the 30% off. You shouldn't have a problem with this though since stores are getting a window vinyl stating the liquidation.
 
I'm getting dicked around by the Vallejo, CA and Benicia, CA stores.
I've heard that they are both closing, that only one of them is closing, and that neither of them are closing, from a few different employees, and managers, over the past few days. So, it sounds to me like some Game Crazy employees are fighting to keep their stores open. Or, they're trying to hoard the best games for themselves, as some people in this thread are implying.

I'm just going to call up tomarrow or on the 5th. I am mainly looking for some ds rpgs and Uncharted.

Even if the sale isn't starting in my local GC's until Monday, they still have awesome deals on games right now, and i'm an MVP... so 10% is still savings.

holy hell i don't know how many times I have to CONFIRM THIS. YES. Nearly ALL product over $18.99 is going to stores that aren't closing. There MIGHT be some deals to be had, but I seriously doubt it. I seriously spent the past three days shipping shit out ALL DAY. I shipped out over two thousand items. I'm pooped.

Aren't you almost getting B2G1 free, if you're buying three+ games? XD Anyway, I'd doubt it... Seems like not even MVP discounts are being used for the liquidations.

On another note, does the B2G1 coupon have a barcode on it or anything, or does it just have a code or whatever? Because if it's the latter, some CAGs (including me) would love you forever if you made some scans. :3

I've been to a few stores that have shipped out everything and they had plenty of items above $18.99. Are they mispriced?

that defeats the purpose of a sale and the store closing. 10% off with mvp can be done anytime within an open gamecrazy. this is for markdowns and to save more than the usual standard 10% off.

It has a barcode. Is posting scans of it against the rules?
 
I was driving by the one by my house today and they were in deed packing up all the good stuff. I went in and scored a ton of pennied out hint guides and saw that they were pretty much packing up anything made in the last 2 years.

Also, the store I went to said it starts monday and that he would hold items for me until it hits the cheapest price possible. Awesome.

Actually it doesn't, because some people have almost every Game Crazy in their area closing, and if they want good deals, they need to go as soon as possible, even if the 30% doesn't start until monday. Because, considering how fast stuff is being shipped to the stores that are going to stay open, there may not be anything good to buy, in about a week.

It would be nice if you could, but I don't think so... Otherwise people wouldn't be making such a fuss about being practically forced credit onto gift cards. :/

Also, I'm still in fascination of this B2G1 free coupon. Where and/or how did you get it? And are you sure it's not expired yet or anything?

I don't know if you guys were sitting in on that conference call, but it was bullshit. It was literally a fluff call, nothing more than a "this is for the greater good!" speech.
 
Well, passed by my Game Crazy (Medford, OR) on my way to Taco Bell tonight only to find that they cleared the store out already. So no discount deals for me, as usual.

I work for Game Crazy in Severna Park, Md, and we found out on Monday that we will be closing in 4 weeks (from monday). Corporate sent us a pull sheet on Tuesday morning, so us unmotivated employees started the pull. The majority of the product was going to 1 store, but a lot of it was going to the DC. We had about 12 boxes done (5 for the store, and 7 for DC) Then, Wednesday morning, we get another pull sheet. Everything from the first pull sheet was on this pull sheet.....and going to a different store......(OOPS....their f*%k up.) Keep in mind, they want all this product out of the store by close Friday evening. This gives us more work, because now we have to cross reference everything to see if its been sent already. Yesterday, my boss gets a text from another store manager whose store is closing also stating that we have until Sunday at close now to complete the pull. So for all of you who were planning on taking advantage of the deals on Saturday....save gas and time and don't come until Monday, because nothings gonna be on sale yet. I'm not sure if this is nationwide, or just in our region or district. To be honest with you all, there is going to be NOTHING WORTH ANYTHING left in our stores. I think we have about 10 new PS3 games on the shelf. I know one thing I'm gonna pick up is the Fallout 3 strategy guide, but there are no systems, 360 hard drives, or anything of value. I think we're even gonna be selling the racks!!

GAME CRAZY IS A SINKING SHIP!!!! IF YOU READ THIS AND YOU WORK THERE, GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!

There are 4 Gamestops within 5 miles from my store, and I dropped off my application at one yesterday, so wish me luck!!!

If anyone has any questions, post on here and I'll get to them asap.

Call another Game Crazy and ask for the number to corporate. I would give it to you here, but I don't know it off hand. If you have store credit, they will issue you a gift card that is redeemable at Hollywood Video, or another Game Crazy.

NO it won't work.....you can't stack coupons, and you can't use coupons with the liquidation
 
Hey redace, you stated in your first message that your store manager received a text telling you you all had until Sunday to ship everything out, right? But don't you think there might be stores who already have everything shipped out, and could start the liquidations today? I know there are a couple CAGs who stated they went by yesterday evening and were confirmed by a closing store's employee(s) that their liquidation is starting Saturday.

I REALLY wish Game Crazy stores had decided this earlier. Because I can see a lot of people driving out an hour+ to a Game Crazy store, only to find out the sale starts in two more days. And on the other hand, I can see another portion of people waiting until Monday, driving out then, and arriving at a cleaned out store, finding out they started the liquidation on Saturday. >:/
 
Walked to the one in Newport News, VA on Warwick. Turns out its not closing, contrary to the list. So if they get the date down, don't bother going to it.

As of closing (8PM) last night, the stores in our district are starting liquidation on Monday, October 5, and the last day of operation is Monday, Oct, 26.

What's everyone else doing? It's an hour and a half drive to the closest closing store for me, and I want to get there at opening if they're having the sale today. But I don't want to drive an hour and a half and waste half a tank of gas to find out the sale starts Monday. So... I guess the best thing to do is to keep calling until I get in touch with somebody from the closing store, and wait for confirmation from him before I leave. T_T; But I'd imagine employees aren't going to be there until maybe... Like... 10 minutes before the store opens...

If you know someone who works at Game Crazy, ask them to stash some good stuff for you for the sale!! What do they have to lose.....their job......lol.
 
I think what really pushed us over the edge was them buying a buttload of copies of Madden 10 and Fight Night Round 4. I know a lot of stores sold the hell out of them, but ours personally, and a LOT of others didn't move crap!!

Yeah, I just spoke with my Game Crazy guy who is losing his job to this crap, and he told me like Redace72374 was saying, that everything "good" and of value to us gamers are being shipped out of these closing stores right now. So when they start the "Liquidation Sale", there will only be a bunch of CAG's rushing over there only to find a bunch of Perfect Dark Zero, Guitar Hero II, Big Bumpin', Pocketbike Racer, and Sneak King games at a whopping 30% off. I'll be saving my gas and time spent in a crowd of disappointed CAG'ers!!
