I'm pretty sure it has the dreaded Ubisoft always-on DRM scheme.

Hmm, yeah even at that price I think I will pass due to obligatory heinous Ubi DRM.

They released a DRM free version of Settlers 6 to Amazon so hopefully at some point down the road they will do it with Settlers 7 as well.
