Shopping for flat screen tv and tv stand

I still have a old big type tv it's OK, but heavy.

I'm hoping to eventually upgrade to an flat screen at least 20 or 30" kind maybe 40".

Right now I'm checking prices for deals and checking out brands..

My paren't last tv which was a big box type tv was toshiba lasted long time till mom scored a 20"  flat screen which is philips not sure if it is a good brands. Has a tiny spot size of a ant on screen luckily small enough doesn't bother me.. At least it was free.

What brand do you guys/gals use? I never gone TV shopping before.

I'm mainly using it for casual TV watching and playing wii u and ps3.

Also TV stands what kind is best to use for flat screen and two game systems? I've seen various ones some look nice, but ones where they show game system or box in a shelf or closed in glass door.

Would the wii u or ps3 have issues with air circulation and heat if it's in that type of cabinat?

(Great TV btw!) For around 900+ tax at best buy. I believe it was around 1500 at that time. Plus tax at best buy. Best of luck to ya.
