So I am looking for a HDTV (LCD) in the 27"-32" range, and I found this. It's an Emprex 32" LCD HDTV for $399 or $421 shipped for me. I plan on using the TV for mainly video gaming (like single player and 4P games). I plan on getting a 360 and/or PS3 down the road, and currently have a Wii, PS2, and Xbox.

So the question is, do you think this is a decent TV for my needs? I may watch movies occasionally. Also, I've heard about Guitar Hero lagging on HDTV's and seen it first hand. Is there a way to determine if this TV has this problem just by looking at the specifications on this product?

Oh yeah, like many of you, I've never heard of this brand.

Edit: Forgot to mention I'm currently using a 20" Hisense TV (CRT). So yeah, it's nothing special.

Probably not a "bad buy." I saw a 26" Syntax on clearance at Kmart. Might be worth a try on that first, since its likely $100 (& up) less expensive. In time you'll probably want to upgrade from either, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I paid $475 after tax for a 32" Envision LCD and I'm very satisfied. I really doubt I would've got any better picture from a Westinghouse or other.

If that's your price limit then go for it, if you are willing to spend more then do so for sure.

Also maybe wait until Black Friday and see what's on sale then if you aren't in a hurry to get one.

I guess my price limit is $450, and I know I can't get any high-end TV's for that price, but that's fine with me.

Now that I think of it, Black Friday is only 2 months away. I guess I'll wait for that. The only problem with BF is fighting with the crowd. Oh well, either way these things should be even cheaper by then. Thanks for your input guys.
