It seems like most of the new Falcons are coming with the Hitachi drive (at least those with 175W on the box). I believe someone said that is because BenQ could not meet manufacturing demand. Does anyone have any information that backs that statement up?
So what do you think is the best combination, Zephyr chipset with BenQ drive or Falcon chipset with Hitachi drive?
Right now I have the Zephyr with BenQ, but I am thinking about returning it for a Falcon when my store gets them back in stock. I know there are two sides of the issue, one that says having a Falcon is pointless since that doesn’t solve the main problem, and those who will keep returning until they get a Falcon. It seems like to me that any reduction in heat will help solve it, but not sure I want a Hitachi. The main problem with them is that the drive is loud, right? Does the Hitachi have a stronger history of scratching games or does BenQ?
