you get "gametrailer dollars" for things you do on the website. These are the things you can get money doing:

Watching Movies: $1.00 GTD
Views Your User Movies Earn: $0.02 GTD (per view)
Writing Comments: $0.20 GTD
Writing Blogs: $5.00 GTD
Thumb Ratings: $0.10 GTD
Ratings of You by Others: $0.10 GTD (per level of rater)


with this money you can buy things in the marketplace. There are some games that you can get for like $4500 but newer games are like $10000. It takes a while but it's definately worth it.
