I searched every other system, and the only on sale game they had left was Madden 05 (PS2) for $1.99, but I didn't get it. Looks like I got the last of the deals in my area :) I wish I could have gotten Generation of Chaos for PSP, but oh well. Oh, and I am from the Canton Ohio area...also checked the Akron, OH area, but they didn't have anything...

Greenbrier was barren except for a few real clunkers that I don't remember and the games in the $9.99 promo racks near the registers. FWIW, the games in those racks were as follows:

Hold on a second now. One of the managers said it wouldnt work with because the games were 4.99, it shouldnt take taxes off. Needless to say manager wouldnt let me use a coupon. Same guy that wouldnt let me use a coupon for FF3 and FFVI when one could get them for $20 each

I drove to the nearest Best Buy (around an hour away) and it had squat. I only managed to get DoA Ultimate, but that wasn't even one of the games I really wanted. The main ones I would have really liked to have bought would've been Super Monkeyball and Chibi Robo for the Cube..among others.

Dah well.

went to one best buy in Riverside/Moreno valley and got nothing! Employees said all the early birds hoarders got em.

I knew I should have went at 10am but that best buy is in the middle of the desert so who knew.

I picked up Star Ocean 3 from the Santana Row BB for $20 on Sunday and then price adjusted to $5 today and I got a Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas from the El Camino BB. Also, on Sunday, I found plenty of Sigma Star Sagas and GTA:SA's, and one Prince of Persia 3 for the PS2, but I couldn't find any of them except for one misplaced GTA:SA. San Andreas rang up for $20, but apparently, there's a typo on the sheet everyone got and the SKU is missing its very first number. I would have gotten the somewhat plentiful GTA:SA's at Santana Row if I had found out about the error earlier. If you want to get San Andreas, you should tell them that the SKU was entered in incorrectly into the system and find the game on the list and show them how it's only off by one number. Thanks a bunch to Nick from the El Camino BB for helping me with that!

Also, I just read through some of the posts here, and I'll confirm that the sale works for GH games as well. Both my Star Ocean 3 and GTA:SA are GH.
 
Sacramento stores were pretty much cleaned out I got tomb raider for psp and FF for 360 at the natomas one and college hoops 2k6 for 360 at citrus heights. folsom and roseville were completely wiped out before 11am when I got there. They did have the placeholders up with the cheap prices, so stuff was obviously there, but must have been gone as soon as they opened

Got to BB about an hour and a half after opening, and got Monster Hunter Freedom, XMen Legends, and Chronicles of Narnia (heard it was a competent $2 game). I was hoping to find Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow or We Love Katamari, as I saw them there before, but no luck. I was surprised to find MHF, especially sitting out in the open, after seeing someone checkout with a dozen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a dozen World Championship Poker, and miscelaneous odds and ends.

Didn't realize that the DDRU3 bundles were also 1.99, as I think I saw a few. Though, with all of the people walking around with lists, and the quote I got from the employee, they must not be marked as clearance. I'll probably check them out tomorrow.

You got lucky with that Tomb raider PSP. I was at Natomas around 10:15AM and there was some non-English speaking Asian lady walking up and down the aisles talking loudly to someone on her cell phone. She swiped up all the on sale PSP games, walked around a bit with them, before finally dropping them all back on the shelves. She then kept going through just about every game looking for others on sale. Don't know why she decided not to get the PSP games...perhaps she figured that brcause they were $9.99, they wouldn't fetch enough at Denio's flea market or something.
 
hmm, suprisingly got there at 3 this afternoon and got 3 games, the best one being Godfather CE for Xbox. They still had a bunch of lesser quality titles and a lot of empty $1.99 placecards.
 
THANK YOU OP BK!!! I went to 2 stores today and found some good games. There was an employee in the Kendall, FL location that was very helpful in checking prices. There were several CAGs there with lists and the employee had a portable gun to check prices for all of us. Everyone was very helpful and shared. This was a great post!

Also the employees were really cool. They were pulling stuff out of the backroom to let everyone look through the stock.
 
I haven't read this whole thread, but I just wanted to say as a mostly old timey CAG, I miss the good old days. The CC $5 sale cooked for a good day or so before being completely devoured. I got great stuff when I popped in to my local store, and that was with some competition from another site or two.

But now, everyone and their moms is in on marked down games. People calling, people hoarding, competition just seems so much stiffer these days.

I still got 3 games I wanted, and saw a few on the shelves that I didn't care about, but the hype at one store was off the charts.

Am I just having too fond of memories of the $5 CC sale? Or does anyone else experience this same phenomenon?

Afterwards, he THEN asked about return rebuy, but the manager interceded and said that the store had to hold them for 24 hours before they could resell them, so the guy got pissed and left. The games hadnt made it back ont he floor yet, so as a bonus I got:

Vice, there's definitely something to be said for the days that you knew about a sale before anyone else, and had your pick of games. I don't remember the specific CC $5 sale you're talking about (when was it?) but I can remember a few big clearances and such that were pretty easy pickings. This one was a lot of work, and I am pretty lucky with BBs near me.

I don't like how this one got out of control so early, and people behaving bizarrely (calling the stores 3 days in advance demanding details, being jerks to the staff, etc) doesn't help.

I do like the point that, with one post, braziliankid050 pretty much took over the Internet. Or at least every deals site. I don't think any one single post has gotten so many people to do so much shopping as this one. ;)
 
Working sucked @ 12. Everything was a mess and the girl working when we opened had no clue about the sale so she didn't stock anything and left it all for me. It got really annoying repeating that all the games were taken and shit, but it made my shift go by faster. And damn did all the geeks come out today. Everything from fatasses to annoying dorks.

I held onto Mega Man X Collection ($9.99) for PS2 but gave it to another co-workers and I got True Crimes: New York City CE ($4.99) on Xbox.

Just got back from BB #890 in Atlanta and it had nearly been cleared out. The little tags where things had been were up and I missed out on a few games I wanted like Pikmin. However, alot of the games were not tagged and I had remembered most of the things on the list luckily so I was able to pick them out. Some games were not marked correctly like Urban Reign which still rang up at 10 bucks. Anywho, Here's my haul:

Hey dickhead, the difference is that I leave at least one copy of each item behind and if you note my list didnt get more than 3 of any item. Ive seen splitstone buy 20 copys of Pikmin 2 from Sears, and thats not an exaggeration, and they dont even take the sears stickers off of them. Also, they do shit like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120071964401, whereas I have plenty of people on this and other sites that can vouch for me selling items for cost plus shipping, meeting CAGers in person to sell items for cost only, and even sending out pennied out guides for free.
