Hi, i was born after most of the older systems (nes, snes, etc) but recently have been wanting to get some to play all of the classics and start a small collection. My question is are nes games compatible in a snes? If so that would be great because i could just get the snes and get the games i want. Thanks for the help!

No, not at all. You'll need separate systems.

Honestly, you can find dirty, albeit working, NES games at any number of places. Cleaning them out isn't a big deal though.

look towards the bottom of the FAQ for a quick runthrough on how to clean them... It's a lot easier than what you'd think

I've yet to find any NES games at all, but no there not compatible. The NES games are not super enough to handle the system.

Apparently, it was originally going to be backwards compatible, but it was scrapped last minute to save costs.

But there is the Tristar adapter for N64. With this you can play SNES and NES games on your N64.

You can take a look at it here:

But this thing is a pain in the ass to find. The last time I saw it was in an ad in a video game magazine a few years ago. And it was almost as expensive as the N64 itself.

So I guess your options are buying both a NES and a SNES or buy the Wii and hope for Virtual Console releases
