SOE's looking for an EQII model...

tauruskatt

CAGiversary!
Anyone think I'm crazy for thinking about doing this?

http://questforantonia.station.sony.com/en/index.vm

I got the flyer for it at E3 this week, and thought, damn, there's going to be girls entering that don't have a *clue* what the game is or who the character is, they'll just enter because their agent tells them too, and the thought frustrates me. greatly. :bomb:

I actually PLAYED EQII for a solid block of a few months, and have been planning on picking it back up with the price drop to $30, but then the price drop got delayed and I had plane tickets for the trip and an xbox 360 preorder to pay for.

In any case, I also like to sew/cosplay in my spare time, and have a photoshoot for my costumes planned this summer with a photographer friend of mine, so it's not going out of my way and I'd easily get some use out of an Antonia Bayle cosplay, which was on my list of future potential costumes already. ^^

opinions, reactions?...could I count on some CAG votes if I enter?
No, you are not crazy. I don't think you look like her though. However, I don't mean that as an insult, I think you are a very beautiful girl. You just have different look. Maybe it's your cheeks or hair or something.

Edit: Yes, you have my vote if they do that sort of thing.

I think you could hold your own, you certainly have the dress-up experience.;)
CAG all the way, you have my vote.
By the way, you are a female, right?
 ya it's not open to guys. =P
No, you are not crazy. I don't think you look like her though. However, I don't mean that as an insult, I think you are very beautiful girl. You just have different look. Maybe it's your cheeks or hair or something.
Yeah, I know...that's a concern of mine mildly, I don't think I strikingly resemble her, but I do have similar coloring and body type at least (although my boobs aren't that big, lol, she's still CG in that respect). It would be something for fun and besides, a little makeup applied correctly can do suprising things.

While your facial structure does differ somewhat, it's still a far closer match than I've seen some movies make.
Also, make sure to send us pics first so we can.. um... review them. ;)
:shame: Bad idea.
We all remember what happened the last time someone asked for pictures from another CAG. That just didn't end well.

I don't think it's much of a debate as to whether you'll have CAGs' support, but you've got my vote anyway. Besides, if cosplay is your thing then you'll surely do better than everyone else due to your passion for it, and your obvious experience alone would be enough to kick all those fakes in the...nuts?

Edit: Just saw the picture; You've got this one.

I think you should certainly give it a go. I think you look very similar to the character, and the fact that you are a fan of and have actually played the may give you a leg up on some others. Besides if you enjoy cosplay and modeling then it seems like a really good fit.

that pic of the girl for EQ looks like brooke burke (sp?)

anyway, if that's you in your sig, i think you would do well & i would vote for you

Yes it was all the pictures.
And here I thought it was a personality clash.
Hey, it all started out innocously enough with a simple "pics? " post...
not to mention that just about everyone likes tauruskatt.
I doubt it would end well for anyone trying to spark off anything.

Note to self: Use more emoticons. That earlier post should have had a ;) or a  at the end of it.

Just as long as it wasn't another post to extol Sweeneism.

Sweeneism?
Having a heavily Irish sounding tone, I'd assume that involves imbiding copious amounts of spirits and then pontificating furiously.

Or attacking windmills while riding backwards on a donkey.:D

Nope. Sorry. That's quixotic.
Though I can't exactly deny that label to vehemently, can I?

I've found that most new words are simply subcategories of older ones, perhaps sweenieism is quixotic when others goad you on?

Time for all of CAG to stuff the ballot box on this one.

tauruskatt, I think you'd be a perfect match for this contest. You have the looks and the figure, I think it's a perfect match.

Back on topic... yes, quite.

Otherwise, we'd just be spinning our windmills endlessly on this issue?
Otherwise, we'd just be spinning our windmills endlessly on this issue?
Ehh. Some people don't "get" me. I'm fine with that.
Rather than belabor the point, it's often better to just throw out some self-effacing humor to placate them.

Back on topic I hope this turns into a longer term thread, it would be interesting to read about the whole ordeal.

edit: Perhaps a bit better this way.

Oh, I know people don't get me. It's their loss, in any case.

When in doubt, just get the jester's cap and dance a funny little dance. :D That's my mantra.

I agree. It would at least be head and shoulders above most of the pablum that tends to clot this portion of the boards.
That, and it could be a worthwhile experience for tauruskatt.
It's nice to see people you "know" (even if it's just a message board persona) make good on a plan, contest, etc.

Very true, I'm also curious as to how many actual gamming women will apply, $10K should be enough interest to attract more than a few amature models.

I'm just backing the one we know from around here. The rest, they're not competition.

Can they still be eye candy?;)
Of course they can be eye candy. ;) They're just not competition. :D
Can they atleast compete for my attention?
Can they atleast compete for my attention?
I don't know, is your attetnion worth $10K?
Can they atleast compete for my attention?
When you have $10K to hand out, and they have a tail, then you can talk.

ill vote for you, but if youre a finalist i get to come on the vegas trip...... my blood is boiling for some gambling... indian casinos dont cut it, give me roullette and craps!
My attention is priceless. :D
Oh, we know that's you're full of shit on that one.

If it's so priceless, why do we let you leave? ;)
Just because a price isn't attached to your attentions doesn't make it inherently valuable.
I'm thinking the comma, in the case of dcfox, is an incorrectly written period, when rating the value of his attentions.

I find it amusing that one of the prizes is a year's subscription to Stuff Magazine. Isn't that backwards marketing? I thought it was for guys.

Anyways, do it Taurus. You'd have all of us behind you, and at the very least, you'd have some cool pics :)

I think it'd be stupid to think you wouldn't have CAG's support. You'll definitely have my support and vote if you decide to do it! :)

For anyone who sat through the Raw Diva Search shit on RAW recently in the WWE, you won't believe...Or maybe you will...Whose entered this contest and is currently winning rating wise....Everyone's favorite uber-bitch diva, Carmella...Tauruskatt...You better enter, so we can vote you to the top, over the primadonna uber-bitch. She didn't care about Raw at all, and it cost her winning it, and now she most likely doesn't care about EQII...

carmella entered the EQ II contest???

damn...she is so hot...:drool::hot:

Carmella is entering this contest too? Why doesn't she get a real job, besides entering bikini contests repeatedly. I'm sure she made enough to sit on her ass for several years from Playboy, so why does she enter these contests that she obviously has no clue about. I hope the girl who started this thread does enter, I'm sure CAG support will actually be a factor because who else is really going to know/care about this contest outside of gamer type people.

I do believe that your post was the first time that the word "pablum" has ever been used on the CAG boards. ;)

And on the original question...go for it. What do you have to lose by trying for it?
