What do you folks use to watch DVDs on your PCs? My Xbox 360 died so I'm forced to watch DVDs on my PC for the time being, but I guess that I don't have any software to do so. Suggestions? Preferably free.

You still need to "purchase" a dvd decoder to watch DVDs on Windows Media. While it's not free, I use PowerDVD and think it's a great player (I believe it's usually bundled with most DVD drives). I haven't seen any free players but I'm sure there must be a few out there.

I use powerdvd. VLC never scales properly for me and the image is always pixelated. Now downloaded videos on the other hand, VLC hands down.

VLC is really good. The only problem is that the menus are not intuitive at all and it will take some digging to use some of the special features the program con provide, such as rotating video.
