so what you are saying is that you tried to cut your loss/improve your gain by "moraning" 6+ more GMG mystery boxes?

out of curiosity, why did you stop at 7th try? Your 8th could be Black Ops :whistle2:
Well, my first two were duds. 3 through 6 each gave me one decent game. 7 was a dud again so I decided to stop before I started losing more/went past my comfort limit.

Oh and when I want to see what my chances are I play this that I got from Gamersgate on sale for like 1000 blue coins one time.

Don't H8

Then go play the slots or something.

Don't you have Indians where you're at?

Sigh.

I bought a set of two 4 GB RAM sticks so my computer would have 16 GB total... and the RAM is incompatible with the ones I already had. They're the same model, but from different batches and years (2010 vs 2014). This appears to be a known issue.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good 16 GB DDR3 set I can grab off Amazon? I have $15 in credit there, might as well put it to good use.

Edit: Welp never mind, those prices are ridiculous. Ugh.
If you're going to just replace what you gave and go to 16GB then buy 8x2 instead of 4x4. It's slightly faster in almost all situations and cheaper.

I hate the slots. That's just throwing money away. If I go to the casino I play black Jack. I play fan duel every night during basketball season so that's how I scratch my itch. No casinos in Georgia that I know of.

Let's face it, we have two different kinds of CAG, the silent majority who buys games to play and is here to find the best deal, and the vocal hoarders/ collectors who get more out of the deal hunt than playing games.

I'm one of those who gets more out of the hunt even if I've been trying to fight my hoarder tendencies. The entertainment/challenge for me here is to gamble and then see how much of my money I can get back. It'll keep me more entertained than if I would have just bought BO3, installed it, and then rage quit after getting tired of being sniped in MP.

I ended up doing a hrk bundle...got fallout 3 goty and hitman absolution.  Hopefully I can trade these for Tomb Raider.  Not an awful bundle.

I bet if you set all the RAM timings and voltage settings to manual in your Bios you could get all 4 sticks to work. More than likely it's just the spd of one set not playing nice with the other. That was sort of a lazy answer on Gskill's part.

As weird as it sound. Pairing them with the same brand and specs is like 50/50 if you got them again years later. That's why they also sell them in 4 pack for the compatibility. You have a better chance of getting the pair to work with any other brand with same specs.
Motherboards are a lot fussier about 4 sticks then they are about 2 sticks. I have mixed brands of RAM (w/ similar rating) on several desktop and laptop boards with zero issue, but had (and seen) issues like Foxhack is having with 2 "identical" 2-stick kits bought at the same time.

It's actually not that hard to win a modest amount in slots. The hard part is quitting while you're ahead and walking away, which most people suck at.

My parents used to go to Atlantic City and have a set amount they'd spend and then if they won more than that and came out ahead, even if it was just a little bit, they'd quit. So maybe they'd win like $20, $30 or $50 more than they started with and then that was it. Most people just think 'oh well if I won this I might win an even bigger jackpot' and then go bust.

Dooooo it, my morbid curiosity is piqued!

I wonder if you paid PayPal and HRK refused to honor their policy a PayPal claim would play out.

CheapLikeAFox = the new Snakeybro

Spends ridiculous amounts of money on trash, proudly admits to it and comes here to tell us about it to shock and disgust us.

If I'm going to gamble, I prefer to hit the track and bet on the ponies.  It's generally a nice day out and it's fairly self-limiting; you place your $2 bet and wait 15+ minutes for the race to start, maybe win or lose a little and do it again.  If you're only making small bets you can make $20 last all day versus plunking it into a slot machine within an hour.

Mind you, my horse betting system is "Pick the one with the name I like the most" combined with "Pick the one with 30-1 odds, thinking 'I could get $60 for my $2 bet!' and ignoring the fact that there's a REASON the horse has 30-1 odds... like it only has three legs".

Fox would bet on the one that died in the off-season, try to get a refund for his ticket, then tell all the other people at the track that he did it for their benefit even though nobody was remotely interested in betting on that horse.

I'm not sure my board supports 8GB sticks. Their official support list only mentions this model. Also,I'd much rather have 4 4GB sticks. I don't really care much about a few nanoseconds of extra speed.

... How could I set the RAM timings when the bloody thing reboots before it can even go into POST? :( I'd rather get something that won't cause me any issues.

You know they have a build a bundle link on that page where you could have picked all of those games in a bundle that was cheaper. At least the rest of us dumbasses know that they are including those games in their mystery bundles. With the amount you spent today you could have gotten Fallout 4, just saying :p.

Betting on horses is pretty entertaining and you can actually win some money if you study it and are good at handicapping them. It's more like poker since you are playing against the other bettors in a sense and not vs the house, the track just takes their cut from the total money bet and then pays out all of the rest.

So I bought the IG friday special #26 from Happy Hour even though I only wanted the Oil Blue from the bundle, does anyone else want any/all/some of the other games? I saved 8 whole cents by buying a HH bundle and now I got all these extra keys.

EDIT - This is whats left of the mystery bundle you all passed on for $5 earlier-

You could have got the Oil Blue from Hot Random Keys build a bundle for $1.49 and then pick the other 4 games. :p

Oh, HRK is up front about their shenanigans. They show you the potential games which is two pages of good games followed by 24 pages of bundle crap. I would never pay full price for FO4. Waste of money. Haven't finished 3 or New Vegas yet.

Once my brother turned a .10 bet into 30 something dollars. If only he had been like a $100 bet.

I'd be interested in Door to Door or Aerannis if either of those are still available.

I was a dumbassbro because aliens and because I have a cold and because I'm tired and because once I wasted $7 I felt I needed to keep going in deeper to redeem my dumbassery some how. I bought 7 Mystery Bundles (Yes, I spent $48.93 on my dumbassery).

Of those 7, 3 were complete utter bundle trash and nothing good at all. 4 contained 1 decent game. The decent games I got were:

Black Ops

Black Ops II (x2)

South Park

So considering the current Black Ops pricing and South Park at 75% and then throwing a GMG 20% coupon on top of that I paid $48.93 for $34.78 worth of games.

I'll be trying to sell this crap off on Steam Trades including all the shitty bundle crap and probably will only end up with a small loss or maybe break even if I can come across some morans who will overpay for the games once the Black Ops sale is over. The lesson being DON'T DO IT!

I actually think there's far more games worth getting than not in their list. The problem is that unlike the lottery they don't have to give you odds on actually getting any of the games or the number of each available. Assuming they're not just lying to make the list better (a big if unto itself) you know there's likely only a single key available for any of the games that draw people in. Would be more interesting to gamble on this stuff if they did give legitimate odds for you to evaluate, though I'm sure at least a few less people would bite.
