If they really want to remaster one it should be the orginal. It was only ever released on one platform (360) and in some ways it's always been my favorite.
I would love for SR1 to get a Remaster. I never had a 360 and would love to see it go to all platforms; especially PC.

EDIT:

Would they actually charge for it, though? All those Red Faction remasters were given out free.
If they are charging, they better put some new content or something in there - i.e. like what DN3D 20th did.

Anyone know how booster packs work with the free Steam games?

Since card drops are disabled, are booster packs also disabled?

Question to the gamer gods!

I got today my new laptop (Asus TUF FX505DT) and I'm very pleased with what I got for $500. Now, I do have to upgrade the ram (currently 8GB) and hard drive (256GB). I will first upgrade the drive and because I'm a cheap ass gamer I don't want to exceed the $100 mark for at least 1TB. I saw THIS particular drive which seems interesting and I would like to know your thoughts on that compared to other SSD under around my budget.

Thanks and may Trump Cat bless you all!

So that's pretty much as good as you're going to get for a 2tb sata notebook drive. I don't follow "gaming laptop" products at all but initial quick searches seem to indicate that the hdd is a WD SN520. If this matches your machine's specs, then no, the drive you linked to wouldn't be compatible at all. It uses a different interface (sata) and is a completely different form factor (2.5" vs. m.2)

m.2 pci-e drives are currently high priced and rising due to the irregular production and demand patterns that everyone's experiencing right now. a solid deal of $100 for a 1tb tlc nvme m.2 drive could be found on occasion 6mo ago, but very unlikely at the moment.

I bought that same model hard drive as a second drive for my laptop on July 15, 2019, according to Amazon. My main drive is a 256GB Samsung SSD.

It ran games fine up until March. Then I had a game running a few weeks ago and took a break, came back, and the game had shut down with the hard drive no longer registering on my system. Not listed under DiskUtil or anything.

I restarted several times, scanned for hardware, installed partition recovery software, and nothing even recognized that the hard drive was plugged in. Eventually booted into BIOS and did a factory reset of that, which seemed to work and showed the hard drive again. Backed up everything on an external drive just in case, then started up Guild Wars 2 from that SSHD. Loading times were terrible, taking 1-3 minutes just to switch maps. After switching maps, it took at least another minute to load up the environment textures. I have game graphics options set to "Best Performance" which sets all details to "low" and turns off most effects, and it was still extremely slow. So I ended up deleting files off my SSD and moving the game over there. Loading between maps takes about 10 seconds now.

Not sure what it is that failed, but games load very slowly from my FireCuda now. I'm still keeping the FireCuda to store "movies" and stuff on. Bought an XPG GAMMIX 1TB m.2 SSD on Newegg for $140 this week as a replacement for my 256GB so I can play games.

I've had solid luck with Samsung in both SSD and HDD. WD has been hit or miss with me over the years. I don't hate them, but I've had a few Blacks carp out at completely random moments. In truth, I've had the most reliability with HGST (now Toshiba) 3.5" drives.

I have about 50+TB in use currently. About 14TB spinning 24/7, 8TB spinning up daily and 30+TB of backups.

I have three SSDs in my computer. I have a 500 GB Samsung M.2 NVME for the OS and other misc programs that are small, a 2 TB Crucial SSD for gaming that has Blizzard, Steam, etc installed on it and then a 2 TB Crucial SSD for data and other things.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this setup as there is basically no delay in doing anything.

Whoa, that's a lot of porn!

Always knew this was you:

I personally have always had good luck with WD, specifically their externals. My first external drive was a WD 640GB I bought in 2007. I hooked it up to my Xbox 360 in 2014 to store all my games on, and it still works.

I wanted to check in and see if everyone in here was acting normal since the pandemic......yup! Everyone is still talking about PC rigs. Carry on.

I've had an 8 GB Seagate fail on me and like a Maxtor. Of the 30ish WD drives, I don't think one's ever failed (knocks on wood). I do only buy WD Blacks and Reds though.

One 1TB SSD for everything.  Uninstall games I'm not actually playing.  Also tend not to play games where cinematics take up half the HD space.

Yeah, but it's been six weeks since the last time someone even mentioned pizza. I don't even know where I am anymore.

I've had Seagate externals and Maxtor internals fail on me.

I have some Toshiba HHD's; and WD internals & externals. Still kicking fine w/ those.

Also have some Crucial and Toshiba SSD's. Those are fine. Still kicking.

Storybundle new game book bundle. $15 for all with benefits going to Doctors Without Borders. This doesn't have as many I'm interested in (Commodork/sequel not really my style and Figure Fight looks like pure fluff). Still a good cause and the Stay Awhile books about Blizzard sound very interesting along with the Anatomy books. Plus I love my HG101 books.

Link

Books are:

Stay Awhile and Listen Book 1 - Legendary Edition by David L. Craddock
Commodork - Sordid Tales from a BBS Junkie by Rob O'Hara
Figure Fight by John Harris
The Anatomy of Super Mario by Jeremy Parish
Boss Fight Books: Breakout by David Sudnow
Faster Than Light by Jamie Lendino
The Anatomy of Mega Man by Jeremy Parish
Commodorkier - New Tales from an Old Dork by Rob O'Hara
HG101 Digest Vol. 5: Treasure by Kurt Kalata
Stay Awhile and Listen Book 2 by David L. Craddock

If I ever taste any beaver that's even remotely "horseradishy", that will scar me in this life and whatever's next.

Off topic from the...horseradish discussion, lol...but i just saw on the front page here that Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition is 5.50 on Newegg right now, I haven't seen it that cheap in awhile. Old game and all and I'm sure virtually everybody here has it but if for some reason you don't it's one of the best rpgs of all time imo
