Good to know. I'll get the game when it's like $5 after I've finished playing Wasteland Classic and 2. I actually started classic a while back but never really got into it.

Well, a few days ago I went out on a limb and made a positive post about Spiritfarer (it was positive, but in a negative sort of way). Lo and behold, this morning I loaded the game and discovered I had a gamebreaking bug. What does this all mean? Obviously it means I'm never going to post here again.

Nothing good ever comes from showing enthusiasm towards games.

But it does pay to complain. I whined about my broken game in the Steam forum and one of the devs offered to manually fix my save file, and it worked! I guess I'll keep posting here after all.

edit: incidentally, I accidentally bought a Pinball FX3 pack that I already own: ??KLE-9?7DZ-NDC8B

? = the number associated with taking a shit

I think there was a patch just released that addressed save game issues and game-breaking bugs.

I mean, aren't we all? Just at different speeds?

The long-term survival rate on his cancer isn't great, but I hadn't heard a terminal diagnosis for him yet.
From what I understand he was terminal and doing the show as long as he could before his medical issues got too severe.

I played about an hour of Wasteland 3 last night. The opening cinematic was. . . meh. The actual gameplay was pretty great. Default combat options allow for a variety of tactics and PCs have a lot of variety in terms of skills and equipment. I did find the Dorsey antagonists who are your first faction of foes in the game to be a bit of a reskinned Children of the Atom. The idea that a literal cult has arisen worshipping as a religion the ideas of blood or death or fallout is essentially a trope in post-apocalyptic gaming at this point. Having said that, I'm optimistic that the story and at least some of the other NPCs and factions will be well-written and interesting, based on inXile's track record.

Considering the Humble Summer Sale banner says that there are deals up to 90% off, yet A Way Out is currently 92% off (far and away an historical low), I'm going to assume it's a pricing error.

Not sure if this section of Metacritic is new, but this is a really good wrap-up of free and sub games: https://www.metacritic.com/feature/new-free-games-playstation-xbox-pc-switch

I hadn't seen the Prime or Stadia Pro offerings for Sept yet, so that was nice to see even though they're both lame. It's also nice to have the MC scores there especially for games I've never heard of or that just launched

Battlefield 5 for $10 (without discount) is the cheapest it's ever been, according to ITAD:

https://www.humblebundle.com/store/promo/EA-end-of-summer-sale/

Showing as $8.79 for me though w/ Humble Discount.

Though, I already own this one. Backlogged and all.

A Way Out does look interesting (always did) - but yeah, you need a 2nd player to get this one going who can co-ordinates times w/ you to play or find out who's willing. I wish they had a bot/AI here for SP fans; or say you could freeze split-screens and switch b/t the characters or whatever. I know, that defeats the game's purpose of co-op and all - but still, would make it less of a coaster for some. But still, $2.10 (after HC discount) is dirt-cheap. Why not, right? (Bought it).

Also, looks like C&C Remastered is like $5.80 for HC members like myself or $6.59 without.

Another ITAD historic low - https://isthereanydeal.com/game/commandandconquerremasteredcollection/info/

It's an Origin key only, unfortunately. You have to link your Origin account, and it gets redeemed automatically.

What did those pretentious nerds responsible for Archi Steam Farm do to the API so that it no longer accepts "!redeem [BotName]" keys? Their support is always incredibly toxic, and I think I'm banned from their Steam group for telling them how toxic they are.

Anyone else had issues with it working? Or is it just repeatedly failing to authenticate my main account to redeem keys on?

"Read the wiki *locks thread*"

That was my attempt to respond the way Archi does.

EDIT:

I have no idea about the issue nor if the issue is covered in the wiki.

I ordered a new PC today. Just curious as to people's opinion on my choices. I wanted to keep it under $2k so I backed the CPU down from an i9 to an i710700KF with a RTX2080 Super. Should I reverse that to the i9 and a 2070 Super? Most of my PC use is programming and gaming.

Don't know how you'd go wrong here, given you're going w/ high-end i7 or i9 10xxx series; and either a RTX 2070 Super or RTX 2080. All of that, sounds great.

But, I'd go w/ the better video card, TBH - if you're deciding here.

I don't think these days that most games now are CPU-bound right now; haven't been for a while. Games are just flat-out more GPU-bound.

Also - dude, you're getting a new fridge! Awesome!!! So glad to hear that here!

Oof.... why are you paying for a 2070 Super 4 days before they announce the RTX 3070 & 3080, and a couple weeks before they come out. That's simply wasting your budget.

The RTX 3070 is reported to do ~2080 Ti level of performance -5%.

Wait for the Nvidia video/press conference on Sept.1, and pre-orders will go live shortly after it. (Also, the new AMD RDNA2 cards should be coming out in Nov./Dec.)

Yeah, I would have held out for an AMD announcement.  Then again, I'm going to be keeping my 2600x and 580 for another year or more so I can afford to wait.  But nothing wrong with what you bought.  I agree with MD that CPU requirements are being vastly overrated these days as far as gaming goes.

With everything going for more cores & not as important on the clock-speeds per core - yeah, I don't see how going with anything like say a R7 3700x (or above) or i7 10700K (or above) is really an issue here. Sure, you could go for a i9 10xxx or R9 3900x - but, really, what for? Unless you're a frames per sec "snob" and need just a handful more frames, I don't see the point.

Just toss more $ into the video card, instead of the processor; where it'll really matter. Games seem to care more about the GPU & depend on that, since CPU's are so fast & efficient anyways these days.

And realistically, Intel's been recursing the hell out of their CPU each generations for years anyways. AMD with the Ryzen's right along side with Intel these days and improving immensely. Really curious how bad-ass their 4000 desktop series will be, given how good the desktop 3000 series was and how killer their laptop Ryzen 4000 series is.
