Lies. Got a waterpik for $32 after tax with $10 coupon from a Whole Food purchase.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HFQQ0VU/
right after Amazon's hostile takeover, I went to whole foods, linked my Bezo account and spent $20 for some kind of promised reward, that I never actually ended up getting. Whatever. Still the best 5 bananas I've ever traded for a jackson, though.

elsewhere...

Is this a good deal? I have no clue about keyboards and have probably always had <$20 ones/whatever hand-me-down was around. Been interested in a mechanical and dig the old beige look.
Dealwise i'd say it's so-so. Most of the appeal is in the aesthetic, which imo suddenly looks like garbage once the rgb backlighting is on. Uncommon keycaps as well. And brown switches seem like an odd choice for a product trying to be retro. In keeping with a retro feel, I'd think blue switches (my preference) would the better choice.

If most of the interest is in trying a mechanical board for the first time, you can frequently find non-retro fullsize boards with comparable switches for cheaper.

Prime Day seems mostly a scam to get people to buy before better Black Friday deals. This cheap-o Red Dragon mouse (don't judge) was $15.30ish on an Amazon 'lightning deal.' Well, the deal is over but now the mouse is $14 after a newly added $4 coupon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011HMDZ0Q/

Also thinking of grabbing this keyboard (stop judging!):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAI2TXC/
Redragon makes solid stuff, especially for the price. My current keyboard is the K557 and I'm using the M709 mouse that I won in a giveaway. No complaints.

After Mooby's recent RGB computer mod posts and now this, I now have a picture of him in a brightly lit room, My Little Pony posters plastered all over the brilliantly white walls, his computer and peripherals a veritable rainbow-colored pile of vomit, playing ancient German RPGs on one monitor and watching HotS skin reviews on YouTube on another.

How close am I?

Nice deals.
What brands on the RAM and SSD?
The ram is the Crucial Ballistix 3200 MHz DDR4 DRAM Desktop Gaming Memory Kit 16GB (8GBx2) CL16 BL2K8G32C16U4B (Black).

The 32gb kit for $90 was briefly available again this morning but I'm currently on Ryzen and so was thinking that dual rank might perform worse? Whatever. The ram should be here today. Amazon is nuts like that.

The SSD is an Intel 660p NVMe 512GB. It was $39 after tax and a $4 shipping fee. I was shocked that B&H shipped it at all, let alone already. I'm currently on a night or Samsung SATA SSD, so I guess the M.2 will be a bit faster because of the bus change.

I also have a Asus x570 TUF on order that just went to delayed status from Staples yesterday. $137 after coupon if it ever ships.

I'm apparently trying to build the most ghetto fabulous Ryzen 2600x rig ever built.

/r/buildapcdeals costs me so much money in "savings" ...

QLC. Not personally a fan. But if you have an open slot then at that price, yeah why not. Would be mostly fine for game storage.

The x570 TUF, despite imo being ugly, is actually pretty solid in terms of features and power delivery. It's the atx board I recommend for people currently building on am4 who don't want to go up to $219 to the x570 Tomahawk. I've owned one previously and actually just ordered another this morning. The wifi version (open box) is under $120 at checkout through AWD right now. I think I yoink'd the last one at $111.

I use the even cheaper M601 mouse (less RBG) and that same keyboard. They work great and i've had them for years. Keyboard is solid - weighs like 5 lb, no built in USB ports but that wasn't a selling point for me.

GreenManGaming:

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War - Definitive Edition -> Steam = 84% off at $9.60

The Definitive Edition includes all DLC:

  • Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion
  • Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion
  • Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion
  • Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion
Nemesis Expansions include a new Orc Tribe featuring new enemies, followers, missions, abilities, weapons, Fortress and wilderness updates, and a Legendary Gear Set.

Story Expansions introduce a new campaign, playable character & abilities, side missions, enemies, allies & more.

Thanks for the input. I ended up grabbing the keyboard (normal square keys version) and mouse for about $60ish total after tax. Might be cheaper on Black Friday but, meh... one less thing I have to look for then.

it's a damn shame i'm hearing middling reviews for Torchlight III. Seems a bit shallow, but still fun to play. if the reviews were better, i might have fakeybro'd, but now i'm like, "maybe at fifty percent, probably seventy five." anyways, more time to complete backlog... pfft, lol, yeah right.

I kept expecting this to be a Humble Monthly game but with revealing all at once now having a big headliner isn't that needed anymore... so maybe not anymore.

I also think Marvel's Avengers is going to be in a humble bundle sooner rather than later. Its sales weren't that great and its player retention is on Anthem level. (The game is appearently suffering matchmaking issues from a lack of players.)

SoW was a in a Humble Monthly/Choice in January, but it was only the base-game. It wasn't Definitive unfortunately.

I probably would've bought SoW: Definitive from GMG, if I didn't have the base-game already. I really only need DLC's/Expansions here, so...maybe I'll buy it when it's even cheaper in a Steam "Complete A Bundle" or if it's cheaper on Humble, GMG or somewhere?

The Season Pass and Expansion Pass...just ain't often on sale. A lot of times, seems to be - base-game only or Definitive goes on sale for good pricing.

I hope Avengers ends up in a HB/HC. That would get me to buy that, for sure.

Hopefully, it winds up dirt-cheap or bundled. It just sounds like they Diablo III'd that TL3 too much (i.e. streamlined it and made it harder to make unique character builds b/c it looks like they took the stats out).

You can get some Sega avatars/background/frames for "watching" their stream for about 10 20 minutes or so.

EDIT cause I don't like double posting:

Chrono is shutting down.

https://community.chrono.gg/t/saying-goodbye-to-chrono-and-hello-to-nexus-3/22686
RIP Chrono. Never seemed to get enough traffic or deep discounts. Looks like they're pivoting to making stores for streamers to get referral money.

Edit:

This keyboard is on clearance on Woot for Prime members:

https://sellout.woot.com/offers/roccat-iskuforce-fx-rgb-gaming-keyboard

Not mechanical, but $25 and seems to have a lot of features and macros.

Any thoughts on Observer System Redux, watched a Dev video and seeing it for $5.99 as an upgrade on Epic ... thinking about biting at that price.

It had that discount on Steam for prior owners only for a limited time. I found out after the promotion was over.

Yeah I found out too late too.  Whatever, I haven't played the original.  I will get around to it eventually and if this one has not been in a bundle by then, oh well.   Doesn't sound like they changed it that drastically anyway.

Seems like the kind of thing that would normally be a free patch. I suppose Blair Witch was such a failure that Bloober needs the easy money desperately. Hope they make some money off it, I suppose. I'll pass.

At that price it would need to be the Evo + to be competitive. The vanilla 970 is outperformed by numerous drives often on sale for less than that.

below that will be

at that point the DLC showed up in my account/licenses page, so I closed out.

Wow, $400 off is very tempting. Seriously have to consider upgrading from my 2600x if there’s a solid deal on a board too
Yeah, if only Microcenter had a fire sale on some Z370's or Z390's...

EDIT:

Also looks like G.Skill got some RAM on sale on MC also.

Obra Dinn half off at all storefronts. Man, that's like #1 on my wishlist, but it really feels overdue to be an Epic freebie or in a Humble bundle or part of a sub service like Game Pass.

Last year's Intel chips finally got reduced to (basically closeout/clearance) sale prices at Microcenter. Huge drops on the 9700K and the 9900K. For anyone currently on a Z370 or Z390 board this is by far an all-time low price.

Intel 9700K $199.99

Intel 9900K $299.99
Very tempting. My PC is running an 2080 ti with an i7 8700 (non-K) but I mostly game in either 4k 60fps, 1440p 60fps, or sometimes anything between. Samsung TV limit is at 60Hz. The differences I've seen at those resolutions and fps in comparison videos are nill.

Damn, I'm only level 16. Wouldn't mind playing some Doom Eternal on Game Pass. Still haven't bought that game yet.
