In unexpected news Actraiser from the ole SNES game got a remaster announced. Followed by an actual release. Yes, its out now.

And its not a cheap port... New artwork, New soundtrack, some new boss fights, etc.

This was actually one of my favorite games on the SNES. Amazing soundtrack also. Did anyone else play it back in the day?

Never had a SNES and never played Actraiser - but I was glad to see this hit PC yesterday. I'll wait for some sales or for it to get bundled.

Another day another average to below average deck builder. This time I got excited and bought The Amazing American Circus. Went from pretty decent enough to bland and boring over just a few hours.

In this game you play as a guy who's father died that owns a circus. You don't want anything to do with it although you get roped into it from you uncle. You control up to 3 performers at a time who have a 5 card unique deck. You also choose a bonus character to give you an act bonus and kind of like an ultimate attack you build up to. Generally it plays similar to Slay the Spire except they are audience members instead of monsters. You weaken them and once they lose their health they stop fighting. You move between cities and can upgrade your circus like Darkest Dungeon and also recruit performers like Darkest Dungeon. Between cities you feed your performers and can get upgrades/downgrades with enough of the right food parameters. That is extremely tedious.

Frankly it's all kind of boring. It's a bland mix of Darkest Dungeon and Slay the Spire. There is an old timey sounding soundtrack and okay enough voices. The graphics are bland too and don't animate very well. Overall there is some quests but you try to keep your money up by doing boring city circus battles, which can only be done once. You can also use an hourglass to explore the map and reveal stuff to go to. It's not terrible challenging, but it's also not super easy. Honestly I feel bursting down opponents with big attacks is the way to go. Defending feels so weak.

I honestly don't know what to rate it. I played a bit over 5 hours and I don't want to play anymore. Every city feels the same and I'm using the same guys over and over. It's boring. I'd recommend it only in a cheap bundle, and that's a barely recommend. 6/10 barely.

Anyone playing New World? I played a little bit of the beta … was actually really impressed, loved that exploration awarded experience. Doesn’t seem revolutionary, but kind of reminded me of an ELEX/ Risen mmo with a bit of Skyrim thrown in.

I know it’s having server issues at the moment, but I’m tempted to pick up a copy this weekend.

It certainly has me interested, but not enough to drop cash and wait in queue. I'll wait for the first patch cycle and being able to jump on whenever I want to give it a go.

Do it, game is great; leveling is enjoyable and the gathering/crafting is cathartic af

I bought this matx case (black / white) + free psu for $42 AR.  This ram kit is also good for $51.

2.  9700k cpu's are $150 instore at microcenter now.  They also have a $50 combo on the cpu, which takes $50 off any intel board (even socket 1200) purchased with the $150 cpu.
