Already got it for free on Origin, but rebought it on Steam cuz the Steam versions of Origin games usually launch easier through steam deck.

Sony's Sackboy: A Great Adventure is coming to Steam (and Epic, but no one cares about them) in October with features like uncapped frame rate and ultrawide support. Yet another game from the Nvidia leak comes true

Edit: A few weeks ago somebody leaked the PC settings screens for this game and for Returnal as well. So I would imagine an official announcement of a Returnal port to PC should be coming soon

Edit 2: The video was the official trailer from the YouTube channel of one of Sony's non-USA branches (I forget which one). But the video was just made private

I picked it up cus I've actually wanted to really play this one and it seems perfect for steam deck but then I saw it still uses origin? How does that work. If I launch through steam deck will it auto install origin for me? Or do I have to swap to desktop mode and do some tinkering to get it working?

I assume it works like GTAV and Rockstar launcher. It all gets installed together, auto launched what it needs, and when the game is quit the deck kills all processes associated with the game including the origin crap. I bought it on steam again too just for convenience.

Also fellow Deckers there's a 256gb PNY microSD card (pro elite) for $17 on Amazon.

I ordered 1, and might kill it with a windows install...

Figured I'd post this here for anyone looking for discounted Steam credit: If you've got a Chase CC, check the offers section on your accounts page. You might have a flash offer for 20% back at Best Buy (up to $20 back) on a single purchase. Could get $100 Steam credit for $80.

Since I've played it a bunch since release (1.0) here's a review of Arcanium.

First of all this is a kind of Hearthstone like game with 3 heroes and a lot less randomness. They all have their own abilities and set of cards to usually defeat a set of 3 enemies. There are two modes with one being a mode where you go across a map, do missions and gather abilies/minions/artifacts (powers up the heroes)/etc... and the other being an arena like mode where you go round by round and try to get the most money and survive till the end powering up between rounds. The visuals and all are top notch and have a very nice look. All the animations and sounds are pretty good too. The music is probably the weakest part, but still pretty decent.

There is a lot of variety in gameplay, although the same cards will come up often after a while. There are quite a lot of heroes to unlock along with other achievements/cards/artifacts and some other random stuff like card borders. I do find it a bit repetitive overall and each run takes around 1 and a half to 2 hours. It is fun, but I likely need to up the challenge. I can beat the game quite often with a random lineup, although not having some guy to help defend the team makes it a lot easier. It is a little Slay the Spire like with the cards and energy requirements, but feels a lot more like Hearthstone because of character placement mattering to targeting and such. Overall it's extremely clean and easy to pick up and play.

I like the game a decent amount although runs can feel a bit samey. The arena mode is also challenging and is a lot shorter than the adventure mode. It can be challenging at first, but I like how synergy guides builds and cards used. I forgot to mention that attacks build up to an ultimate and you can unlock up to 3 per character choosing one at the beginning of the run. This adds more playability and more deck building possibilities.

Overall I feel this is one of the better rogue-lite deck building card games in quite a while. I don't think it's amazing, but it's more than solid and extremely polished. This one is worth getting at a discount, but it doesn't need to be bundled to be bought. It ranges between a 7.5-8 for me, which means it's a pretty solid game overall. Recommended.

Some games appearing now on Amazon Prime, if you got that:

-> Fallout 76 - Windows Store version

-> Total War: Warhammer 2 - Epic Store version

-> Middle-Earth: Shadow of War - Not sure what version yet / coming Oct. 5th

Windows store sounds about the cheapest version you can get. Also TW:W 2 Epic version when there is gobs of DLC. At least I'll get to try out both to see if I want to play them or in cause of TW:W 2 buy the DLC+base elsewhere or wait for a bundle.

Steam blocked the release of Spike-Chunsoft's visual novel Chaos;Head due to explicit content. This is despite the game still releasing on the Nintendo Switch, and despite the game's successors Chaos;Child and Steins;Gate already being on Steam

Some are speculating that it's due to one specific Valve employee on the approval team who hates visual novels. A different publisher reported that all of its visual novels were approved for Steam except for one, which was reviewed by someone else

Either way, it's a bummer seeing Valve put arbitrary restrictions on things a la Epic. You would think a company whose storefront houses the game "Sex with Hitler" among tons of other porn and ultra-violent games, would just allow the game and let consumers decide whether they want to support it. Alas...

It's a shame this series is so niche that I suspect not enough of a stink will be raised about this. It doesn't make sense to ban games from a veteran and respected developer like Spike-Chunsoft

Based on some of the shit VN I see pop up via Discovery Queue, that game gotta have some crazy stuff to be banned for explicit content.

Most of the shit you're seeing in the discovery queue is worse than Chaos;Head Noah, it's not that bad. If the content is good enough for Switch, it's good enough for Steam.

IIt's very late for this to be announced one week before release.  My guess is that Valve is taking an extreme and inconsistently hardline perspective on an issue relating to presumed ages of fictional high-school characters.  I don't fault SC at all for not working with Valve as the game is already being distributed on other platforms in an already-censored state.

Anyway there's a fanmade pc translation+build coming from Committee of Zero.  I'll probably either go that route, or nsw physical,  Possibly both.

Yeah the switch port (and I assume the steam port as well if it wasn't banned) was already heavily butchered because of how much content was cut.

No one mentioned the October Steam Next Fest started today? I remember people here trying and reviewing lots of demos during the last one

There is also a free badge you can earn and level it up to 6 (the maximum) by looking through your discovery queue 6 times. The discovery queue also has a newer and faster interface so you don't need to wait for the store page for each game to load

takes time to play some games, cag posting is quick :)

Floodland - frostpunk but with water instead of cold and ice. Went in expecting an endzone and got frostpunk. Its pretty similar with quests and what not and building exactly what you need when you need it based on resources. If you liked frostpunk probably like this too

Manor lords - a different more freeform city builder, what i played I really liked and it looks nice too. Also seems like the map can get huge and eventually have large battles but it is still a bit rough. One Im definitely keeping my eye on though. Also not sure if there is just a short/no-ending demo or if my people all died or what but ended very abruptly

Against the storm - plays like a little mini city builder with just quests to build you up to get to final end-level areas to get artifacts for your leader to then progress to the next level, like an actual new starting area. Its different but I was meh on it

Casino resort tower - tower builder, could have just been any tower builder but focused on casinos for some odd reason. Has a lot of stuff but was very fiddly. Just didnt really click with me but it seems like it might be OK in the future

Aquatico - need to spend more time with this one. Looks really nice and seems to have a ton of buildings already but the play felt a bit bland. Though I only gave it like less than an hour so probably need to give it a bit more time

Wow... the new discovery queue interface sucks...  It might be okay for people who just blow through queues during events to get badges/cards, but sucks if you actually look at stuff to add to wishlist.

I want to see the screenshots.

I wind up adding in dozens of extra clicks to load tabs with the full page so I can see screenshots and other info.

I'm super excited for this remake...

Dead Space is one of my (very few) favorite horror inspired games. Next we need a modern remake of the F.E.A.R. series.

Yeah, you're exactly right. When I use the new discovery queue, I'm pretty sure I passed by a lot of games I otherwise would have looked at a little longer. Not sure what they're thinking there.
