I'm not excited, more sarcastically frustrated. I'm not one who really cares about different platforms, so much. For me, it feels the EA App just still needs time to bake. The feature set is as basic (and even more so, currently, in some areas) as Origin was. Even GOG Galaxy has more features available, like the ability to hide games or customize the size of game tiles. As a PC user, I/we tend to prefer having options. If you are going to take away an option by forcing your client, at least give me options on what I can do with it.
You know, it's also pretty pathetic that say UbiSoft Connect and EA Origin has been around forever - yet has no categorizing/grouping games like Steam...and finally even Epic now of all places has this feature.

Steam has had the categorizing thing forever and that's always been great - but now Epic allows for creating your own tags/groups/collections. I literally created an "Immersive Sim" group for Prey and the Bioshock series. I created a "CRPG" group for Tyranny, Pathfinder, Shadowrun Trilogy. Yet, Ubi and Origin, which have been around longer, doesn't even have THIS basic feature.

When Epic's out-doing Origin and Ubi in basic stuff like this - and Epic's client is still all kinds of "meh", BTW - something's wrong w/ the world.

Oh good, a chance for me to rant about Ubi.

I've recently started to play the Assassin's Creed games, thanks to them threatening to sunset DLC in games I already owned. (I'd played the first and didn't love it, and never went back). So, in a matter of months, I've gotten through AC 2, AC Brotherhood, AC Syndicate, and now working on AC 4. All of these are mildly infuriating in some way, but nothing comes close the fury manifested by having to logon each. and. every. time. I. play.

Mind you, Ubi is running in the background non-stop. I never log out of the client when I'm playing their games. The GAME makes me login when I'm already logged in.

Worse, it always -- I mean ALWAYS -- acts as though I've never logged in before. It doesn't remember my password (despite having checked the "save password" box every goddamn time. Sometimes it even makes me do two factor auth, and then cleverly notes that it's remembering the name of my device. As everyone probably already knows... this has been going on with Ubi's client for YEARS.

They make playing games a chore.

Watched DF's 4090 review and great framerates, but that price.... I wonder what it'll be a year from now and same for the real 4080.

Crucial 2tb MX500 is $106 on today's prime-only promotion. sata 2.5"

Decent, flexible choice for game storage. Lowest I've seen it.
Nice price for a 2tb. I'm waiting on $50 for a 1tb to stick in an old console.

RTX 4090 Notes:

- 4090 reviews are out there.

- 4090 is out-standing performance-wise....though, you look like you're selling a kidney to get it.

- Expect 4k with high framerates (60-144fps) with RT and DLSS On...or even 8k50-60fps.

- Insane performance, but...it costs a fortune ($1600 MSRP); takes up tons of space inside the PC case; and you really need a 4K monitor for this, as basically 1080p and 1440p is a waste on this card.

- This card is basically a Titan or Quadro class card (for content-developers)...also marketed to be sold to very high-end gamers.

- Most reviewers are saying to wait for 4080's, 4070's, and/or AMD's next stack of GPU's...b/c of the price.

Why are we excited? Isn’t it just Origin by a different name? Wake me up when I can play my EA on Origin games on Steam without installing any other app. God EA sucks …
Definitely not excited, hope it dies swiftly and they move everything to Steam, but if it it doesn't crash during downloads like Origin did for me in my limited past use, I guess that'll be an improvement.

I'm using this grip/cover for the Steam Deck and it's real nice:

https://www.amazon.com/Protective-Shock-Absorption-Anti-Scratch-Accessories-nintendo-switch/dp/B0B75N73N9

However, I just got the official Steam Deck Dock, and unfortunately with the grip/cover on, the system doesn't fit into the dock. Does anyone know of an alternative that fits the dock when it's on?
I don't have an answer for you on that, but I am curious, do you have the case that the Steam Deck higher tier came with, and if so, does the deck still fit in it with that grip/cover on it?

I have that same spigen case and I really like it, some reddit comments I’ve been seeing claim no case currently fits the dock. And that sucks cause this spigen one has the cutouts and all that.

I use a TPU grip cover from JSAUX that fits their docking stations:

The various TPU protective cases you can buy from Amazon/AliExpress seem to be all from the same Chinese factory so yours may fit the JSAUX docks and the official case too.

Eh ok I bought it.   Browser checkout wasn't working but I grabbed my deck and finalized the purchase there.

I bought and backlogged the three previous BL games dirt cheap, was planning to do the same with 3.  I guess it's nice to have the refund option if remorse builds in the near future.  Already annoyed they threw in $5 gold weapon skins.

3 is pretty fun plus they moved most of the end game stuff away from raid bosses (there are a couple but they can be solo'ed with the right set up).

I'll send a code for a digital copy of The Northman to the first person to like this post. The second person to like this post will get a screen pass.

Thanks. I also wanted to add this to my backlog and grabbed my deck to complete the purchase based on your recommendation. This title card looks great unplayed in my steamdeck library. 100% would recommend.

LAL at BL3 Ultimate Edition... Reading steamgifts thread, apparently they "fixed" the price a couple times.  First it was changed to 69% off, then 57% off, now it's 47% off for a price of $61.

I've been lamenting the lack of good walking simulators lately, and generally have always bemoaned the lack of walking simulators that seem to take place within the rotting corpse of some mutated alien scum god. Well, you can imagine my delight when I fired up Scorn on GamePass. Sure it has "puzzles" and I guess you can say it has something resembling combat, but make no mistake, this game is all about walking around in an alien corpse-scape. I've finished the first few acts and it's one of the better walkies I've played in a while. Based on what I've read I'm already about halfway through the game, which is excellent. Like any good walking simulator, I really can't wait for it to be over with.

Incidentally I'm on paternity leave right now and for all your cheap ass dads out there let it be known that Scorn is the perfect game to play with the little ones.

Scorn is the type of project that looks like it started out with the devs creating an aesthetic and then asking themselves: "Ok... now what?"

And credit to them, they absolutely nail that aesthetic. It's an interesting game to look at. It's when you have to actually start doing things in this world that the game struggles a whole lot.

Seems like a great deal for Tekken 7. I used to love those games as a kid and played thru 4 but really not too sure how they are these days. If I play games mostly solo is this worth picking up? Does it have decent solo content or is this more for the hardcore fighting game community that really plays together?

The story can be completed in probably two hours and there are treasure battles where you can fight to unlock gear and money to customize characters with silly costumes but the meat and potatoes is online.

I like 3D fighters, but have never gotten the hang of Tekken. Every other major 3D fighting franchise I’ve tried I’ve at least been able to do okay after a little practice, but after putting some effort into Tekken 2, 3, 5, 6, and Tag Tournament 2, I still have yet to feel like I have any idea what I’m doing.

Yeah fighting games aren't really for me either. Remembering combos is too hard as it is. And the scene generally is filled with experienced players on any of the games online parts usually.

Nice one. Bought that right away. Sooooo much DLC that $9.50 finally feels like a deal we used to get back in the day.
Also was an insta-buy for me w/ the percentage off and how hard it often is to get those DLC's/Complete Edition this cheap.

Resident Evil: Village.

New Patch released for PC version of RE: Village on Steam is causing problems:

Notes:

- New Patch released for PC version of RE: Village on Steam is causing problems.

- It causes problems when loading old save data, crashes the game then, and then locks the player out of the game.

- Capcom has apologized for this issue and is looking into this.

- It looks like what caused this mess is some new anti-tamper code that added to PC version.

- A user has made a workaround for now.

- For now, work-around is over here -> https://steamcommunity.com/app/1196590/discussions/1/5002961597094109850/

Man, I wish EA would sell the Amry of Two franchise to someone who would do something with it... Never a game of the year candidate but stupid fun nonetheless.

Also did anyone else try the Darktide beta this weekend? I didn't have access for long, and had limited yime due to life, but it was solid and the character creator was way more impressive than I thought it would be.
