EYE is... okay.  Really rough around the edges, though.  And a fairly steep curve for a first time player to familiarize yourself with all the gameplay mechanics.

Did you even read what the Humble Store offers-up for SrR + DF DLC on their respective page?

You get BOTH Steam-keys + a direct DRM-FREE download from Humble Store.

You can take the Steam-key from HS - and activate that key up on Steam.

You can't activate DLC's on Steam BEFORE a base-game, anyways.

Steam just don't allow for that.

You have to activate the base-game first on Steam.

It's the way it works.

I don't know why you'd wanna buy from Humble right now - it ain't on sale, at this moment in time unfortunately.

Would be nice if it'd go on sale on HS at those Steam-like cheap price...like soon.

Only way I'd keep two or more different copies of a game installed would be if I got a bunch of different mods that can't work together and make the game a bit different.

Example:

If I was doing Vampire: Bloodlines, I might have:

1. One install w/ Wesp's Basic patches

2. Another install w/ Wesp's Plus version of his patches

3. A 3rd install w/ Tessmage's patches.

Currently, though - only got Wesp Basic installed for Bloodlines.

Yep, it's not intuitive at all, and while it seemed like it had a lot of potential, I really wanted to like it much more than I actually did.

 
So far all this Steam sale is doing for me is making me want a Squenix Humble Bundle.

...though I doubt a Squenix Humble would actually have the games I want, so it's really just making me angst that none of the Squenix games I want have been in dailies, flashes, or community choice votes yet.

Just in case of these scenarios:

A. Steam goes away and CEG never gets pulled.

B. Can't get Steam's offline to work (especially if I am mobile, no net nearby, and on my laptop).

C. Want to have another version installed w/ much different conflicting mods/patches/whatever.

Also, another thing I could try - take DRM-FREE's EXE and plaster it on top of Steam-version....see if that works. If it does - AWESOME! :D

Thank goodness, I've been too lazy to put any cards on the market since December, instant badges after I opened all my booster packs too. Then 50-60 cents gifted to me by GabeN everytime I craft a badge.

I hate to ask a newbie question... but here goes. I idled for some cards with the games I had, and I got a whole .76 for them. Free money is free money I suppose, but is there more to these cards than I'm seeing? Most of the games I play have been out for awhile and from what I've gathered it's the new games that make money. Hell, I didn't even get any cards for voting in the community sales since I'm not a level 8 or whatever, although I play Steam games probably 10-12 hours a week.

Did you know: You can idle as many games at once as your system can handle. Pretty nice considering all your doing is loading up to the main menu. (beware games with memory leaks)

This doesn't give you a chance to get more cards though, right? Just that you don't have to go and switch games once one game runs out of drops (leave it on overnight and stuff).

It does not. But in my experience (between 3-5 games running) it has lowered my drop rate and at times ceased dropping all together until I logged out and logged back into Steam.

TBH, this didn't even occur to me. I can run 4-5 games at a time, go to sleep, and make .50 or so a day. As a console player that is new to Steam, it just keeps getting better and better to me. As soon as I can shake my urge to see a game at $10 and think it is a deal I'll be alright.

For other Steam newbies, I highly recommend enhanced steam, it will answer 99% of your questions about when a game will go on sale, and the highest price you should expect to pay for it.

Idling multiple games with SAM used to work, but they fixed that a very long time ago.

 
Didn't previous Steam holiday sales used to have an easy add to cart button on the home page for any daily/flash/top seller deals? I'm not sure why they wouldn't want to make it easier to impulse purchase anything that looks interesting.

Shouldn't last too long. I was strictly a console gamer last generation, and most of the ps2 generation. Came back to pc and it took about a month before I am questioning if I should pay a whole 4 bucks on Witcher 2 cause I'm not sure when I'll actually play it, or I think about all the humble bundles, indie gala bundles, etc I can get with that money to where now it seems like 4 bucks for a game is a bit expensive. Ahh the enjoyment of being cheap lol
