At the time I had absolutely no hope of ever seeing the game on Steam. Then they released it and tons of their other crap. So yeah. :p

I like DRM free stuff (I have loads of games at GOG), but not when it's just .. -the game-.

Nether is not about fighting the NPC's at all really. We joke about it with my friends "Killing Nether????? SERIOUSLY? WHO KILLS NETHER IN NETHER!".

The game pretty much is, roll with some friends with some heavy weapons on a teamspeak, and stake out a part of the map, and then kill whoever you see.

It pretty much is a relatively small community, hackers are there but after like a long time you can recognize them by name, and just hop servers when one is on that server.

It in no way is "Never get a gun or bullets, but get killed by some p2w hacker" like people who compare it to dayz.

* Season Pass - Yes or No? Yes, it's a good value as it comes with the four major story DLC, the Mechromancer, and VH1

Going a la carte?

* Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep - Essential

* Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage - Great

* Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt - Good/Fair

* Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty - Good/Fair

* Psycho Pack - Fun, funny, and built especially for the melee player

* Mechromancer - Unique gameplay, a bit easier, best for lower-level co-op

* Vault Hunter 1 - If you're enjoying the game, why not keep it going?

* Vault Hunter 2 - Since you're still playing, why not have some exclusive loot and a repeatable arena?

* Headhunter Packs 1-5 - A few missions each, ranging from 1-2 hours. There's enough in the base game and story DLC to make these mostly un-needed. Buy only if you're a huge fan and want it all.

* Collector's Edition Upgrade - Skins, a useless grenade. No.

* Creature Slaughterdome - a pre-order bonus arena. Can only be done once per playthrough. Easy skip.

* Millions of skins - there's enough customization in the game already. Pick your faves if you must. Whatever.

I think Spelunky gets a bad rap for being tough (Steam even placed it in a "Difficult" community vote). It's no more difficult than your typical Mario game. It's just that there are no saves or continues. It's mostly fair and the control is spot-on. I HATE fashionably difficult games and I love Spelunky.

Anyway 1C are really shitty about not wanting to give out keys but otoh they do bundle a fair bit so sooner or later they'll try and squeeze some extra rubles by putting it in some crap bundle.

Re: Borderplands 2 keep in mind another 'sequel' is coming down the pipes so consider how interested you think you'd be in farming loot at 'max level' in BL2 as opposed to just waiting for the third one to drop in price.  I'd recommend base game + Dragon Keep and that's it.

What about that whole if you don't finish a level quick enough a ghost comes and kills your ass thing? Granted I haven't played it but I like Big Fish granny games and avoid indie hipster 2hard4u stuff like the plague so I only know what I've heard.

I found out what was causing my Metro Last Light issues. After Google searching for a bit I read about the Physx options but couldn't find them in the video options, so after a bit I gave up. Just checked again now and saw that (for some reason) they're located in the game options. Turned it down to normal and now the gave is butter smooth with everything else back up.

Damn Physx that's some badly optimized shit, it feels like every game that I use it on has issues with it I'm not sure why Nvidia doesn't either fix it or scrap it.

I really like Titan Quest, never gotten to the finish though. Found it to be decently hard, but I'm not an arpg player so that may have had an effect. The leveling seemed decent for making different styles of character but not being hard as hell to figure out like Path of Exile.

Yep - I've never finished TQ base-game nor Diablo 2 base-game.

Always something gets in the damn way of me playing those - and I really like the Hell out of those two awesome ARPG's.

I wind-up back to them eventually, Lord knows when - then I buy something else to play ASAP...and they get moved aside. AGAIN. And AGAIN. And AGAIN.

I have a feeling that BL2 is still going to be way better than the 'Prequel'. BL2+Season Pass or bust.

It's not a big deal. The ghost appears at 2:30 and there's a timer in the HUD. The levels are only four tiers high. If you aren't out the door already or at least in eye-sight of it, you just get this big, slow, dumb ghost lumbering towards you. It kills you if it touches you, but it can be slowed down, and some people even 'kite' it around the level so it turns gems into diamonds. It's there, primarily, to prevent you from just setting up camp and to keep you just a little uneasy.

I hate hard stuff. I play on easy most of the time because I just want to enjoy games. I don't get much out of having to constantly repeat things or playing to absolute perfection. Games like Super Meat Boy are neat, but I can't be bothered with more than a few levels at the most.

Spelunky is fantastic. It's constantly fresh, it's deep, it controls well, and it's just fun. Hazards are just as dangerous to your foes as to you. And rarely will you say something is "cheap". You'll say "boy was I ever dumb to try that"

The risks/rewards are set up so cleverly that you'll always be tempted to be greedy. As your skill level increases you'll find you can get away with more... but then the game will always tempt you with one more carrot that's... just... out... of... reach.

Titanquest was great.. about 6-8 years ago.  Does it really hold up nowadays?  I LOVED it back in the day, but there are a lot of games I can't go back and play anymore because it just irks me.

My problem w/ D2 + TQ isn't the gameplay and graphics. It's my damn "I see game on sale, must buy and play that NOW" mentality; or I keep pulling games out the backlog that just ain't D2 or TQ.

I like Mario because the control is excellent and the difficulty progresses so well. It's even a little easy at the beginning.

Spelunky is not much harder than that until you get to the later levels. But honestly, the later levels of any Mario game (SMW, for example) are on par with those in Spelunky. It's just that in Mario you can continue and you have more than one life.

Best of all, Spelunky is a game of secrets, and once you learn where certain items are, how to find hidden pathways, and how to deal with enemies and traps... it kinda evens out.

I die a lot in Spelunky. But I always find myself mashing that X button (you really want to play with a controller) for just one.. more.. round.

I'm more confused about how it plays. Some of the screenshots make it look like a third-person game but others make it seem more like an isometric game.

Bethesda discounts have been noticeably shitty since Easter. My personal theory is because Zenimax is desperate for cash since ESO is bombing as expected.

Another flash sale, another crappy community vote result (Warband's a repeat, everyone here should have Brutal Legend, and DS2 has been on sale a million times). Since the value of the Darksiders Franchise Pack I had in my inventory has now plummeted because of the DS sale, I decided to redeem it even though I have DS2, as the DLC a la carte during this sale is still more expensive than what I paid for the Franchise Pack . :wall:
