Listen, here is the dilemma, either get $2+ to spend on games, or craft the badge, get ONE card in return for the points and 3 things worth probably $0.03 each. It would take, and I did the math very lazily keep in mind, take roughly 2500 badges to be crafted for you to "statistically" get something in the "Precious" tier. Let alone one that people actually WANT

You didn't read the message Steam gave you closely enough.

You can't trade or use the market on that device for 7 days. Everything else still works fine. They just don't want somebody getting hold of your account on and using it so they don't let unknown devices have that access until after a waiting period.

 
So $5 and change left in my budget. What should I buy. I like rpgs and srpgs and already have shadowrun and dragonfall. I also like platformers and 2d shooters but am not great at either so moderate difficulty please.

that's the game you should get with your last couple bucks...what type of games did you say you like? rpgs? ever roleplay as a rat? a bad rat? bad rats takes the stellar gameplay of dark souls, combines it with the story of mass effect, the character development of walking dead, and brings it to life with a vibrant, living and breathing world that's immersive as fuck . the reason everybody says bad rats is horrible is so nobody will play it, because once you play bad rats, all other games pale in comparison.

also, the physics in the game make sense and aren't broken at all.

The actual look of the game isn't bad at all. However, the gameplay is apparently atrocious. I just know the Angry Joe review of it is AWESOME.

Before I head to bed: you guys should try The Fall, its only half off because it just came out but its still pretty cheap and NO ONE'S talking about it despite it looking amazing. Warning though; its super short

It is really fun and a free update added a lot more content to the game. Plus it has workshop support, but last time I checked a lot of the workshop maps were terrible.

The thought occurred to me, wouldn't it be awesome if Steam featured all of the losing Community vote games on sale for a 12-hour window on Monday @ 10AM PDT?  It would sure be better than the wrap-up of repeats on the last day. Who the hell doesn't like surprise sales?  Sadly, this is most likely not going to happen because Valve lacks ingenuity.

I'm puzzled as to why some of these games never see the light of day during a Steam sale, but apparently have the "opportunity" or "illusion" to make an appearance. We never really hear about developers being angry over seeing their game lose, or not that I can recall anyway at least. You'd think at least one Indie developer would break their silence at some point.

It makes me wonder whether some of those games were ever really an option to be discounted or if they were simply mirages of hope. Maybe it's a reason why we see a lot of repeats, because those are the only games developers/publishers submit to be part of the sale.

I think the losing votes thing is perhaps an over correction to the last couple sales. The last couple pretty much every vote ended up as a flash sale or daily, so they attempted to make it "matter" this time around.

We've heard devs speak of the way things are handled before. They give a base discount if they want and if they get featured a deeper discount, so no, it's not some strange conspiracy.

But in the very first shenanigans sale (Summer 2013) there were several community vote sales that never showed up after losing Also the daily immediately following the summer sale was Jade Empire at 75% off when it never dipped below 50% during the sale. To quote British pixie "Anything can happen"

 
I love the idea of putting games that lost on sale.  It would make a ton of sense and give others chances at getting the games they really want.

It's such a great idea, but it obviously won't happen.  :(  I fully expect to see all the AAA titles and popular games that have been discounted over and over again to show up in the encore sale.
