Ah, thought this might be rare but didn't even think to look near the registers. Glad they had a few copies by the actual movie section because I would have been pissed thinking they sold out.
Plenty of people over at Blu-ray.com are mentioning paint chipping on copies at their stores. Some are pretty faint so make sure to inspect it closely.
Great reminder. When picking them up myself I take time to choose the best condition one. Sometimes it may take a few seconds. Other times it might take a few minutes. But it gives me peace of mind.

And if I get home, and inspect that there was something I couldn't detect due to the insert then I say fuck!

For any NYC CAG'ers, Target up in Harlem had 3 left at 2:30. None of these were in the horrible security boxes but they all have very small paint chips.

For my fellow San Francisco Bay Area steelbook collectors, the two targets at Serramonte and Colma have about 40 of the Django steelbooks between the two when I picked mine up at 11:30 am. Didn't need to get up early afterall.

The St Pete store had tons of them available. I picked one up tonight. Bottom had a very minor scuff that I couldn't see until that box was off. Ugh so many more paint chips that I couldn't see until I got the wrapper off. W/e

Would you know if this store has a Bourne Ultimatum SB?

I'd take a train from Flushing to get it! It wouldn't be the farthest I've traveled for a SB.

I honestly didn't even check. This is not the one I usually go to and this was actually the 1st time I went to this location.

Are you guys into movies and blu-ray releases in general as much as you are into steelbooks?

The reason I ask is that I'm really starting to wonder if The Whole Bloody Affair is really ever going to see the light of day as a release. Wondering what people's opinions and speculations are.

I'm actually going to Philly in June to see it but I'm sorta still surprised it's still not been released as a whole.
I think the public outrage over the idiot exec who blabbed about scamming customers put the kibosh on those plans.
But why not just release that version and that's it? He was making it seem like there would be 8 re-releases and repackages.
I honestly didn't even check. This is not the one I usually go to and this was actually the 1st time I went to this location.
Oh ok no worries then. I'm just trying to complete the Bourne SB collection.

The hunt continues...

Ok I am sorry ahead of time for asking this but I now have over 100 steelbooks and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best place to get plastic sleeves in bulk to protect all my G1 & G2 sized steelbooks. Can't seem to find a reasonable deal on them. Thank you ahead of time.

Damn it, how'd I miss that? They sold out of the evening shows but the Saturday matinee still says "Off Sale" whatever that means :(
It's available online
I've gone to 3 different stores that claim to have it, but they always refer me to the regular version.

They share the same item number is what I am told hence the confusion.

Yep, I gave everyone the heads-up a few pages back that it was on the verge of selling out.
Just a heads-up, Aladdin is selling really fast, and Zavvi apparently increased the limit from 4,000 to 5,000, but it's still going to sell out very soon. Get it while you can!
They only had night shows when I bought tix. Those two shows sold out in under 2 hours.
Just got back from Target, I got there at 8:15 there were people already at the register buying the steelbooks, I got one. While I was at the checkout I saw a fat neckbeard with about 10 steelbooks, and looked at him with disgust.
If your store was doing their job they should have limited him to 5 per the ad except in NM where they can't limit by law.

Cashiers rarely know about any limits on merchandise and if the customer complains management will usually let them buy it.

I'm a sucker for steelbooks sometimes, but I hate the look of those. Them all having that same comic book look to them kind of ruins it.

i agree. I hate all of the comic series ones. ill grab Big Lebowski though cause I love the movie and the spine.

I really like the Shaun of the Dead and HF UK steels.

Forgive me if someone has already posted about this; I scanned back a few pages and didn't see any mention of it, but on May 7th it looks like Amazon is getting a ton of steelbooks that were previously Best Buy exclusives.

Do a search for [blu-ray steelbook] (including the brackets) and you'll find them all.

I mentioned it here: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10616121&postcount=499
Warner is releasing a huge wave of Steelbooks in the US. Some of them appear to be former BB exclusives, but many haven't reached our shores before. They're possibly doing this for their 90th anniversary.

They all release May 7th. Most, if not all of them are up on Amazon already too, just enter the UPC on amazon and it'll show up

All credit goes to kevin87 at Blu-ray.com for the list. Only some have pictures, which are spoiler'd

Do we know if these Warner rereleases will include inside art? I'm hoping atleast the steelbooks such as Braveheart or Chinatown which haven't been released in the US before will include art...
