^ sort of off topic but I think it's kind of weird how target is stocking their rerelease metal packs. I've gone to four different local targets and each has only had some of the metal packs, but not all. I don't think it's someone buying up all their inventory because there really is no rhyme or reason to it. One had the first three X-Men movies but no Origins: Wolverine or First Class and Aliens and Prometheus but no Alien others had X1 and X3 but no X2 or Origins.

I have yet to find one that locks like they had at anytime carried all the metal packs.

 
I think the problem is how they packaged the metalpaks when they shipped it. I went to a Target the week before the "official" release of the packs last Sunday and asked them to pull out some of the movies I wanted by DPCI. When he came back he said the box came with 3 movies per box (with like 2-3 of each title in that box so about 6 movies in total per box). From what I remembered, the boxes went like this:

Box 1:

X-Men

X-Men 2

X-Men The Last Stand

Box 2:

X-Men Origins Wolverine

X-Men First Class

The Wolverine

Box 3:

Alien

Aliens

Prometheus

Box 4:

Fight Club

Robocop

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

So chances are if your store put all of them out at once and let's take Box 3 for example. They put all 6 movies out at once and everyone bought up Alien and Aliens but still had a bunch of Prometheus' left. Most likely they wont put out the other copies of Aliens unless someone specifically asks for it or they run out of Prometheus and have to pull out another complete box. Seen several stores like this with a bunch of First Class and Origins but no copies of The Wolverine at all. Just my guess.

 
in order to pre order a steelbook from best buy, do you just pre order the bluray from the website?

asking bc ive never pre-ordered a movie before, bestbuy doesnt take movie pre-orders in store, and I really want that Winter Soldier steel book

Depends on the movie. They have done some steelbook in-store pre-orders, though I think it's been a while.

If you do pre-order it for shipping and it doesn't ship with other items, you take a good chance that someone will pack it in a plastic mailer, not a bubble mailer or box, and it'll get damaged in shipment.

It's 0.99 GBP for shipping. They started using envelopes instead of the little boxes though. I got my last steelbook slightly bent with a dent. I would have been mad had it been an expensive/OOS steelbook. But it was only Pan's Labyrinth. I liked the art, but it was relatively cheap.

Got another steelbook from Zavvi in today. It's fucking bent again.

I have 3 in transit from them still. If any of them are damaged, fuck it, I'm cancelling all my steelbooks from them.

 
Zavvi is clearencing out a bunch of Steelbooks, including Iron Man 3, the Toy Story Steels, and the Die Hard Steels.
 
Up in the air about it. I like that it's not a close-up of Optimus' head like the last 3 Steels, but at the same time it looks like the DVD cover.
 
Wait, the Steelbook IS the regular cover? Dammit.

EDIT: OK they are different, but they still look a bit too similar to my tastes.
