I sold my slipped non-SB #5 and "standard" #6 SB when I bought the BB exclusive SBs a few months back. Sucks that I haven't opened any of them and the prices dropped a little from the time I purchased them.

Sorry guys been out of the loop for a while.

Is Age of ultron at BB special packaging not steelbook, right?

Any other place had AOU steelbook other then Zavvi?

Best Buy has two different versions of the AoU SB case, and I'm not sure if either is the same as the Zavvi release.

It was a much easier decision when they were $19.99.

FYI, my two SB's of AoU ordered on 8/17 are still backordered.
Agreed on both points, for both the decision (which I made) and the backorder (which I have on my order for both).

EDIT:

LE packaging version of Jurassic Park 3D - $33.28 @ Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Jurassic-World-3D-Blu-ray/dp/B00NYC65M8

Looks like the same as the 2D version, for about $13 more.

There seems to be nothing listed for the non-LE version, so I guess this is it for release.

I'm at my Bedt Buy to pick up Destiny and the same d-bag is here to buy up all the FF7 steel books. He's in front of the store bragging about his eBay profits.

Did you ask him if you could buy one of them from the store before he walks out? That would be awesome.

Man, I really hope my F&F7 SBs aren't damaged from shipping.  I won't get them until tomorrow and I won't be able to get to BB until early evening so I don't have much hope that there'll be any left.

I honestly doubt that the store would let him buy their entire stock. There was about 30-40 FF7 steelbooks on display at my local store.

There were 6 at the display for FF7 at my store and he took all 6 of them. I dont know if there were more on the new release display but he headed that way next.

I was just in Best Buy 20minutes after open this morning and they only had about 7 total copies of the Fast and Furious 7 steelbook.  They also didn't have every other older steelbook.  They had 2-3 steelbook copies of about four of the older movies.  This is a large volume store with an anime section.

I was just at a smaller volume Best Buy an hour ago.  They had no more FF7 steelbooks left from what I could see.  Had about 7 of the Cinderella lenticular slip exclusives.  They were well stocked with the 007 steelbooks though - around a dozen of each - so those may yet get a decent price drop in the future.

Edit:  Just received my FF7 steelbook in the mail and it came in great shape!  It came in a cardboard mailer but there was some extra protection in that sturdy cardboard pieces were placed above and below the steelbook in the mailer.  This is a great idea - I hope all future BB steelbooks are mailed this way!

My backordered Mad Max steelbook just shipped from BB. I am guessing there might be more available soon.

My BB had about 6-7 when I got there, which was a little before 4 PM. Just perfect, especially since it went back up in price.

That same store also didn't have any F&F7 SBs left by that time. They did have what I think are 3 slots for the SBs on the cardboard stand but I don't think it could've held 30 like that other store mentioned before.

Lucky you. I scoured the entire blu ray section looking for that steelbook in hopes of a restock but no luck :(

Next time, if you have time, grab as many steelbooks that you can and either hold them till he leaves store or hide them behind the regular version of the same movie when he's not looking.
I would have done the following:

1) Asked to speak with the manager on duty, point out the douchebag in question and ask the manager why it's OK for the store to allow said douchebag to clear out the store's inventory on an item.

2) Call BB corporate, ask to speak with Executive Customer Relations and throw the store manager under the bus.

3) Snap a picture of the douchebag in the process of raiding the store and have it on-hand when contacting BB corporate.

Went to go pick up my Furious 7 steelbook today and they didn't have it  even though I called and they had it on hold for me I'm getting really sick of this Shit you pre-order the movie and you still don't get it I don't get it they over 100 pre-order cards out and I used a pre-order card

I highly recommend going on release day to take care of this business. If you can't make it on release day, you may as well kiss the SB version goodbye.

If you do, make sure to skip starmask2k3, since he was more than happy about my possibility about not getting one. Figured he deserved the same courtesy.

Don't you just love it when karma works out?

Next time just order them from the website and have it shipped. They were available for prepurchase for what seems like months.

Mad Max might want a word with you on that one.

Mad Max was actually up for preorder on the website for a while too - at least a month if I remember correctly. It only went out of stock right after they lowered the price to $19.99 and gave the digital copy away with preorder. My memory could be a little hazy but I remember holding off on preordering it for a while until the price went down.

Agreed, though once Mad Max dropped to $19.99, it was gone after a couple days' time and was a cluster fuck online from that point forward. I almost missed it, though I called the store on day of release, made them secure it for me and was there the next morning.

The main issue with in-store preorders is that the SKU seems to be different on the pre-order card than the item itself, especially if it comes with a CinemaNow digital copy on pre-order.

I always do my preorders online for shipping now due to stores handing them so poorly.

Go re-read the quoted post, you illiterate fuck. You hoped I wouldn't get a Mad Max and I said that I hoped you would suffer the same fate.

Looks like you did two weeks later, so that's karma paying you back. Enjoy.

This pointless bickering started well before that, probably before I started following the thread.

This is what I advise everyone who really wants a BBE steelbook to do going forward. In store stock has been so terrible lately - I have yet to see a copy of the Mad Max Fury Road or FF7 steelbooks in store, and I go there often. I have also yet to receive a damaged steelbook in the mail from them yet (knock on wood). They will usually send them in a cardboard mailer (which is surprisingly sturdy) and even started included small BR-sized pieces of cardboard inside the mailer to further protect the steelbook. That's how they sent my FF7 steelbook - it was very well protected.

The last number of steelbooks I have received have been packed that way. Regular BD items the same way as well, I think, if they're single items or two items.

Guess it's just a wait until Age Of Ultron ships from BBY. Next month, I think.

For F7, I actually ordered one copy online and picked up a copy in-store on release day. The copy I was mailed had a dent on the spine that looked like it didn't come from shipping so I ended up retuning that one. But out of all the others I've orderd from bestbuy.com this is the only one that has come with any damage.
