Suikoden II problem

I has a problem with my copy of Suikoden II. I just got to the part when the people in the fort rescue you and you start gathering recruits. It won't load properly when I cross the bridge to the southwest. I step on it, the screen fades to black, but nothing happens. I took my disc to Hastings to get it resurfaced, but the same problem persists. Is this a common problem? Is there any solution for it? Thanks in advance.

I've owned 2 copies of Suikoden II at one point.. beat the game with them. No problems at all. Is the disc scratched? Otherwise might just be a defect.

Not much you can do... I'd try a disc cleaner.

tried cleaner then got it resurfaced. It LOOKS perfect.
