Tax on $0 is $0. :)
some States charge tax on the value precoupon. My wife coupons a ton and she almost always has to pay the sales tax on free items.

I was going to use BB's 50% bonus with a pre-order, and then I added up the same games on Amazon. The total was $10 more without a bonus...granted, mostly older games, but kind of surprising.
I have this sneaking suspicion that TIVs are going to drop like a rock tomorrow night... hrmm :cold:
I never did get a December issue. I got my issue for January on Thursday
Meh, means I'm not getting mine then. I signed up for it and the guy is like "Is this Address correct" - I say no, no it's not correct, he says "Well, once its in the system I can't change it" :error:

How it's in the system when I didn't verify it is beyond me.
Best Buy's trade in values are already terrible and even with the 50% worse than Gamestop's!
They're not that bad if you're just trading back in stuff you got uber cheap in the first place.:D

I'll probably get the headset. I bought a shitty one from mad catz and after not using it for a while it shit out on me.
Dang thats a sweet tradein promo. Although I wanted to grab Max Payne 3 anyways.

And is that LA Noire for 10?
If you have a decent PC, Steam has a MUCH better deal today:

$12 for LA Noire with ALL the DLC ($30 worth) for the better looking version of the game.

For the headset...how does BBY do their coupons? What Im asking is, if I were to get the $10 headset and use a $20 coupon...would I have $10 extra to spend on something else? I know grocery stores for example are 50/50. If I were to have a $2 coupon for a $1 item, about half the stores out there would give me the $1 overage to spend and if it isnt used, its simply lost. If BBY allows overages, this could potentially be crazy...
How does just dance 3 play on kinect?
Depends on what you want from it. If you want something ultra-technical that tracks if your arm is at 70 degrees when it should be 90, no JD3 fails at this. But if you want a game that 'reasonably' tracks up to four people who are just having a good time, I'd say that JD3 is more "fun" to play than dance Central (havent played DC 2).

As far as actual scoring, JD3 is much more forgiving than DC1.

Can someone explain real quick how the BB trade in works? Do I just walk in give them my game, and they give me cash and a hug? I have some old games that I migh ge 10 bucks off of but don't want to if its just credit.

I believe they give you a gift card (To spend your money within a Bestbuy store or online) instead of credits. I don't know for sure as it will be my first time trading with them.
Best Buy's trade in values are already terrible and even with the 50% worse than Gamestop's!
Gotta be really picky with BB to get a good TIV, and it's only worth it with that 50% tacked on. Traded in a bunch of games that were $2-$6 at GS, but managed to eek $6-$14 each out of those same games at BB. Which got me Skyrim for $5.
Lol...what a joke. I can get $30 for Skyrim at freaking Gamestop but I get it for $27 at bestbuy with the bonus.

The Dominate Force! :D
1) That's only a $3 difference, not much of a "joke". What's the cheapest Gamestop sold it for?
2) A lot of people only paid $30 for it at BB via sale/price match. At worst it's a $3 long term rental. Or just get your $3 extra from GS.
3) You're trading in Skyrim? =)

No idea why I'm getting BB defensive, but I've personally done tons better at BB than GS.
why does it say instore only???? the price of la noire wont be 10$ online for pickup in store???? why not?
They're hoping that L.A. Noire and these $10 headsets will be enough to get some shoppers to drag their asses outta the house on NYD and while there for the $10 items decide they need a new HDtv to watch the day's football games on(with a $100 Monster brand HDMI cable, of course;).

My closest BB is like 10 minutes drive from here, so I'm definitely going out tomorrow for the headset(assuming the coupon works with it;)) and maybe I'll buy a new/sealed copy of LAN for the hell of it.

 You're serious? BB will not give you the 'extra $10'. If the coupon works, you get a free headset out of the deal that you can do with as you please. Nothing more, nothing less.
"50% extra trade-in credit when you trade in any game"

It seems BBY is really struggling getting used game trade-ins.
thats because their base values have dropped to insulting levels.

My January issue hasn't come in yet. What if they say I just have to wait until the issue comes in when I ask to use a coupon from one of the mags in store?

As a gamer club member, are we entitled to use coupons from the beginning of the month and can thus demand (nicely) to use their coupon?

I'm trying to think of a way around the presumed rejections since my best buys are hard-asses.

Help?

Worth a shot... Like I said, I've gotten overage at plenty of other retail stores using coupons. I would calculate the overage and spend just a little over that amount and walk out the four with tons of crap for a couple pennies...

As far as I know that's never happened at BB, though they did have a $10 off sale on ALL Prima guides a couple of years ago that made some guides they dropped to $9.99 in-store come up as $.00 once they hit total.

That shit was fun as hell to try explaining when it happened.:whistle2:#
Even for $10 I would avoid L.A Noire. I hated that game with a passion.
I didn't hate it but it wasn't nearly as good as people made it out to be.

agreed. the game had no replay value. the main character was a tool and the decisions were predetermined, you could completely wrong and still, be right.

It is actually one of my favorite games of all time, and a steal at 10 dollars. Agree to disagree, I guess.

Bring your games in to the kiosk to trade in. Make sure you have an ID and a thumb. You'll sign a paper. They'll give you a gift card and that's it. Although I've gotten a hug before, YMMV.

I seen one of the hottest chicks I have ever seen doing the trade ins at Best Buy. She was very knowledgable about games as well. I wish I could've gotten that hug, etc.. Etc.

totally agree.. I quit playing when I found out who the serial killer was.. complete garbage of a plot payoff.. even before that the game was a chore to play..

this funny or die video sums it up..

Ok as far as the coupons, there is no cash value for them what so ever for those asking. So if the coupon is more then the value of said item there is no extra credit afterwards. And as for trade in value most stores will match sales and the like but never the trade in values. Also the coupons from last magazine wont work now so it is all the new ones. And as for the people that have them but don't have the mag yet. You can ask and if you show your unlock card then more then likely the game specialist (Yes I know it is a stupid name) will help you out and just scan the mags coupon. I know I do for people at my store. And yes I am a best buy employee and in the gaming area for it as well.

the la noire coupon from the gamer mag has a printed expiration date of 12-31 so it most likely will be void by the time stores open tomorrow. good luck to those of you who wish to try though. i ordered the complete ed. from amz for 29.99 w/ amz credit but im hearing so many mixed opinions i wonder if i should just stick with the $10 vanilla copy. decisiones decisiones.
Best Buy's trade in values are already terrible and even with the 50% worse than Gamestop's!
$hit I made a killing buying games that I pm'd to $30-$40 & traded in for $48. Whoever got my games basically got new games in return.

FYI, best buy has been killing it TIV-wise but they have tanked lately due to post black Friday/Christmas sale prices. Hence the poor values on batman, uncharted 3 and ac:revelations all big sale items.

yeah iv been trading lots of 'new' games in as well. it feels good in a karma sense that i benefit off flipping these new games, and some person will get a cheaper copy 'used' when it hasnt even been touched. good stuff all around.
