Super 8 Blu-ray @ Best Buy $8 (back ordered,choose in store pickup)
I didn't think this movie was that good.
That's an understatement, this movie was awful. Unless you're going to get all geeked up from nostalgia because this reminds you of E.T., get ready to be bored out of your mind for 112 minutes.

Nice! Thanks OP, never saw this movie and have been building my Blu Ray collection. Got it for instore pick up where I'm gonna grab KOA and some $5 blus with the upgrade program

Got the last copy in my local store this morning because I saw this thread. Not sure if I will like it but for 8 bucks I'll give it a shot.
Eff you haters. The movie was great.
Agreed. Not sure what was supposed to be boring about it, unless you need an explosion every 5 mins to hold your interest.

Thanks OP!

Or maybe because there is no spinal decapitation like in Predator movie.

I'm with the few people in here, I actually liked the movie. It was slower paced but not every movie I watch needs to be action-packed, "explosions every 5 minutes" for it to hold my attention.

For $7.99, I'll gladly add this to my bluray collection.

Educational, too. Who knew a train derailment goes on for minutes and packs an explosive punch that nearly rivals Little Boy and Fat Man?

Please, people: only store biological specimens in approved rail containers!

Ah yes, because the characters were an annoying bunch of kids and the story was crap (
kids make a movie on summer break, encounter tortured alien, convince it to go on living a happy life despite its previous imprisonment... not exactly engaging, especially with the slow pacing...
) that must mean that I'm simple and only like explosions every five minutes.

Lots of people on here like the movie, I get it, because that's why I rented this movie a month or two back thinking it was a sure winner. Instead I felt like I wasted a perfectly good dollar. I just posted to say it might not be a good blind buy for everyone. That is all, didn't mean to ruffle your feathers.

You did not watch the trailers at all or read non spoiler reviews of the movie then, clearly. It was always going to be about the kids, not army specialists going into the town to contain a mess like its Black Mesa.

I "hate" E.T. I don't mind it but im not in love with it.

With Super 8

Minor start of movie spoilers...
I was intrested in the kids lives frankly the 3 main ones. the kid who's mom died, the fat kid and the girls dad who "caused" boy A's mom to die.

Major end movie spoilers

In the end the movie was clearly about the theme of letting go. The monster/alien letting go of all the pain and anger caused by human testing on it. The boy letting go of the locket with his moms picture. the dad letting go over the anger and grief of his wife's death and bonding with his son for once since the accident.

Never watch Stand By Me, E.T., The Goonies, Boyz in the Hood (first 10 minutes) or any other movie with a bunch of annoying kids.

I'll buy that crap Super 8 bluray off of you if you don't want it anymore.

Thanks for the link - didn't see it in store today, but I'll be near a BB tomorrow for In Store pick-up.

Have heard good things from sources I care about, so worth a shot.

Super 8 was pretty boring. I can appreciate the quality of the film, but I would literally never watch the movie again, so it would be $8 wasted. I like to be kept engaged in my movies (not necessarily through explosions, but by comedy, twists, thrill, suspense, or mystery) and Super 8 really lacks in that department.
