Surround Sound Help

So a few weeks ago, my brother was pulling out the optical cord connected to my AV Receiver and PS3 and broke off the end of the cord in my receiver.

Any suggestions on how to get this piece out?

Or any suggestions on how to do surround sound without the optical cord?

My receiver does not have an HDMI port.
