Tales from the Pawn Shop(s)!
Fix'd
what? Is that a joke?

And Shaq-Fu Goozex. Like Punkmaggit said, look at the queues for all the good games. I can sell/trade for a lot faster on CAG
By the way, don't ask certain people to go with you to the pawn shop. My mom thought I said porn shop and looked at me weird for a few days :p. I scored Tales of Symphonia and Shadow Hearts: Covenant for 5 bucks at pop at my local one. Take care :)
Wow!! nice find though.

Sorry, I had sold a Sonic CD to someone on here with a Sonic fetish who is female. I could've sworn it was you. My sincerest apologies.

I could've sword the address you sent me was addressed to someone with a female name. *hides head in shame* Again, apologies. (seriously, I'm embarassed by this whole thing)

^ You know, I think I might know why you think that. My paypal account that I paid you through wasn't in my name. That's probably it. Don't feel embarassed.
After I got it home, though, I noticed there was a GB Player on the bottom of it (no disc tho). Is the player alone worth anything?
You might be able to get a couple bucks for it, but it's pretty much worthless w/o the disc(since it's needed to bootup). Does the pawn shop have some kind of return policy? Might also want to go back and ask to see if they still have the disc.

They didn't notice the GB Player was even on it.

Edit: Passed on a disc-only copy of Turok for 360 for $13. Should I have gotten it? Is it fun?

FF Tactics (BL, complete)-$3
FF IX (BL, no manual)-$3
Silhouette Mirage (complete)-$8

Passed on a complete God Of War: COO for $15 & CoD4 for $20

Castlevania: SOTN (BL, complete)-$6
Koudeka (sp?) (complete)-$6
King Of Fighters 99 (complete)-$6

Passed on Alundra 2 complete for $6 & Mario Party 7 (no mic or outer box) for $10

That was never even on there. Nor was FFT, Silhouette Mirage, or Castlevania SOTN. I need to make a master list of every rare PS1, GC, PS2, Xbox, & N65 games & put a * next to the ones I found. Anyone know of any pre-made lists of "rare" games so I dont have to make one myself?

Mario Party 5 & SSBM (disc only for both)-$10

They are pretty scratched but they're all hairlines & I can get them fixed for free. I just picked up Melee because I am about to put MPs 4-7 on Ebay & figured it would be a good addition to boost sales.

OK, I compiled a list of all the rare/uncommon PS1 games I know of. If I am missing any, plmk.

* indicates I have found it black label, complete
" indicates I have found it disc only
^ indicates Greatest Hits
If more than 1 symbol is next to a game, I have found it multiple times

Just from looking at your list quickly segasonic, the ones I think you missed for psx are brigandine, tail concerto, parasite eve 1 and 2.

There's probably a few others. Thanks for the list btw.

He also missed Tomba and Tomba 2. I played a demo of the original Tomba and I'd still love to find a copy of it to play. Same deal with Intelligent Qube, but I know my chances of finding a non Ebay priced copy of either is slim to nil nowadays.

I actually HAVE Alundra(disc only) from the Gamestop 75% off clearance from over a year or more ago. I also found a single disc from the Arc The Lad Collection in the menagerie of games they had sitting there in the massive binload they had of them, but I never did find the rest.

I'm not sure if it's so much 'rare' as maybe uncommon, but what about Silent Hill as well? As for the game list, I gotta ask what kind of game Beyond The Beyond is, since I swear I saw multiple copies of it in the 75% off bin and I passed every one of them up.

Segasonic01,

Einhander, Ehrgeiz, R-Types, G-Darius, Blast Lacrosse, Worms Armageddon, Team Buddies, Poy Poy, and Silent Hill are some of the rare titles that I can think of not on your list.

I can honestly say that Poy Poy is one of the worst fuckin' games I've ever played in my life and I've played ET on the Atari 2600 and State Of Emergency. I had no idea it was a 7 on Digit Press' rarity guide. I traded it to another CAG a while back for a copy of Treasures Of The Deep for PS1.

It must be rare because people got sick from the putrid gameplay and broke the discs in half. It was truly atrocious.

Ah well....

How the fuck did I forget Silent Hill, one of my favorite games ever?! Tomba 1 I found for $3 & Tomba 2 I found for $6, so I put those as well.

Behold the pawn shop King! :applause:

Not at full price, it wasn't. It released a bit after GTA III and before the hype machine for it had died down completely. So many people(myself included) thought that that game was going to be some phenomenal title, much like many of us considered GTA III at the time.

However, it got old quick when it seemed like more than half of the missions were 'find this person, escort them to point b'. When it was initially being touted as a 'riot simulator' by some, that's what I expected.

I expected a game where you got points for looting and pillaging and had a chance to annihilate other people from the crowd if they got in your way.

It was the last game I actually pre-ordered for any system, though I do admit that I recently pre-ordered and bought Mercenaries 2.

We've got an AmeriPawn in town over here. Problem is, some of the prices are a bit high. In the trip I made recently they had a Sega Master System for $60, PS1 for $30 and some NES games that ranged from $3 to $10 (looked to be cartridge only).

We also have a Shallow Grave in town and a Disc Replay out by work. Went to look for a Saturn and found out that each had a $40 tag on them.

Just no luck at pawns and resales out here.

AmeriPawn...no shit. I worked at that store for about two years! Now I'm at Pawn King in Merrillville. We price most of our systems and common games much lower than Ameripawn, but since I'm here now, we put the rare stuff up on ebay.

Oh shit. I work in Westfield Mall over in Merrillville. I'll have to come and find you guys and take a look and say "Hi."

I'm down the street in Schererville. Got any Dreamcast stuff by chance?

Nothing special, Tony Hawk something and maybe a sonic adventure. We've got some decent Saturn stuff though, Shinobi, Sonic R, a couple more decent titles.

Segasonic, you have the best pawn shops I have ever heard of. You find so many rare, good games for cheap. IF I find anything rare, and thats a big IF, its nowhere near as cheap as you get them for. My city and surrounding areas suck.

So, there is a local store around me that deals with Video games, vinyls, comics, and books. I had previously found a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Shadow Hearts: From the New World guide there. I decided to take 1 each of my penny guides (nothing rare or anything) and trade them in. It was about 25 guides. Here is what I came out of there with in return for them...

I'd say I made out pretty good, eh? :D

That's the exact MGS guide my one local shop had in stock for what seemed like forever. It figures though, that once I found out what it was worth, it was LONG GONE.

Nice haul though, Antic. Wanna trade one of those RPG guides for one of my uber common Crysis guides that I now have TEN of? lol

Well, the vast collection of shitty ones I had sold for $100-150 to the shop near me, so not that much. But almost anything RPG related has the tendency to go UP in value.

BTW, you bought that tv from the local Kmart, didn't ya? They told me all of the issues with it, but the crack and watermarked screen were pretty evident.

If CC or BB near there had the same one in stock, I was gonna try n pm there to get a cheap HDtv. But in the end you saved me money by taking that pos from the store. So thanks.
My most valuable guide is Dead Rising, followed by FE: POR, FE: SS, and plain old FE.
I never expected to see Dead Rising that high. I swear not long ago it was going for 3.00 or something. Weird...

EDIT: I wanna say I have about 20-30 guides that are hanging around $30 something. I have some old ones like the Super Mario RPG guide and Earthbound that go for a decent amount. I'd make a killing if I sold all of my guides, but I could never do that though.

Counting up the guides you have pictured it looks like they did about a 1:1 trade so yeah I'd say you made a killing :D

I just picked up the pikmin official nintendo guide and the kingdom hearts guide at my goodwill for about 2 bucks each. Any idea on how much those go for?
