I thought Tales of Innocence looked good, but I have a feeling this next one is going to be mind blowing.

Translated Famitsu article about Tales

One reason to expect something better is that ToI was developed by Alfa System, and Team Symphonia/Vesperia should be free now.

Then again, we dont know who exactly is working on it.

I dont think ToI was bad or anything. It got 35/40 from Famitsu

The 35/40 ToI got is the second highest score any tales game ever got. Right now I am about halfway through ToI and it is an amazing game. I would say it is going to be hard to top ToI.

Ah, what a shame.. another Tales game we'll never see. I am still toying with the idea of importing toi.

The are already bad for passing up Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Rebirth, and Tales of Destiny (PS2)

As for Capcom the only bad thing they did is ruining Sengoku Basara series in the US
i believe that its going this game is going to come. If it doesn't Namco is going to be officially as bad as Crapcom
I like your optimism. I hope it will come, too. ..but they already passed on toi, so I see no reason why they'd bring Heart over. I was surprised they brought over Tales of the World. I wonder how well Tales games sell..? I imagine it's not a huge fan base, so it's probably not worth their time.

Wasn't Symphonia one of the best selling games in the series?

What's the logic in not releasing these DS games in the US? Are they afraid that the Nintendo fanbase will remember Symphonia and buy a bunch of copies?

The character art by Inomata is as good as always, but WTF is with those ugly CG models? I hope they re-think their choice and take them out (whatever their role in the game may be).

What does CG mean? The FF looking cut scene characters or the hand drawn ones.

As of Dec 07 NPD:

Tales of Abyss - 68k
Tales of Legendia - 74k
Tales of Symphonia - 465k (GC stopped tracking Feb 07)
Tales of the World - 30k

And yet, the PS2 got 2 games..? Needless to say, I'm pretty stunned by those numbers. I figured that Legendia did better than Symphonia and hence why there was another game on the PS2.:whistle2:\

Japan's a different beast.

Symphonia was released in '04. Given the length of development cycles, its reasonable that they would not release another AAA game that deep into what is basically a dead platform (Gamecube in '06). Both Legendia and Abyss were '06 (US). This is why marketshare matters. Even if a game's fanbase might largely be on another system, its very dificult to look at the PS2/GC install base situation and go GC.

I do remember hearing that the PS2 port in Japan eventually outsold the GC version though.

Not sure what you mean here...? I'm just saying that after Legendia's poor sales (compared to ToS), that the GC would've seen another Tales game rather than the PS2.

But yeah, I forgot Symphonia came out as the GC was dying and about the PS2 port which did better.

Mine was just another random comment that had nothing to do with yours.
Wow, the game style and backgrounds are nice. I hate the CG models though, my eyes might start bleeding through the cutscenes.
There's gonna be two versions of the game: one with Production I.G. animations, one with CG, from what I hear.

Wow that seems odd. Where did you find this information so I can inform and update the OP
