The following is all jacked from jimijumper's "The Bona-Fide Target Clearance Thread XX IS NOW CLOSED!!!" thread linked below

Previous thread:

XX

Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, DCPI # and online item # in RED!!!

For example:

$4.98
123-45-6789 Random Game Name #12345678

DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself.

DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI #'s or Online Item #'s that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

New link to search for items using Target's online item #:

Find In Store

You can also take the DPCI # and search on Target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there.

(HUGE PROPS TO mitch079 FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL INFO!!!)

If you are having trouble with the above search here are more detailed directions:

Take the DPCI #s and search on target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there. If there isn't an exact match, try googling Target and the DPCI #. For instance, on the 500 gb Seagate hard drive, it doesn't show up on the site. Google shows the online # as 13730271. Then, you can plug the online # in http://m.target.com/fiats/t- and put the online number after the - so the link would be: http://m.target.com/fiats/t-13730271. Hit enter, plug in your zip and it should work.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing in-store as often price tags will not be correct:

1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to BigDirty for that^

I am starting off this new thread going back toOctober 1st, 2012 February 2013.
Please refer to the prior thread for any items before then.

i was in in a socal target and saw 3 games on clearance. one was guitar hero aerosmith for ps3 on the endcap with no clearance tag but multiple copies were there. didn't bother to check price.

in the regular game section Transformers: Fall of Cybertron (360 was 54.99 or 44.99) - dont recall

then i spotted this beauty. Batman Arkham City GOTY for 14.99 (360). was tempted to buy but passed. ps3 version was marked at regular price, didn't feel like asking if ps3 version was also clearanced as they had several copies of both in stock

14.99? Or 14.98? Just wondering cause it also could have been in the used section.

I've pretty much given up on clearance at my local Target.

They either have overpriced crap or nothing at all. For a while they used to have some decent finds, but that disappeared over a year ago. I'm fairly positive there is a flipper or two that always hits it because I asked an associate one time where the clearance was and his reply was "someone came in early and bought everything".

Sorry for the dumb question, but is the goty with all dlc on a disc or on a paper? I already have the non- goty game from the collector's edition.

Is it worth it? How much does the regular trade in for at BB or gamestop?
Yeah, and richer than you I'm sure. ;)
Aha, I see. Hence your need to sell video games. Don't mind me, though, just a little miffed that none of the targets in my area ever have anything good. Blaming a scalper just felt right at the time. Carry on.

What? Rich people can't sell now? It's not like it's my primary source of income, it's just the deal-hunter and businessman in me. Yes, I do own a medium sized business. :)

Flame suit on. ;)

It comes on a disc!
10 out of 10 Game of the Year Edition seeing another price drop? Better pick that up fast, folks!
Definitely want it before stores start stocking the ugly gray case version. (Aka PH)
I have noticed most Targets by me have stopped putting clearance games in clamshells on the open racks. (Maybe to stop squatters)

They now put them on an end cap facing the TVs usually with some generic sign for video games. In the glass prism display.
Mine does this as well. I need to make a check in tomorrow to see if I can find any Batman GOTYs. Hopefully for the PS3.

Just out of curiosity, how does this forum feel about store specific finds? Say, if I saw a good open-box deal at my local Target, should I mention it here? Or is this strictly for more widespread markdowns and sales?

People mention open box or online item returns which can sometimes be more widespread. (Example: kingdom hearts 3ds). However, it also gets people excited more so for no reason. Be specific about the kind of tag and you should have your bases covered!

The purpose of this thread is for clearance, which can end up being widespread, however feel free to post as-is items as well, since they can also appear at different stores as well

Okay, well this particular item is a re-package, so it's not going to be widespread. So I guess I shouldn't mention it.

You have piqued my curiosity however!

Well, it won't be much help to you, in NY. Okay, I'll just say that it's a deal on a Vita hardware bundle in the Virginia Beach area. Any CAG in the area looking for a Vita can PM me for details. Perhaps this way I don't get anyone's hopes up for nothing.

Some items are more prone to repackages, for certain reasons such as theft, there was a lego book at several PA targets that I saw were in clearance so I look, they were "repackaged" because someone stole the lego guy from the book

I dont like the 10 out of 10 cover art. I prefer the regular edition art cover, but that's me.
No because Target managers are douche bags and they call their customers "guests" instead of customers.
You are a first class idiot and douche bag, kid. First off, it is a company policy that you do not price match clearance from any where including between stores. Second, it is also company policy that you refer to customers as guests, not a store manager thing.
I am going to have to find that juicy batman AC goty now... Ugh... Maybe I will get lucky on Sunday.
I wish it did but we are polar opposites from each other lol. NY is a different beast.

So I ventured back to target to look for powerup heroes for my new kinect. Didnt find it. But I did find this:

Just bought the Microsoft Wireless Wheel (with two handles attached to a base) for 360 for $19.98. Also saw Ferrari Legends (?) for $14.98. Can anyone recommend the wheel and that game? I just used a gift card towards the wheel, but it's motion controlled, although the packaging claims that it will work with any 360 racing game.

If you're into racers, especially forza, and don't need pedals, the wheel is great at that price. There is a review on amazon for it giving some good advice on which games it works well for. The only minus is that it is missing 2 of the shoulder buttons of a regular controller.

The ferrari game has horrible reviews for being insanely hard after a certain point, but if you like ferrari it might be OK for that price. Don't know if it has any support for this wheel though.

Thanks, scottman. I may hold onto it for a while like I do with many of my Target purchases and think it over. I had a Logitech steering wheel a while back, but it took so long to move the furniture and set up the pedals, so this is a much better idea, although I'm hoping it works for Crazy Taxi on Dreamcast Collection and Burnout (the two driving games I play the most).

If you can't find it at Target, Toys R Us has it on clearance for $14.98.

Found Pokémon SoulSilver for $11.88 at Target on Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, Md.. Was marked $27.98 but scanned the lower price. Really happy. It was the last one there..

Huh, gaming/small electronic clearance section was completely gone when I was at my Target yesterday. It's disappeared for a bit in the past always to return so I guess we'll see what happens. They haven't had anything even remotely good for a long time now anyway.

Has anyone been to target today? I'm hoping to find Smart As on clearance, both stores near me still list it at MSRP.

Grabbed the Xbox Wireless Wheel for $12. The kids and I are having fun again with Forza Horizon, but I don't see using it to complete a racing game.
Wait, what? Are you saying you bought 6 copies fo this game, lol?
Heyyy... Not as bad as the noob that bought 8 copies of Pikmin 2 in that Best Buy sale thread!:booty:

Plus, these were $2.98 each before discount!
Went to a couple local stores hoping to find maybe Fifa 2012 or Soul Silver...but nothing but a bunch of sports games or shovel ware. Did pick up Smart as (Vita) for 8.98 and Lumines Electronic Symphony (Vita) for 20.98. Anyone own these games? Are they worth the price?
I checked my Target this morning hoping Lumines Electronic Symphony had dropped below $20.98 (it scanned at this price last week). I scanned it and it was no longer in the system. I haven't been actively checking the Target clearance thread for a while, but $20.98 seemed kind of high for it to be dropping out of the system. Is Target eliminating clearance games quicker than they used to?

Edit: Nevermind. I scanned it again last night and the price came up again. The system must have been down or something when I scanned it the first time.
