you're referring to:

The converter does let you use the controllers on a PS3, but it is not read properly and buttons have crazy mappings...and the L and R buttons do not function...so not a good idea if you're looking to use this on a PS3.

Remember, the reviewer is not necessarily using the Tatsunoko stick over the USB converter. He/she might be using the Wii's Classic Controller...

On the PC it turns out that if you press home+L or home+R button you can change the "mode" of the directions, L, and R.

For instance, while by default, the Mayflash is set to "Mode 1":
L and R is set to "s0 positive" and "s1 positive" (I assume these are analog) and the d-pad is set to "POV hat " (or something like that).

If you press home+R, then it changes to "Mode 2":
L is set to "Button 4" and R is "Button 5", just like all the other buttons (ABXY). The d-pad is set to buttons as well, i.e. "Button 10" for up, "Button 11" for down, etc.

If you press it again, it goes to "Mode 3":
L and R are the same as in Mode 2, but the d-pad... is kind of weird. It only registers Up and Right for me, and I think it's done via analog signals.

Press it again, and it cycles back to Mode 1. Long story short, if you press home+R or home+L (which just cycles in the other direction of home+R), you can set it so that every input is digital (by getting it to Mode 2).

Ya, read that whole thread. I should've been more specific...This adapter won't allow 8 Wii buttons to function at the same time as the D-pad. You have to sacrifice one or the other with only 2 options on the PS3:

1) Act as D-pad with 6-buttons or

2) Act as left analog stick with 8-buttons

Ideally, it would've been great to have the d-pad with use of 8-buttons. If I get this, it'd mainly be for Wii games since I already have a couple sticks for the PS3.

Slightly OT: Does anybody wanna go half on this in the Dallas area?!? Final cost per stick would be $27 after tax & shipping. PM me, thx!

He's probably talking about DKCR, which is understandable since it wasn't clear which version you were talking about.

But good to know it works with the game you want to play :D

I bought it to play VC games, but in retrospect, it seems a bit crazy especially since I don't really have use for a second stick :(
 
My friend and I went half on this. I grabbed TvC from BB last week for 19 bucks, this is just icing on the cake. I ordered a Gamecube/Wii converter for my MAS stick, but for 25 bones this is terribly difficult to pass up.

Ordered mine on a late Wed night/Thurs morning at 1am (so technically 1/6).

Fri morning (1/7) they were on my doorstep. And I didn't pay for any sort of extra charge for super duper express shipping or anything. Just did it as cheaply as possible.

I ordered mine on 1/15 3:45 PM, and received my shipping confirmation yesterday 1/20 4:17 PM, with the fedex estimated delivery 1/24.

Don't really mind but stonedgamer's post got my hopes up for a fast delivery, especially since I live in CA. I'm spoiled by Amazon Prime. No tax and fast shipping!
 
I know this works as a CC/CCP but for what games specifically besides TvC? In otherwords, what games uses a CC/CCP's D-pad instead of it's 2-analog sticks (yes, I know this stick has a 3-way D-Pad/L-Analog/R-Analog switch)? Thx! I've got a few hrs to decide, hehe!

Awesome! They did arrive today.

Don't know about others, but mine came in the same type of box that a retailer would receive. It had the lettering describing the contents as TvC sticks, quantity 2.

These sticks also feel more solid than the SFIV SE sticks

I think I may have a serious addiction. I went from 0 sticks to 8 in a month...not including that piece of crap wireless Tekken stick I sent back.

- Grabbed a pair of these TvC wii sticks during the 2 for 1.

- The wife bought me two of the ps3 BlazBlue TE sticks for my birthday when they were under $100.

- Grabbed a couple Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 SA's for PS3 off a dude locally. He had 4 just sitting in boxes, unsold. I bought 1 for $80, made plans to buy at least 1 more if not all, and when I got back to him he sold two at CES here for $150 each...but still saved me one more and gave it to me for $80.

- On Sunday night I obtained an unopened round 1 TE for ps3...$80 from a local buyer who got in on the 2 for 1.

- Just walked in the door with a $60 ps3 round 2 from a young 'un (well, 21) who isn't enyoying the pad to stick transition and also got in on the 2 for 1. Claims to have used it "literally twice".

LOL, with that many sticks, you could've gotten the end all, be all of sticks...the Hori Premium VLX AND still kept a couple of those sticks, haha!

Well...I got the 2 HRAP3 SA's (which I can play on my backwards compatible ps3) and two SF TE's (both of which I'm coverting to 6 button layouts - one for me, one for the wife...who's playing some SSFIV as I type) for the same price as one VLX.

And I'm leaving the BlazBlue sticks unmolested for now...I really like that art, and they're numbered and all that jazz. And she really likes the HRAPs and doesn't want me to fuck with those...

You like how I justified my habit? Or at least attempted to!

You should check out the CAG Arcade Stick Thread II: World Warrior for help with your addiction. As in, buying more sticks and possibly building your own :razz:

My TvC sticks just arrived yesterday to sit alongside my HRAP2SA, SF2TE (modded for both 360 & PS3). I'm also working on building my own stick--got a custom MC Cthulhu board that Toodles himself was kind enough to solder a cannibalized Pelican stick multicable for PS1/2, GC/Wii, Xbox, PC, and PS3 compatibility--and just finished building the wood case. Should be sweet when I'm finished, then I'll have 5 sticks total. :D

Thanks, that thread looks like it'll be good reading. Dying to do a dual mod myself since i went to a locals casuals and noticed a lot of our local players are xbox...but I'm a ps3 guy. Good enough for EVO it should be good enough for me, right?


Markman, that OLD pic of your collection is sweet, can't imagine what it looks like now.

And now I don't feel so bad!
 
PS3 BlazBlue, 2x Wii TvC, and 360 Chun-Li stick in the last couple weeks. Chun-Li stick looks amazing. Hope I'm done for awhile :p
