Test Drive Unlimited 2 - $35 (360, PS3) and $28 (PC) Amazon DOTD

I have played this game, and I have a very good feeling it will be below $20 with two more months time. If you have to have it NOW then $35 is a pretty good deal, but if you wanted it that bad you probably would have bought it launch day :)

Wait 'till it's below $20. You will thank me once you play it.

Yeah, I would agree with waiting for a lower price.

The game is fun, I love the ambiance but the actual driving is a bit on the floaty side and the cars have terrible damage modeling ... I think Criterion spoiled me.

The game is awesome except that it is completely broken and basically unplayable (unless you don't mind losing all progress randomly due to corrupt save games) - the community have been waiting on a patch for 28 days now.

I read about those problems too, which is probably why the game is on sale so fast and will (I hope) continue to plummet. I want this game, but wont buy it until it is fixed and at or lower thamn $20 due to these issues. But I want it because the reviews say it is rather fun and that there is a ton of content.

Yeah I've heard this from several sources, I'm staying away from it till its fixed. By then it'll probably be $20.

I heard this game is like a douche bag simulator. Buy clothes, meat head guys, bimbo girls, buy mulitiple houses, expensive car, and etc.

Charlie Sheen would love this game.

Yes, correct. Even if you play strictly offline your save could still be corrupted. I bought this game on launch and have not played it for over two weeks since hearing about these issues. Basically I paid $40 ($10 gaming credit) for a title that has played more like a beta then anything else. I loved the first TDU but there are way too many issues with TDU2. Even with a patch It's still missing bikes (which are going to be DLC later, but probably not free like they were in TDU1) and many other cars. They also need to fix the handling of the cars even if they end up fixing all the server problems.

Hard to recommend above $20 in It's current state, and my launch purchase and support of EDEN has made me learn the valuable lesson of not buying the third one (if there is after this mess) till It's $20 or less.

The game is definately not Forza. Yet, I still find myself enjoying it. I knew it wasn't going to be perfect, but it annoys me that there is still no patch. I purchased the casino DLC with some extra points and I can't do anything except play slots and drive the Audi R8 Spyder.

If all features were working, I would recommend buying this at the price listed here. It's a huge game with a lot to do, but since the primary focus is on playing with others online, it's imcomplete. I still race people from time to time, but the community itself is weak. Only 1 out of every 20 or so people I try to race will race, and typically they will only agree to it if they have the superior car. Also, nobody uses mics, except annoying kids via kinect without knowing you can hear them, OR, Brits who just try to smacktalk using words and phrases not known in the US, lol. I don't know if the big Brit movement is on account of a large number of Astons and Jags?

The cars are a little lame too. There are a lot of great cars, but most are the supercars of today, including multiple Bugatti Veyrons, Zondas, and Koeniseggs (sp?). Don't get me wrong, I love these cars, but they are not worthy of multiple editions while leaving out other supercars (Saleen S7, McLaren F1, Maserati MC12, Jaguar XJ220, Porsche 959, etc). The classic cars are a little weak too. I guess the selection just doesn't seem well planned. Also, Porsche is not represented, but RUF is. Similar to PGR, rights to RUF are probably cheaper, even though it's just a modified Porsche, they have the permission of Porsche to rename the car under their own brand.

Current status, wait til $20.

Also, I have completed 100% of the maps and have had no issues with save file corruption. I will continue to play and if I do, this game will not be touched again. No interest in driving 100% again. lol.

If you own the first game, there is NO reason to own this one. It's a total rehash and broken at that. What did you expect from the developer of Alone in the Dark?

I genuinely enjoyed cruising around with a group of friends in the first game but with the terrible servers, clubs being disabled since launch, the completely unchallenging A.I., and the aforementioned douchebaggery of the non-driving aspects of the game, I'm really disappointed in TDU2 and that's even after having somewhat tempered expectations after playing the first game.

I would recommend people avoid it until they fix all the problems with the game and even then wait for a $20-25 price. Last I heard the PC version was pretty much fixed but the 360 version is still jacked up, everything from trying to play and stay together with friends to doing pretty much anything in the casino. Not sure of the status of the PS3 version.

Took all of the words right out of my mouth. Bugs from the beta (very vocally reported and by no means small) made it into the final product, which is a cardinal sin of programming and unforgivable, given assurances that it would be fixed. I've soured on Atari, Eden, and TDU in general because of the complete mess they launched. If this gen didn't have patching, the game would be a $50 coaster. It ate my save once, and I'm too scared to play it again until the patch fixing it finally drops.

Sigh... I just a notification that someone might sending me this game through Goozex. I hope I can continue my lucky streak of not getting bugs from buggy games like a lot of Western RPG, Merceneries 2, Mindjack or Wolverine. Even super buggy games like Fallout: New Vegas I only encounter one big bug.

I wouldn't buy at this price, especially since the game is still buggy as hell. I preordered and bought it day one, but had to bail after a week or so just because the online was virtually unplayable.

I'll never buy an atari game ever again because of this game. I loved the first TDU so much that it actually hurt to see this game was utter garbage.

Def. not worth 35 for this major disappointment. Wait till it's 20 dollars. I'm sure it'll drop down quick. I got rid of mine after a couple of weeks after waiting for a damn patch and I heard the patch is still not up. Horrible. Don't know how this become such garbage compared to the first one. The first one was awesome and this one, with all the years they worked on it with a small roster of cars, okay driving, and bugs and glitches all over the place, this is my major disappoint of 2011 when it comes to games. I'm still pissed that I spent 50 on it when it first came out thinking it was going to be the same or at least better than part 1.

EDIT:

Also, they're going to give us free shitty DLC too. Not even giving us a pack of free cars but that stupid wreckage car parts. It's basically two free cars but you need to find the pieces! Kind of gay shit is that man. I don't even get two free cars but I have to go find the pieces for it in order to get two cars? The hell out of here! I still have the game data and etc. saved onto my thing just in case I pick this up in the future just to complete some achievements but ugh, the developers and whoever the rest of the people behind this game took a big pile of goat cheese shit on all the fans of the first game.

If any of you guys bought the game wait to play it until they patch it. I've heard of people putting 50+ hours into the game just to have their gamesave corrupted.

...and that's only 1 of the 1000 problems with this game.

Maybe I'm crazy but I bought this near launch for PC and have had relatively few issues. The only real problem I've noticed is that zooming on the map doesn't seem to work.

Aside from that, this is a really fun game. If you liked the first I don't see why you wouldn't like this one.

That sounds like a bi-winning simulator.

I will wait for the game to drop lower.
