I noticed that this thread has been dead for a while so I contacted the author and she agreed to let me take over...so we are starting a minty fresh, brand-spanking-new Toys R Us clearance game thread....

I have put the last 2 entries under spoilers so we wouldn't lose that data but most of it is pretty old...I will probably delete the stuff that goes back to early 2010 as it is really irrelevant....so we are gonna start small here....I have a few updates to post from my ventures out today..

I would like to keep this thread in the spirit of the Target Clearance Game thread so I will be setting it up like that...

Any questions, comments, suggestions just drop me a PM...

Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numerous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

For the most part, prices are universal! Though there will always be exceptions...

Wow on the platinum pack. Calling ToysRus/Best Buy currently to see if they have it since I don't recall them having it. If they do, I will most certainly pick it up. Sold my old copy of SR3, and this is a perfect price to pick it up (let alone for the extra goodies,lol).

This was the same price at TrU eBay store, just a little earlier. When I last checked, it said more than 10 available. Then, I look and it said all '26' they listed were sold, but only 2 sold after I saw the 'more than 10 available' notice....then, they were sold out.

Back to $99 on their eBay.

Was $9.98 + $2.99 shipping + tax.

...May be something to watch for, for those who aren't near 1.

Arg.... Has the this 'listing has ended' notice. Still, maybe watch their eBay for whomever that's easier for!
 
Toys R Us does not have it, but Best Buy does. I guess the gaming gods will decide if they will actually PM. Most likely they will probably call toysrus and then they will say they have none, which will equal no PM for me. Who knows though, worth the ride since I have some stuff I need to take care of.
 
Went to local TRU store and only scanned two games. Guitar hero van halen and Rockband green day

Both for 9.98. I don't remember the previous price for Van halen but I do know green day was 20 bucks. So I assume all the games mentioned above probably dropped to a lower price. Like 20 bucks games dropped to 10 and so on.

So its safe to assume that the $10 price for ACB CE is for PS3 only but not the xbox version? dang, should have doubled checked the PS3 price too :/

No Saints Row at my Toys r Us, but lucked out with getting the last AC:brotherhood CE for ps3 at 9.98. Sweet deal!
Funny to see the 9.98 tag right next to the 99.99 tag for the 360 version
 
Aghh, BBY wouldn't PM since they called toysrus to ask about stock =(. Was looking forward to going on vent and talking like Zimo. I have a feeling that if BBY does another holiday clearance extravaganza that these will be one of the first to get deep slashes in price, so I'm not too worried.

I think you just screwed everybody near the LA area of a chance at getting this... You should not call especially on an item with such low quantity, employee probably snatched it up if they had any at the stores you called.

I disagree, the way I do it is I ask for Saints Row the third, without even mentioning the CE or the price. And they tell me no. Then I politely ask them if they could look up on their computer for neighboring stores for the game, and the answer is still no.

Accusing me of screwing everybody in the LA area seems like a little overstatement.

How could they tell you stock of the CE, by asking for stock on the standard edition? They can see the price on the computer when they look up the stock availability of an item. Just letting you know its best to not call, nothing personal.

I know, I can check on 1, maybe 2 stores after work. But driving in LA rush hour traffic at 4.55 a gallon is not as fun, just being a little selfish while trying my best not to ruin for everybody.
 
picked up last 3 of ac:b ce for ps3 at eatontown. if you're near freehold nj tho, I just saw 3 ac:b ce for ps3 still in stock. they're not marked for clearance in both stores but I asked for a price check and they ring up for 10 bucks (in eatontown at least. didn't asked in freehold). no luck on st. row tho.

oh and heavy rain is 10 dollars in freehold. they have 2 or 3 left.

2) Will the $9.98 price ring up at the regular scanners around the store or does it need to be scanned at the register?
3) Why can't the Xbox SR3 or AC:B also be $9.98? Ohhh whyyy TRU!!

Heavy Rain rang up as $10? Looks like 3 TRU trips and fast food for me tonight.

1) ac:b ce seems like it's only clearance for ps3. not sure about sr3.
2) the guy scanned ac:b ce using the scanner around the store. the game is behind glass tho so you can't scan it yourself (at least in the tru in eatontown).

when I did the price check for heavy rain at freehold, the guy used the register. it was marked at 30 dollars but rings up for 10 dollars.

3) yea dunno what to say about that :cry:
 
For those interested, AC:B CE TIV for the PS3 on Amazon is $30.00. I managed to snag the last one at my TRU but since I already own the GS exclusive, I'll probably trade it in.

When I called earlier, they told me the item is marked as discontinued. Can somebody enlighten me with this, if that is the case would calling make it defunct since they can't check the stock anyway with out physically seeing it?

I had the same response down here in Tallahassee. They also told me they haven't stocked it in quite a while. I believe them since I don't recall ever seeing it.

:)I went nuts when Kmart and Sears clearanced that PS2 memory card adapter for PS3 about 3 years ago. They were only $1.50 there(90% off). I price checked them when I stopped in for that B2G1 about 4 months ago or so and they were still MSRP then. Not that I imagine there's a big market for them now with the rate of YLOD's on fat PS2's that actually have BC to them.

I loved that game ! So much that I need to re buy it for my collection. Hope I can find one in my tru stores tommorow while I'm searching for assassins creed brotherhood ce's and saints row platnums

Do we have any TRU employees still on the 'CAG payroll', so to speak? What we really need is a comprehensive list of these drops, because I imagine a lot of stores are like the ones I frequent, and are bad about updating price tags, but yet the games are locked up, and impossible to self-scan.

It's funny that one of the stores that's usually horrible about pricing is where I first reported finding the two AC:B CE's and the War Collection a few days ago. I would have never known about them if the cheap prices didn't catch my eye, and I definitely would not have wanted to trek the 30-40 minutes each way to go straight back to that TRU the next day when others began finding it!
 
lol im a TRU employee and i check prices on the games each day i work i can try to get a full list, but what i also know is more clearance drops will happen after easter
