I noticed that this thread has been dead for a while so I contacted the author and she agreed to let me take over...so we are starting a minty fresh, brand-spanking-new Toys R Us clearance game thread....

I have put the last 2 entries under spoilers so we wouldn't lose that data but most of it is pretty old...I will probably delete the stuff that goes back to early 2010 as it is really irrelevant....so we are gonna start small here....I have a few updates to post from my ventures out today..

I would like to keep this thread in the spirit of the Target Clearance Game thread so I will be setting it up like that...

Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numerous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

For the most part, prices are universal! Though there will always be exceptions...

Which stores did you hit up? My main store is Plantation. The guy working there usually has a heads up on drops. I agree with you, most stores down here are unorganized and usually ran by a 65 year old non English speaking woman.

FYi- To save people time and gas...

Both Rockville and Gaithersburg, MD stores has no WoW Collection, Gears 3 LE, Batman AC CE, Saints Row 3 with headphones, and Assassin creed BH CE.

NOTE: Gaithersburg, MD has two AC BH CE for the xbox 360 for $99.
Also, I found Star Ocean last hope for xbox 360 for $9.98.

Isnt the .99 shirts made for kids???? what shirts are .99?

It was $49.xx two days ago at the local store. Of course, I didn't see them when I went to check this morning, so maybe it went down further.
 
Im supicious of that halo reach limited edition as well. Its not listed on the toys r us site. I wonder if its clearanced. Not only will i check for that lbp controler bundle but Ill also scan the halo reach ce

HR limited is still high 79.98 or something.

HR CE is 49.98 or something

LBP bundle is 49.98 or something. I just checked all of them.

Point is they are all still too high to buy.
 
Some guy in at Toys R Us is clearing this place out. He's buying like 20 each of Wii's, XBoxes, cleaned out their skylanders (two baskets FULL) a dozen 3DS's, a bunch of Wii games and who knows what else, never seen anything like it.
 
Went back to the North Little Rock, AR store after deciding to get the copy of Heavy Rain they had behind the glass. I took a little time to search the video game section while I was there, and I'm glad I did because I found the small corner where they moved most of the clearance console games to. That's where the copy of Valkyria Chronicles I was looking for on Thursday went. I picked it up along with Heavy Rain.

I came close to picking up Trauma Team, but I knew I'd never get around to it. Maybe if the price drops again I'll go back for it, but if not, it's there for anyone else to grab.
 
Plants VS Zombies PS3 listed for $9.98 in the OP but I scanned it and rings up at $19.99. Also, Guitar Hero Van Halen for PS3 rings up at $9.98 in the OP listed as $19.98
 
Just picked up gears3 at pearl city location for you cags on oahu

...they have about 2 left after my purchase, best hurry! 10dollar steal

ya it is but 24.98 new there and i dont like used games i just got it to add to m collection. i only buy new i dont trust gamestop and hate them personally
 
The assassins creed brotherhood CE is a true steal. Gurnee IL near stupid six flags i had to drive 13 miles for it but i got the last PS3 version $10.73 +Tax it goes for $50 on amazon.com its out there... but gears i called one store and gave up happy hunting youll find it the original goes for $25-$30 i feel i robbed Toys R us
 
woo hoo! Picked up 3 more NCAA 10 PS3 9.98, hotshots golf ps3, a AC:B CE ps3, 2 dragon's peak, a darklight, pirate seas, and prisim break packs and CHEWY SPREES! all this week. I'm lovin TRU...too bad theres no trade in though, would've helped some.
I might have to go back again to get the $29 zelda game.

Man, is there ANY way I could get a copy of NCAA Basketball 10 from you for a reasonable price? I'm dyin to play it again, I traded my copy to my best friend for a meal at McDonald's last year and then he traded it to Gamestop for like 2 dollars :cry:

I don't know how everyone is having so much luck at TRU, the only interesting thing I found at the Wesley Chapel, FL TRU was a 10 dollar copy of Star Ocean for 360. :cry:

You can find a used copy of ps3 ncaa basketball 10 at gamestop for 26 bucks. I can't get more reasonable than that. These new sealed copies are like gold.

I found all my clearance stuff in a white wire basket type bin by the registers.

Basically the whole store got the same treatment, they didn't just single out electronics. Electronics was less than 10% of the total mark downs we had for the week. I think they do this once or twice a year, just trying to get rid of old inventory.

The reason for so many people striking out is that I would say at least 75% of the stores out there don't even carry the Collector/Special editions that 99% of the people in here are looking for.

Another thing to keep in mind also, is before the price drop, a lot of these games were at the $19.99 price point. If other stores out there are like mine, we get a lot of games at this price point stolen since these games were put on the floor live.

Same at my store. Whenever someone comes in looking for a $19.99 or less game, I tell them before I even look that we probably don't have it, even if the computer shows that we do.
 
If theft is a problem, I'm surprised more TRU's don't use those plastic security cases. I went to a TRU on Saturday in a not great area and all the clearance bin and $19.99 and under games were in those type of individual game cases.
 
Picked up dead space 2 ($14.98), ratchet and clank (14.98) and driver (19.98) with the b2g1 sale today. Bunch of new clearance here today, everything is in the prison though. Must be a new thing they're doing since clearance games have always been put out on the endcap.

Anyone know if there's any ds styli packs on clearance? I'm looking for the jumbo pen-style stylus for the dsi XL. I think I saw a Pokemon accessory pack that had a big one in it...? Thought someone may have spotted one in passing.

EDIT: Found one: two dsi XL Jumbo Styli Bronze color - $2.48.

They also have some MASSIVE 3DS storage backpacks on clearance, didn't get the price.
