I noticed that this thread has been dead for a while so I contacted the author and she agreed to let me take over...so we are starting a minty fresh, brand-spanking-new Toys R Us clearance game thread....

I have put the last 2 entries under spoilers so we wouldn't lose that data but most of it is pretty old...I will probably delete the stuff that goes back to early 2010 as it is really irrelevant....so we are gonna start small here....I have a few updates to post from my ventures out today..

I would like to keep this thread in the spirit of the Target Clearance Game thread so I will be setting it up like that...

Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numerous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

For the most part, prices are universal! Though there will always be exceptions...

It depends on whether or not your local TRU has updated the shelf tags or price stickers on the games. If the items are still marked full price, there is a better chance you will find the games. With the Guitar Hero Band Kit I got, there was no price tag on the shelf and I'm sure if it was tagged $9.98, there is no chance I would have gotten it.

I'm trying. Every time I remember about it, I get called to do something and I forget about it. I would have to believe anything worth while is already mentioned in this thread. My store is one of those that never carries collector editions so I wouldn't be able to tell on those.

I would love NCAA 10 if i could find it, i really like collecting games.. especially ones like that. Where did you guys find it at? In the glass shelf?

I don't know if you have any Blockbuster stores left in your area, but they had this for $14.99 used for the last two sales they've had if I remember correctly.
 
My TRU never has anything. Well, scratch that, they have a TON of clearance junk (peripherals) for the Wii, DS, and PSP. Tons of shovelware galore. The only thing I left with was an ad so I could price match Battlefield 3 at Best Buy and use my $20 gift card.
 
I checked my other local TRU today and I couldn't find a single one of those $1 shirts(as I expected by now). Unless they had them in another section someplace that I didn't notice they only had ones that were $10 n up.:whistle2:#

Which one? I got 1 of each of the KH, Pac-man and Zelda shirts at the DC store. There were plenty left. Btw Steve was there too...lol. He bought A.c. Revelations for $34.99. Lol

That's the thing. I didn't really pay close attention to which shirts besides the Assassin's Creed ones were clearanced to $1. I know there was some sort of Pac-Man ones in the WB store earlier today mixed in with the other ones. It was basically Pac-Man with writing making up his 'body'.

I guess I'll have to follow my own advice n read back in the thread to see which ones are clearanced.
 
I saw that there too. From what I've seen online it doesn't look like it would be entertaining for more than 10-15 minutes. I personally wouldn't pay more than a dollar for it. Have you managed to find anything decent over there? When I went, all I could find were Trauma Team and Max & The Magic Marker. Good games, but I was hoping for more.
 
For the T-Shirts, the ones I have seen for $1 are Zelda Twilight Princess, Pacman, Spongebob, Batman Brave and The Bold and Donkey Kong (there are 2 Donkey Kong shirts, the black shirt is $4.98, the green shirt is $1)

No. But I hit up the Mechanicsburg(PA) TRU that they must've just built on the Carlisle Pike. They had ZERO of the LE/CE/SE games, but they did have 4-5 copies of :ps3:Hunted: Demon's Forge and some other random games.
 
trying to find a link showing that TRU has Little Big Planet 2 for 10$... any help would be appreicaited.. also... wish i got Rapala Pro Bass when it was $10!!

That's too far haha...I'm south of Dover so the only two I can really visit in under 2hrs are Salisbury, MD and Dover, DE.

I do remember you saying you're up that way (a lot or live? can't remember)...Mechanicsburg is about 15min from where I grew up near Harrisburg.

Actually I was down there almost every week for work for months. But I actually live 2 hours to the north of there.;)

Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. I didn't have a chance Sunday to go out there and finally made it by there yesterday.I didn't really think they would be there any longer but BOTH were still there. I bought one. I didn't want to be greedy. But....told a friend and he wanted one so I went back out there today for a dentist app. and picked up the last one.

The LE is pretty cool the cog is solid and heavy and the case is one of the best I have seen for holding everything it comes with.

No luck on ANY of the other great deals though.
 
Is there a certain date TRU uses to clearance new games or is it just random? My store still has a copy of AC: BH CE for 360 just sitting there all pretty lol.

Any updates on a new list or additions prim?

I hit the Little Rock, AR TRU tonight since I was in the area. I grabbed the last Valkyria Chronicles they had, plus the last :ps3: Dragon Age Origins: Awakening and :ps3: Devil May Cry 4. Haven't seen DMC mentioned yet. It was $9.98. The reaction on the guy's face was priceless when it rang up that cheap. :rofl: I think he thought I was bluffing when I said it might be cheaper than what the shelf tag said.
 
Well I did some scans today and my findings are:

:360: Ass creed: brotherhood still is 69.99
:360: halo reach around limited edition is still 49.99
:360: street fighter 4 collectors edition: this thing was banged up badly lol. It rang for 64.99 :(
 
lolol I love how everyone is using my term "Ass Creed" now... I think I called it that way back when the first one was on clearance somewhere.... hehe trend setter

Forgot to mention this last night: I saw signage yesterday for a two-day deal (ends today) where you get a free $10 gift card for buying $49.99 in games. If you haven't already hit your TRU for clearance games, today's the day to do it.

It seems pretty random, not to mention rare. There's been maybe 2-3 clearance drops a year since 2010. It'll probably be a while before the 360 AC:B CE hits $9.98.

The lone copy of Trauma Team I've been eyeing survived up to this point, so I used a gift card to grab it. Some other stuff I saw for 9.98: Super Street Fighter 4, Rise of Nightmares

The Red Steel 2 bundle w/ WM+ attachment was $15, but I already bought one for Zelda.

Ha! The Brotherhood CE at my TRU was still $99.99 :cry:
 
Hitting up Dover today, I've found decent stuff there in the past so hopefully something... Hoping to find a lone Gears left or SSFIV or Star Ocean...maybe a DS game or two too.
 
1st TRU got a Pandigital 5.6 frame for $9 it even has a remote! The poor box was alone in the cashier island of electronics next to the cameras in a corner. The cashier got a little pissed when he checked the price for me, but didn't give me any BS since I was facing the computer screen :)

2nd TRU got 2 WII GOLDENEYE W/ gold classic pro controller for $16+tax ($10 each; used 40%off promo); traded the Games to GS since I already own it. Got $13.50 in credit due to last day of 50% extra in GS and setup my preorder of ACIII so the credit won't go to waste. So $3.62 W TAX included out of pocket for 2 golden wii classics cont pro. Gas $ recuperated due to sale of coke zero @ CVS since both Stores are in same street and 6miles from home.

Got also PS3: Splatterhouse ($10) and Vanquish ($10) for $16 (due to 40% off promo). I had already bought Vanquish so they used my receipt from a few days back and adjusted it for the promo.

Other random stuff I got a few days back: a spongebob face yellow t-shirt & a batman brave & bold both LARGE for a $1 each. Also a ghost and pacman sweatband and buckle bundles for $1 each. And last an iDog or something that is a little dog w speaker that has lights and dances: small one for me $2 (from "$40") and the one that moves the front legs for $4 for my sis which is the med size one. Large ones were also there for like $10 I think. I also saw a kinect tv stand for $4 I believe is the original one due to box and has legs? (don't own a 360). Crappy wii accessories for cheap: lights sabers wiimote wrappers for $2 and more. I also saw the singing game that has 2 mics for the ps3 (the dance pack) for $20.
