Sent the actual UPC off the box. Its frustrating. I even have a photocopy of it too and offered to send it, but they'll have none of that. When I have time this week, I'm going to the FYE store to see if the manager can do anything for me.

I think it's a clearance that lasts until they are gone, but some of the stuff at my store will never sell no matter the price. Ok so i went to my local FYE store in Durham NC.He said no rebate for SWFU. its $30.I did not buy it to test and see if a rebate form will print out.I heard from another FYE employee that some game rebates end sooner than the advertised rebate period.This rebate sale for most games ends next week August 12th.

Bah, i should have at least tried to buy it to test if a gdamn rebate form prints out.

I called another store and they are out of it but he said the rebate for SWFU iirc he said made the price go down to $20.

Its on sale at Target for that much, i told the dude. I really dont know why i stress about this store anyway. F A I L.

nah thanks for clarifying there were other threads though! was hoping to find a family guy xbox game but couldn't... was just trying to pass along the info as a side bar just in case

i haven't had high interest in old gen games since the last gen i have b4 my 360 is a super nintendo haha so i probably over looked any threads on them ...

Hmm i might just go and buy it then even though that guy at the register said the rebate has ended.Damn it, he just wasted my gas money.

I actually saw the opposite - I had a hard time getting the game back in my case because the central spindle was so stiff.

FYE did gut the game, but it was in perfect shape so I don't have any complaints. I actually had bigger issues with the last sealed game I got from them (Classic Rock track pack for Rock Band); the disc dislodged somehow during shipping, and was scratched to hell. I bought that one for the download code, though, and didn't bother to return it or try and get a new copy.

Thanks for the helpful comment. Obviously, the list of rebates and UPC codes is too overwhelming to be of any real use. The question is which items people have actually bought from FYE recently that have resulted in a rebate form being printed out with the receipt.
 
Anyone else realize how incredibly backwards this is? They're giving away all these rebates and not advertising them or displaying them in store. So in most cases they're offering rebates to people who already decided to buy the product at full price. This degree of disorganization reeks of bankruptcy. what a joke, what's the point? they're either bleeding money to people unaware of the rebates, and pissing off the small minority of people that are aware of the rebates by being inconsistent. You can't afford to run your chain this poorly in this economy. Especially not when you're selling luxury items.

I thought i saw a $30mir for Saints Row 2 collectors on PS3. That would bring it down to $10 after MIR. There seems to be some more interesting rebates on the 4th pic. Looks like a couple $70MIRs for PS2 systems :hot:

I ended up going back to pick up the one copy they had. Even though it was tagged at $39.99, it rung up at $26.99 ($29.99 with 10% off). I didn't notice at the time, as I had it in my head that it would just be $15 after the rebate was processed.

Well today, I had second thoughts and was thinking about going to return it. So upon looking at my receipt I noticed I only paid $26.99 for the game. I also noticed that no rebate form had printed out.

I called them up and talked to the same guy who I talked to the night I purchased it. I told him no rebate form had printed out and he went to look it up. After being on hold for a minute or two, he said the item was mis-tagged and it was supposed to be Gears of War 2 that had the $25 rebate (???). He said I couldn't get a rebate print out, but if I came in, he'd just mark it off the receipt and refund me the difference.

So I went in and ended up walking out with the game for only $1.99. ^ ^


All I'm wondering now is - why didn't the rebate receipt print out when I purchased the game? Shouldn't that have been done automatically?

After doing some online digging, http://rebateshq.com/promocenter/rebateshq/promo_detail.html?productId=4822304&bundleId=1491844 This is the rebate for Force Unleashed. The UPC code for Force Unleashed is 023272332761. It's on this rebate. Snagged the UPC code from Price Scan's site.

Edit: Tried looking up Halo 3 for Xbox and that's also on the same rebate. I'd say sift through Price Scan's site for the UPC codes (just type in the game and it'll show up under the name) and do a search in the online rebate to see if it appears. Purchases have to be made by the 11th.

One problem with trying to match the rebate codes to the UPC codes is that at least in the past, some FYE rebates have been "up to" a dollar amount- so, for example, if 2 UPC codes were listed under one rebate of "up to $30," one might be $30 but the other might only be $20.

When I do a search for Trans World Entertainment (the first one), it's the bottom rebate on the page that pops up (the 10th one)

I have no idea, that would be awesome if they did. I know some MIR have written on it that you can print out your invoice. But I didn't see that on this one. It says "store receipt" on the rebate. I'm guessing it only works with an actual paper receipt from your purchase.

you're probably right. It's too risky, and it triples the price from tax to tax + $5 shipping.

Yes, I saw this in store today marked $9.99 after rebate. Couldn't find Star Wars though....
 
I'm sure its Gears of War 1 since i asked the guy at the counter and he entered the SKU to check. I just forgot to ask for the price. They didn't have it so i guess i didn't care. lol :roll:


I updated the pics on page 4 with another host.
 
I managed to snag the last copy of Force Unleashed at Tyson's Mall in VA. It was labled 59.99 with a 29.99 "After Rebate" sticker. I knew better, and took it to the register. Rang up as 29.99 and a 30 rebate printed out. Score!
 
I picked up the last copy of TFU at the Parmatown Mall in NE Ohio. Nice! It's "new" like Gamestop has their "new" games, but a good deal is a good deal.
 
Stopped into my local FYE when I was waiting for a dinner reservation tonight and picked up a copy of Force Unleashed. I had never actually been into that FYE despite it being in a mall a few blocks from my office, and I was pleasantly surprised by the game selection. Definitely plan on a return trip.
 
Yea, tomorrow I'm going to go out to a couple of the FYE's around here and see what I can find left. Hopefully I can snag Force Unleashed.

It's too bad the rebates for Sacred 2 and X-Blades are so far apart in price($10 for Sacred 2, $30 for X-Blades), as I'd like to pick up both with my cheap FYE credit, but paying MSRP for both and then waiting forever on the sucky rebates from FYE's fulfillment company doesn't fly with me.

Mind you, I'd pick up a PStwo for $30, if the rebates didn't typically take 3 months or sometimes LONGER to be processed.

I'm not sure what the in store price is. The singstar bundle appears on FYE at $150 but i believe the MSRP is actually $120 now. Something else to consider...if you buy any system, you can also get 30% off any accessory.


One more deal i saw...

Buy any PS2 game, get one free of equal or lesser price after MIR. Applies to new games only.

When I got home I took a closer look and the games looked used. The rebate forms printed out but I'm considering returning them.

I wonder if they gave you the used ones instead of the new ones by accident? They probably store them the same way.

No, your FYE probably does it like Gamestop. The new games are gutted, and they put the contents in a plastic baggie behind the counter. So when you take the empty case to the counter, they put the contents back in. They're explanation...to prevent theft.
My FYE had multiple new empty cases out for some games...so I think if they're on display, they have the game ... no need to check to see if it is in stock.

I don't know about them looking used...you may have gotten a mixup, or they may have mishandled the disc when they gutted the case...if you have a doubt, its worth a return trip to see if they accidentally swapped in a used disc.
 
Both rebates I sent in are now scheduled for final processing already.

I didn't expect to hear anything for least a few weeks.
