How many copies of a game can I trade in?
​You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.
 
What do I need to trade in an older console?
The console, power cable, av cable, and controller. Sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3DS XL trade would be console, charger, and stylus. Some have reported being charged a refurb fee for missing the stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)

Does the Pro Membership B2G1 coupon apply to only games, or accessories as well?
The coupon applies to both games and accessories, per the wording on the coupon.
 
I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).
 
 
TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.
GCU/BB: Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Best Buy
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

If you get Fallen Order at GS you also get a free ticket to see Rise of Skywalker. Not a bad bonus on top of the 20 percent trade boost. Got my Wii Sports and Minecraft ready...come on stealth bump!

Hate to say this but last bump they did not increase Wii and 360 games. The month prior they did not increase Wii Sports.
 
It's been awhile since I've done this, but as a Pro Member, when figuring out the bonus on trades towards Call of Duty (or other 20% games), I should take the original trade in value (non-pro price) and multiply it by 1.3, correct? 

Example:
TIV $10*1.3=$13

That's correct. It's been mentioned previously in this thread a couple of times, and I also saw signage up at one of my stores when I was picking up WWE last night listing some current/upcoming G2L games. The not-yet released games included (at that time) were WWE 2k20, Luigi's Mansion 3, and Death Stranding. It did not go any further than that to list Pokemon or Jedi Fallen Order, but with the trend of most major recent releases, I wouldn't be surprised if any of them were included too.

COD is a guaranteed to love release as well. I think it would be helpful if GameStop had all of this info in one spot on their new fancy website.

PS Classic should count new or used. It worked last time and shows up on the website. However, the promo doesn't work online. I'm about to try it in store and stack up for the next bump. I need to rebuild my switch collection anyway.
 
So you can only find out which games are G2L by hoping to see signage in-store? Can anyone else confirm Modern Warfare being eligible?

 
Only semi related but my gamestop had megaconstrux Pokémon on clearance again. I got lapras for 20 bucks. Only 15 off but these big sets are really nice and fun to build. Might not be news but I just noticed so FYI!

No, you keep the reward. I did that for Ghost Recon. The G2L trade is considered a separate transaction

 
Can anyone confirm if CoD MW gets $60 credit if I trade it in the first couple days?

PS - I got so many flips this weekend and kept my mouth shut until now about it. Nice! Let's get that on a tray.

Yes COD does. Nice thought I was the only one. I assumed the thread will blow up with all the flips like last month man that was insane.

The reason that doesn’t get huge attention around here is because CAG’s get 33% off on GameStop.com normally, everyday with elite and cag16. And when a game goes on sale, we buy it with the 33% off then. So, 40% off everyday pricing isn’t as slick as the slick shoppers on here.

And while you “believe” you got 40% off, you didn’t. You got 36% off. For example, if you spent $100, and elite discount is 20%, then you pay $80. And if you get an additional 20% off $80, then you pay $64.

They do not sum the total percent off you get, they have their tricks. So, you got 36% off, when it’s 33% off online every day.

I did it this way and it worked for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint but not for Code Vein. I assume it works because I wasn't the only one who had an issue with Code Vein. Also, it appears that purchasing and returning a game will still get you the rewards cash, so it's worth a try for games that are not eligible for G2L.

 
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I asked my store associate and they said that COD:MW is a part of the "Guaranteed To Love it" promo. This is great for people (like me) who only care about the COD main story. 

 
Pre-ring is at noon and you’ll be able to pick up at 6 for CoD. Apparently it’s not something they’re really advertising.
 
Such a crappy experience at Gamestop today. I made a 30 min trip for a Ocarina Link Amiibo that was showing in stock. When I arrived to Gamestop they said a customers put the item on hold and I can't have it. Damn it!! Always confirm on the phone no matter what the app says so you don't end up like me.

 
The G2L code on the receipt for WWE 2k20 says "expires 10/24/19", which means that the 24th (tomorrow) is the last day to trade the game back in, correct? I am thinking of simultaneously trading WWE back in and getting Modern Warfare so that I only have to make one trip.

I just want to trade in some crappy old games and browse the game section for something I want. I don't need help doing that. Either I unknowingly ran into GSDave's district and his "good" service or this is a problem among prestige stores in general. It honestly felt like I was dealing with him when dealing with the employees.
