How many copies of a game can I trade in?
​You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.
 
What do I need to trade in an older console?
The console, power cable, av cable, and controller. Sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3DS XL trade would be console, charger, and stylus. Some have reported being charged a refurb fee for missing the stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)

Does the Pro Membership B2G1 coupon apply to only games, or accessories as well?
The coupon applies to both games and accessories, per the wording on the coupon.
 
I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).
 
 
TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.
GCU/BB: Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Best Buy
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

True, but PS5 controller will work as well (or at least it should). Just trying to reduce clutter since I don’t want two charging stands just for that purpose. I wish it was like Xbox where they’re fully BC because I do love my PS4 controllers. :cry:

It's actually $25 and not $17. You technically only get 20% extra since 10% of that is just standard for being pro.

I pre ordered it today and the rep told me it was G2L. Didn't see any signage noting that, but this associate usually has a good idea of what's going on

 
Incase it wasn't obvious, DOTD today includes "B1G1 Free Wii, PS3, and XB360 PO Software". 

/sadpanda no +$5 switch promo this week.. hopefully next!  :bomb:

Up to 30% extra trade credit (i.e. 30% for PRO and 20% for regular members).

(x*1.1+$5=x*1.3)
x=$25

So should be anything less than $25 you want to go with the +$5 promo and anything over you want to put towards a pre-order.
 
Does the 30% go into effect today or tomorrow like it usually does?   Not seeing any details on when it starts.   Got Forza Horizon 4 and Forza 7 that I could dump towards the PS4 version of Spider-Man: Miles Morales and nearly pay it off.

No it's not. The math doesn't work out. Only way it would is if you weren't taking into account the 10% bonus on top of the +$5.

(x+$5=x*1.3)

x=$16.67

So if what you're saying was true:

$17+5=$22.00

$17*1.3=$22.10

But in reality here's a perfect example, the games that we were able to get $16 for last month (I'll pick a couple random ones from my receipt):

God of War III Remastered <PS4> -16.00

Bonus: 5.00 Promo #25502

Bonus: $1.00 PowerUp Card 10%

Stardew Valley <PS4> -12.70

Bonus: 5.00 Promo #25502

Bonus: $0.70 PowerUp Card 10%

So the first line item for each respective game is the $5 bonus, and the second line item is the 10% extra TIC for being PRO .

I had to pick up my Joel funko (not really a fan but do love LoU so figure why not?) and was able to preorder the FE 30th... so at least I got that done. 

I also found out at the store that I had a "PUR Members - Spend $300 And Receive a $30 Gift Coupon". I don't think I spent $300 at GS unless store pickups count towards it. Oh well, nice to have and am glad the lady mentioned, would not know known about it otherwise. EDIT* says it was issued 9/13, LOL. How'd I miss this..?

I know I spent my monthly PUR $5 on Pro day and it's not in my active offers, but I got an email today saying "3, 2, 1...don't let time run out on your monthly $5 Reward Coupon" and the $5 code in the email was valid.
 
This is stupid, how the hell do you want us to buy when the website's a mess, store inventory doesn't work and game coins/reward coupons don't work or apply to anything either.

I have a 7 pound package coming in with no shipping notification from Gamestop. I found out by going to Fedex.com and noticing a package was shipped Friday morning.

Looks like the $10 coupons they sent out (for spending $75), is limited to one per account. I was able to checkout using one coupon, but when I tried to use my second coupon on another order it would not let me checkout at all until I removed the coupon and went through guest checkout.

I also have been having issues placing orders using the same trade card. I think GS places a hold on the entire card balance until the order ships, as I've tried to submit back to back orders and the second order throws out an error at checkout saying I need to choose another form of payment (despite having enough funds to cover both orders).

I think this most recent update to their website really screwed things up.

Thank you for those who posted about the free items on Thursday night!

On Friday most of my orders were cancelled, but some stayed on my history. A bit earlier today I just learned that I'm getting around 2k worth of items for around $180.

Well, based on the post below Im hoping it goes through. If it doesn't then oh well.

weird stuff with my free order. placed 3 orders when it was going down. two were cancelled the next day but one was still out there. friday night i got a text from fedex saying i had a package coming on the 25th but no clue who it's from. have a handful of stuff coming this week so didnt think anything of it.

tonight i get an email at around 9 pm that my last order shipped and it has a UPS tracking number. i get a text around a half hour later from fed ex saying my package is being returned to sender. i start investigating and realize the ups tracking number on gamestop's website is the same as the fedex tracking number that is being returned.

so i'm guessing my order shipped fedex on the 25th and gamestop caught it and reversed the shipment. doesn't really explain why it's showing as shipped ups on the website, but not expecting to get it at this point.

The issues are more magnified when they have sales. It's absolutely ridiculous that the store inventory is broken, especially when there are games that cannot be shipped (new or used). There's no way stores don't have stock of these games. No clue why the game coins don't work online (my FIFA coin didn't even work in-store on Xbox credit). But hey, they added a self-service return option (of course that doesn't even work on every order, at least for me), so there's that?

They should probably fire the person/people that design their site, it looks like trash. How hard is it to hire people that can make a site that works properly (Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc..are all capable of it).

 
Why is there some user named Omni6666 PMing me about i should return the free items i got from gamestop. My shipments were all canceled this dude just seems like a gamestop fanboy or employee. Shit wish i would have gotten some free stuff

Looks like that is what is happening to most of the free orders. Only hope is they ignore that notification or were so fast they already delivered! The $10 off everything seems like something small enough scale they probably will let go thru?

Have also noticed issues signing in on chrome (token usually, or display a bunch of code) I found that I'd need to open a new tab to successfully log in... might be a cookie / rebate thing?

I'm hoping that since all the stuff I ordered $10 and under was pre-owned titles and Funko shelf-warmers, they'll let it slide since they weren't selling anyway and really I'm helping out by making space in their warehouses and stores :p but yeah, if people ordered consoles and new hardware for free from the other night, there's more incentive to try and stop those orders.

 
This might have been answered already but for GameCoin, does it apply to items pre-ordered before the promo went live? Like I have Cyberpunk 2077 CE pre-ordered from much earlier this year- will I qualify? Also, is it $10 regardless of version or do CEs/more expensive versions get more?

You get same amount of game coin for a CE, but in my experience that’s even more likely to not receive game coin at all. Still, it should qualify. I confirmed in store that Online pre-orders qualify, I’m sure existing orders should count, there are no exclusions about that, but again, more likely you will receive nothing and have to call customer service who submits your request to a specialist and you never hear back

I got the $30 game coin reward fine so... maybe it's on an account by account basis? But in any case, thanks for the heads up, I'll have to keep an eye on it for when the game comes out.

 
Update from CS in regards to orders placed and say awaiting inventory. 

Thank you for waiting, upon further review, I was able to confirm that we do have stock available, however, our orders that are being shipped from a store, like yours, are being affected by an Inventory System technical issues.  We are working on getting your order to you as quickly as possible. Once our program issue has been resolved, your order will be fulfilled.

Boo. Im waiting on a call from them about an in store web order made with trade credit I cancelled online. Phone support and im store could not help me. Store said corporate would call back.
 
Just got back from preordering Watch Dogs Legion (PS4 regular edition) and paid it in full.  The rep that helped me wasn't sure that it was G2L, so she went and got who I believe is a store manager.  He was able to look up something on their system and saw that Watch Dogs and Pikmin 3 were the only G2L games right now.

I asked if there was some list somewhere that I could see.  He said no and that it can change pretty much up until the week the game releases.

Gonna be nice getting the $20 game coin for Watchdogs along with it being G2L, I'm happy!

The guy that did my preorder said the $20 game coin will not be delivered if the G2L is used. He said thats why they are sending out the codes 72 hours later to confirm who trades in within the 48hr time frame. He also said he received this information from his DL or whatever, but I guess we will have to wait and see what really happens come launch day/trade weekend.
I normally do returns and trades on my second account anyways, so I should be good to go.

Thinking they're full of crap. Of 11 items, 3 shipped from one store A, 1 shipped from store B, and 1 shipped from store C. So it's not like they're unable to ship from stores. I also don't doubt they could push the order through if they really wanted to.
