How many copies of a game can I trade in?
​You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.
 
What do I need to trade in an older console?
The console, power cable, av cable, and controller. Sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3DS XL trade would be console, charger, and stylus. Some have reported being charged a refurb fee for missing the stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)
 
FAQ will be entered when those questions get asked frequently.
 
Does the Pro Membership B2G1 coupon apply to only games, or accessories as well?
The coupon applies to both games and accessories, per the wording on the coupon.
 
I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).
 
 
TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.
GCU/BB: Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Best Buy
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Tried on a bunch of switch stock I had, nearly all games < $5 TIV don't qualify, but some like LEGO DC Super-Villains do.... but I think I paid more than that during a 50% off sale, so up to yall if its worth taking the loss now or holding off for a bump/next holidays O:)

Same here, all mine came in the little clear plastic holders except 1x Mario Bros 2 and 1x Xenoblade 3D... but no markers!

Yea, and I also have some stuff (Like a few copies of Galak Z) that I used as filler hoping for a $2+ to qualify for +$5 that make me a sad panda. :drool:

 
Good GS run: I called a GS 30 min away to see if any stores nearby had ps5 miles or demons souls pre-owned. She said they had both. I asked if she could hold them- she agreed but only for 30 min- wtf... ok.
I get there 35 min later and she had in fact set them aside for me. They had printed out a list of pre-owned games in stock for Switch games and I spotted Mario 3d all stars. I used a $15 certificate and that brought demons souls to $50 and miles was the free game. Nice!
Stopped at another GS on the way home and picked up :xb1: AC: Valhalla new for $40 and they had nba2k21 pre-owned. I forgot about the 30% off preowned deal which discounted nba to $45 for the series x. Lee Chaolan: Excellent!

Someone or other mentioned before that the DM's aren't supposed to contact you when you request that anymore. I have no idea if that's consistently true. The time that I requested it it didn't work for me, but that's just anecdotal, obviously. Let us know if they get back to you, please, just curiosity's sake.

 
Apologies if this has been rehashed too many times, but what’s the way to use the $5 cert on XBL credit? Just ask the cashier to run it as a code on the receipt? This is my last chance at using the $5. Pretty much missed out on most of the year and my Pro expires in a couple of days. It’s okay. 2020 gonna 2020.
 
Had one $10 from the spend60 / get10 hit my active offers today. Hoping to get a couple more tomorrow, which is the day the terms said they would be issued.

Stuff like Yakuza: Like a Dragon doesn't have a TIV and the only one I've found that does have one is Cyberpunk 2077. Also noticed that a bunch of games dropped in value this week and some don't even reach that $5 TIV minimum anymore.

Miles Morales PS5 is trading in for $27 after $10 bump since this is another title not showing up on the site. Had to purchase with a bundle and already platinumed, will probably buy back when it’s a Black Friday special down the road! Unloaded a bunch of other PS4 games too, Deadpool, PvZ2:GW, Darksiders, Modern Warfare, Snoopy’s grand adventure, extra controller all added up to $108. Store looked so bare now with them clearing stock ad others have described of last gen and the new floor model style.
 
I still never got the $10 game coin for preordering Immortals. I ended up going in and having them price correct for the $29.99 sale price.

They were pretty cool about it. Super easy transaction and left them a good survey.

I got one too. I did 4+ qualifying purchases during that promo so they owe me at least 3 more but I'm not holding my breath.

Online certs haven’t worked for me until I tried it with a game that didn’t already from some sort of sale price or discount and it kept it in the cart for checkout. Probably already common knowledge and probably didn’t bother reading the details but it kind of sucks not being able to get a better deal on something ( sale price plus cert money) although if I realized it sooner I could have hoarded points to get a bigger $ cert so it would make a difference off a full price game.

Must be scraping the bottom of their stock of 13 Sentinels because I got my copy today and it had the in store sticker on it.
Plus they shipped my order, 3 different items from 3 different locations ie stores (PA, OH and SC)

Also, when did Fairy Tail for switch become hard to find? Best Buy and GameStop are out, as is Amazon save for 3rd party. A month or so back I kept thinking it would dip down to 30-40 range and now people are paying over a hundred. I got one GS a couple hundred miles from me that has a used copy listed but I’m not sure I wanna make that kind of road trip.
 
Dumb question again...

Is there no way to get gift receipts for online orders?  I gave out a bunch of video games to nieces and nephews this year, and it would be easier if I had gift receipts...

 
Anyone know if the in store rewards certs work for xbox currency? I always use my monthly on them and have enough for a $10 coupon as well...

Edit: after reading this it might be confusing. I want to cash out points for a $10 coupon and buy xbox credit in store along with my next monthly $5 pur cert.

It does work in-store, but only that variant--buying 2 new games at $29.99 does not result in a 50% discount for a preowned game, only 30%. That discount only works for online purchases.

Got my 3DS games in. Smash bros does not play at all and the second smash bros looks like someone used it for TP and I’m not putting that in my DS. Guess I’ll be calling.

My smash didn't play until I cleaned the contacts. For both just use an alcohol wipe and see what you can do. Honestly quicker than trying to resolve anything on the phone with them.
 
I got my buy 5 get 50 percent off order today, there was 4 games in the package.. Thankfully it was an 49 cent basketball game I used as filler, but it’s pretty comical a major corporation didn’t send me something I paid for, and was on the receipt.

behind every major corporation are thousands of underpaid, overworked regular people that do just enough to not get fired because there is no incentive to do otherwise.

 
I know shipping is fucked everywhere, but I've been waiting for an Ellie POP for over three weeks. I had several other items in my order, I clueing two more POPs, that ha e all been delivered.

Why does GS have to be the worst at everything?

My copies of Lego Incredibles Ps4 and Lego DC Super Villains XB1 qualified for +5 but were only 3 base. Narcos PS4 did not qualify at 4 base. (Store manager was looking out for me)

Or if that’s not enough, how bout maybe if someone performs well at their job, they may get promoted or a raise or other positive things from doing what they’re fucking being paid to do.

Didn't you just answer your own question immediately after asking it? If there's "no incentive" to do better, how is that on the employee? You make it sound like getting a raise or advancing in position is something available for these guys. It's not.

My gamestop employees are so overworked they've had to shut the store down just to have a 30 minute lunch break. Other stores demand work and yet yell at employees for working overtime and don't allow anyone hours.

Corporate gamestop is the perfect example of mismanagement and absolutely fuck you for implying that its the employees fault. Apologists for scumbag CEOs is what's wrong with this country, not employees ground to death by work policies that were outdated by 1950.

this guy reminds me of all the people that say $2000 stimulus checks are a mistake but have no problem giving corporations billions in tax breaks and bailouts. who gives a fuck if airlines go out of business, if the demand is there, someone will provide the service. these same companies were making billions in profits just last year but now need a handout, but god forbid give money to working stiffs. we are already a socialist country, instead of sharing money with citizens, we share it with corporations and billionaires.
