GS FAQ

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

What do I need to trade in an older console?
The console, power cable, av cable, and controller. Sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3DS XL trade would be console, charger, and stylus. Some have reported being charged a refurb fee for missing the stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)

FAQ will be entered when those questions get asked frequently.

Does the Pro Membership B2G1 coupon apply to only games, or accessories as well?
The coupon applies to both games and accessories, per the wording on the coupon.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.
GCU/BB: Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Best Buy
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

I tried I store with some difficulty. If you try to price match a game over $19.99 in store with a web price under $20, that game will not qualify for the promo.
While unfortunate, that's at least consistent with how >$20 games PMed to <$20 in-store last week didn't qualify them for B3G2.

Earlier in the thread someone was talking about how their Gamestop orders had shipped, and how some of them were from stores and some of them were from warehouses. How can you tell where your orders are being shipped from?

I think orders that ship from the warehouse usually ship from Grapevine, TX or near GS HQ.

I been trying to look for an answer to this and I swore I did at some point in the last few days, but I can't find the answer. Question is if I wanted to return a game that I bought from the B3G2 from last week, would that be possible or would i have to return all 5 games in question? Sounds like a silly question but I would think returning one would negate what you get for free and that they wouldn't take too kindly to that. Like I said I tried looking for an answer, but I couldn't find it so apologies if this has been asked already.

YMMV depending on the employee. Depends on what your receipt or packing slip says too. You have a better chance if there is no free game listed on the packing slip of the game you want to return. Policy is that you have to return all of it or none of it.

warehouse packing slips are the adhesive labels

its pretty much always guaranteed to be in there unlike the store packing slip

also if you plug in the tracking into fedex like others said if it says grapevine its warehouse

from the tracking itself and not the shipping labels

I looked at my receipts and thankfully, the one game I want to return that came out free has the price listed on the slip so i should be good. Thank you.

I picked up these with the Buy 5 Get 50% off deal

Code: Realize Bouquet of Rainbows
Code: Realize Wintertide Miracles

Dark Souls: Remastered (PS4)
Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
Tearaway Unfolded
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Complete Edition (PS4)
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

And a new copy of Persona 5 Strikers for $19.99 using my $5 monthly cert. Maybe I should have used my $5 monthly cert on a used copy instead but oh well.

Edit: I just realized that I didn't turn on the Rakuten plugin before purchasing.

I think the current two warehouses that are shipping is Grapevine and Lexington, KY. I think there is 1 or 2 more, but I have never seen anything from them or they aren't 100% operational yet.

So it looks like all my orders are coming from Grapevine, TX. How screwed am I on getting generic/crappy cases on everything? Everything I ordered was PS4 stuff.

Even with no TIV bonus, you can still do decently flipping.

I'm going to wait until Friday and Saturday to see if Rakuen does a 10-15% rebate again and just hold games for a couple of weeks to see if any new promo pops up.

Grapevine is the wearhouse, so I actually think you have better odds of getting complete in my experience. When I get stuff from stores I get generic cases all the time. I think the stores always send out the generic cases since they don't have to sell that to someone face to face that way.

Gotta love the Gamestop associate turnover! One of my local GS had a manager than never really like me since I "abused" a few promos too many, so when a few of the stores went 1.5 or 2.0 or whatever, this was one of the stores that supposedly wasn't allowed to display or sell last gen titles. Fortunately for this 50% off promo I was able to coax a seasonal to finally access that fabled retro drawer and picked up a few things! One of the Fire Emblems was even sealed since they delisted the new (WATA TIEM!)

(If it wasn't obvious, 50% off  5+ works in store for < $20... no tax!)

I can confirm there's one in york PA (thought it was new york but I misread it apparently) as I got one of my games from each of the warehouses weirdly in my last order.

I was checking out to buy Ni no kuni Ii Switch for in store pickup when there was an error, so I went back to the item page and saw that someone beat me to it. No problem except there is a charge on Paypal. How do I proceed? Do I talk to Gamestop or Paypal to take off the charge?

Edit: The red message at checkout said something like "There was a problem. Contact buyer." So did I buy it or did someone else buy it?

if it ships within a day or two, its from the warehouse, if it sits for a week without moving, its from a store

im going through upcoming releases only thing i can guess is among us and rainbow six or gta trilogy

i called like 3 stores but they all have no idea about anything

would kill for this information as well rn

I've asked to see the drawer at a couple different stores. Nothing good so far.

Also, random FYI - all the Gamestops near me will have 50-60 (not a typo) PS5 Bundles for sale on Thursday. The boxes are starting to pile up in the back.  :ps2:

Not sure what happened, but YMMV. I used my December $5 PUR coupon online about 2 weeks ago. Today I go instore to make a purchase and the GSA said I had my $5 PUR I could use. My receipt shows it as Promo#27661

i got dragon quest rocket slime recently with the box

most of the time whole lot of nothing

its worth it to keep doing it as long as the employees arent pricks

GTA trilogy for switch is one of them. Switch version got pushed back but the promo is live for the original release date.

I didn't have details at the time and was busy at work, was just sharing there are 2 trade promos currently active. SL wouldn't spill the beans so I had to go in and try some things. Just be glad I'm not asking the same dumbass question that has been answered 57 times and feigning ignorance.

I have to head back to my home store tomorrow and swap out CoD: WW2. The one I got today looks like it was sent from a warehouse after being run through a blender (resurfacing machine). Hopeful that the other copy is in working condition.

Just throwing this out there. You might consider donating some of these decent cheap ps4/xbone games via the 50% off promo. My local library only had 2 ps4 games and one xbone. I donated 50 ps4 games last year and they were super greatful.

Just saw that Assassin Creed Odyssey Gold edition for Xbox is $25 but it's only the digital version. I bought the PS4 used disc for $9.99 but $15 more for all that DLC seems like it's worth it but I don't like the thought of buying a $25 game I can never sell or trade. Do a lot of you here buy digital games for $25 and up? I would think most of us in this thread prefer physical unless it's like a $5 purchase.

Donating? How will these kids sell their scalped games to doctors or get trade banned if they donate their supply? Screw people at libraries, that's a socialist program anyway. Not in my capitalist America!

(I support your message, just parodying the shitty way people around here act)

Is your library an independent branch? Mine has many locations, and their official policy is that they don't accept material donations from the public. They only take money.

Mate, have you heard of our lord and savior Microsoft Rewards? Just do the Bing searches and activities as well as the activities in the Rewards App for Xbox. And if you have Game Pass, do some of the quests there too! I can get about 20K points per month which translates to roughly $20 in space bucks. It'll lessen the pain a bit.

But if you don't have time to do all that, then pray there'll be a way to sell/trade digital goods in the future Personally, I balk at spending $20 or more on digital goods but if I know I'm getting a good value then I really don't mind.
