Yes, yet another indie bundle, but like the Humble Bundle, you can set your own price and donate to charity as well. The games only register on Steam, but that won't be a problem for most here. You get a key for each individual game, so you can gift whatever you do not personally want if you feel like it.

Happy Hour guidelines:

*Happy Hour happens at random times: sometimes as early as 4 days after the bundle going live, but most often during the second week of sales.

Happy Hour! Double Gifts! During Happy Hour time New buyers for every gift purchase get a 2nd bonus gift for free (2x1)! All gifts are doubled! Remember to check 'IS IT A GIFT'! *If you have not purchased the current Indie Gala yet, you can buy two for one during happy hour

And if you are an early buyer the deal is EVEN BIGGER!

Yes! If you already bought the current indiegala bundle, you get 2 bonus gifts for free for every gift purchased ( 3 x 1 ) *If you have already purchased the bundle, but you did not purchase it in the first week, you can buy three for one

And if you bought it in the first week you get 3 bonus gifts for free for every gift purchased ( 4 x 1 ) *If you already purchased the current bundle and did so in the first week of the current bundle going live, you can buy four for one

Remember to check 'IS IT A GIFT' ! if you want to take advantage of Happy Hour. You have to check this also if, after purchasing a bundle for yourself with your own email address, you want another additional bundle for you. If you don't, transactions amount will sum on your original email account and you can upgrade your purchase, obtaining more bonuses if you previously didn't unlock it, or more galapoints.

REMEMBER: (Gift purchases are not upgradable and don't contribute to upgrade your personal account for unlock new content.)
***For Happy Hour, you MUST use the same e-mail you used when buying your first bundle, and you MUST check the gift option below the payment method. You have to buy again during Happy Hour to receive gift copies.

CAG Group Buy Hosting FAQ

Q: I see all of these CAGs hosting group buys for people. What's that all about?
A: It's a way for CAGs to help each other get the best deal. One person will buy the bundle during the first week, then they will buy four gift copies at the highest tier during Happy Hour. This person is referred to as the host. They then try to sell these to participants for a fraction of the price of buying the "beat the average" bundle individually, plus some extra to distribute the cost of the initial bundle purchase in the first week. The host gains money back, and the participants get the full bundle for a fourth of the cost. Everyone wins.

Q: How do I host one?
A: To host a CAG group buy, you must first purchase the Indie Gala full BTA (beat the average) bundle in the first week (this has been changed since the previous bundles). This will allow you to purchase four additional bundles for the price of one during a Happy Hour, as stated in the Happy Hour post above. Now, it does matter how much you initially spend, as you must purchase the full bundle in order to purchase full bundle four-packs during Happy Hour. Then, once Happy Hour starts, you buy a gift copy for the current "beat the average" price, which will be listed on the Indie Gala page. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK "IS IT A GIFT" TO GET FOUR GIFT COPIES.

Q: It's asking me for multiple e-mail addresses. What do I do?
A: Just skip that part. The links to the gifts will be added to your account page (which is another reason why you must always use the same e-mail address when ordering from Indie Gala). Most hosts will send out the gift URLs to their participants in a PM.

Q: Is it hard to do?
A: No, it's very quick and easy. Just keep track of which gift URLs you have sent to which people, and you will be fine.

Glad to help. I'd highly recommend checking out a Let's Play on YouTube when you decide to start playing EU3... the built-in tutorial isn't very good, and some of the LPs really do help you to learn the basics of the game. It's quite complex, but if you stick with it, it's a challenging and fun experience.
When is the cutoff for a first week purchase?
Not sure TBH. That's why IG is so tricky. It used to be no Happy Hours the first week. So it was sort of easy to tell. Now with happy hours the first week they are not too clear what an "early buyer" is. I just buy day 1 to be safe. It's usually more expensive because the price goes down, but I'd rather pay more and make sure I qualify than risk it. Of course, if they don't do a HH then you are stuck with a full price bundle, but that only happened to me once (IG Sim) and I think I did end up paying like 6 bucks for that one when it eventually fell pretty low.

Ive been stalking this thread all week, and the one day I don't have time I miss happy hour!!?? Damn it!

Hopefully they have another HH before the end, or someone has extra copies.

I'm sure they'll have more happy hours, they have 9 days left.

I was kinda assuming they knew that, and their posts were more junkie fiending, they've just gotta add those games to their backlog CHEAP and NOW!

^_~

Maybe I was wrong.
It's indiegala. That countdown clock is probably a lie
Ok, I'll correct myself then.. we have at least 9 days left ;). There will most likely be more happy hours for this bundle though.
Are the Europa games and DoA worth a Happy Hour purchase? I was all ready to forget this bundle then they had to go and add Europa and now I am thinking of buying it.
Europa yes, if you're into that kind of games.

I bought it mainly for Nosferatu which was a pwyw $0.01 game but I can trade the rest and play Warlock.

Yea! Thanks Fox!

And yes, I'm a junkie for these games ;). I just started buying PC games during that Steam Summer sale and already have over 110 games in my library, which is probably nothing to some of you since I still haven't had an issue with getting a bundle with a game I already had. Sad part is, I only started playing like 10 games so far.

am I still in the first week though?
You could try emailing them and see what they say. Sometimes they are OK about it, other times not so much and they can take a while to respond.

No clue if you are in the first week or not. When did you purchase? You have to buy a non-gift bundle first to qualify for any bonus multiplier as an early buyer. You can try buying a gift bundle now and see how many you get to test it. That's the only way to do it.

I just bought my first (non-gift) bundle.. thinking I was still in the first week ><
so to test it now.. I need to buy a gift BTA bundle?

I'm just a little confused about how these group buys work.
the host has to pay BTA twice right?

for instance,
Host buys BTA bundle in the first week. - gets one bundle
Host buys BTA? bundle during HH - gets 4 more bundles.

so that would be 5 bundles for 2xBTA price (say $5 each, so $10)
how do we arrive at $1.25 for each bundle... I can only reason it out to you paying for first BTA bundle and split the cost evenly for the second BTA bundle

I started during the summer sale too and I'm up to 645 items in my Steam library :O
how do we arrive at $1.25 for each bundle... I can only reason it out to you paying for first BTA bundle and split the cost evenly for the second BTA bundle
It can get as low as $1.25 per bundle if the host pays enough to get 5 gifts.
scroll down to the part of the page where it says:
Click the "Is it a gift?" checkbox!
Donate 2 gifts paying more than:
Donate 3 gifts paying more than:
Donate 4 gifts paying more than:
Donate 5 gifts paying more than:

There should be prices listed next to each line letting you know what you need to pay.
That 5 gifts is quintupled during happy hour, which makes a total of 20 gifts. With the bundle initially bought, you have 21 copies of the bundle. Divide the total price that you paid (including the cost of the initial bundle) by 21. Then add a small tip to the cost of each bundle you sell to compensate you for your troubles. Depending on the cost of that particular bundle, you should be around $1.25-$1.75 per bundle.

This is the tricky/confusing part that I couldn't understand at first.

Basically, first you do need to buy a BTA bundle (NON GIFT) during the first week.

Then during happy hour you buy a "GIFT PACK" which is explained towards the bottom of the IG page:

Click the "Is it a gift?" checkbox!

Donate 2 gifts paying more than: $
Donate 3 gifts paying more than: $
Donate 4 gifts paying more than: $
Donate 5 gifts paying more than: $

Give a Gala to your friends! Enjoy our GIFT PACKS!

All gift packs ( Gift packs are listed on the left, when you buy in a single purchase more than 1 gift! ) are FULL BUNDLES! It means they contain all bonuses! Just remember to check the "Is it a gift?" checkbox!

So what this means is if you make sure you click "Is this a gift" and pay MORE than the price in the 5 gift section you will actually be purchasing five gifts at one time at a discounted rate. Those five gifts get multiplied by 4 leading to you actually receiving 20 gifts total.

You take the cost of the original BTA bundle and the gift pack and divide it evenly and then usually round up to the nearest even number or some people add a small tip to get the cost per bundle.

That's how we can get them for so cheap.
It can get as low as $1.25 per bundle if the host pays enough to get 5 gifts. snip
thanks The End! both you and Fox explained it :D can I check with you... how did you get 0.51 for the Flash (EDF) bundle earlier? http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10545172&postcount=1971

thanks Fox! it's much clearer now. in other words, it only makes sense if we make use of their giftpacks right? (and not what I mentioned in my post. Buy ONE in first week, Buy ONE during HH).

Partially correct - you have to buy ONE the first week and the buy a GIFT PACK during HH.

And I believe The End was stating the price for a BTA had dropped by .51 cents, not dropped to .51 cents.
thanks The End! both you and Fox explained it :D can I check with you... how did you get 0.51 for the Flash (EDF) bundle earlier? http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10545172&postcount=1971
$0.51 wasn't the price of a slot in a group buy. I think the lowest that we've ever seen for a group buy was $0.96 for either IG8 or IG9.

I'm pretty sure I was talking about the average price for the bundle. Just like with the Humble Bundles, the BTA price can go up or down. Especially during the beginning of the bundle. I guess it had dropped dramatically during the first few hours of that bundle.

EDIT: Yeah, what Fox said. I guess I should have refreshed the page after I spent 10 minutes reading through old posts in this thread & the group buy thread. lol

thanks The End and Fox :D
guess paying BTA for just one copy of this bundle made me realise how it all works

will be more careful next time and look out for these groupbuys :D thanks guys!

after checking with Indiegala.. seems like I can get in on the giftpacks
is anyone still keen on some?
(don't wanna end up getting them and no one wants them) lol

I would check the IG Group Buy page (linked in the OP).

I still have a few left and I know there's a few more people hosting so post in there to see if there is any demand.

Generally speaking, how have you found the demand for this bundle to be? I've pretty much decided to pass on this one because I own every Steam game except DoA. But not everyone has been as diligent as I've been with buying the Amazon Paradox packs.

So far, the demand has been fair. Not close to the best selling IG (I think that would probably go to Magicka, which is weird since I thought everyone had it). There's a few more people hosting this time so taking all that into account I'd say the demand is decent. Just by sales alone though, IG Magicka sold 30K plus for IG and Dwarves just broke 10K and probably won't reach 20K.

thanks once again Fox! :D
(I kinda regret buying this Gala pack.. I do have those Amazon Paradox packs.. haaa)

I think, to me, the best IG was the one with EDF...
I bought it during the first week at BTA.. bought one during HH.. so got 5 in total.
I'm doing it all wrong >

Deponia and Painkiller Black probably helped there.
