Yes, yet another indie bundle, but like the Humble Bundle, you can set your own price and donate to charity as well. The games only register on Steam, but that won't be a problem for most here. You get a key for each individual game, so you can gift whatever you do not personally want if you feel like it.

Happy Hour guidelines:

*Happy Hour happens at random times: sometimes as early as 4 days after the bundle going live, but most often during the second week of sales.

Happy Hour! Double Gifts! During Happy Hour time New buyers for every gift purchase get a 2nd bonus gift for free (2x1)! All gifts are doubled! Remember to check 'IS IT A GIFT'! *If you have not purchased the current Indie Gala yet, you can buy two for one during happy hour

And if you are an early buyer the deal is EVEN BIGGER!

Yes! If you already bought the current indiegala bundle, you get 2 bonus gifts for free for every gift purchased ( 3 x 1 ) *If you have already purchased the bundle, but you did not purchase it in the first week, you can buy three for one

And if you bought it in the first week you get 3 bonus gifts for free for every gift purchased ( 4 x 1 ) *If you already purchased the current bundle and did so in the first week of the current bundle going live, you can buy four for one

Remember to check 'IS IT A GIFT' ! if you want to take advantage of Happy Hour. You have to check this also if, after purchasing a bundle for yourself with your own email address, you want another additional bundle for you. If you don't, transactions amount will sum on your original email account and you can upgrade your purchase, obtaining more bonuses if you previously didn't unlock it, or more galapoints.

REMEMBER: (Gift purchases are not upgradable and don't contribute to upgrade your personal account for unlock new content.)
***For Happy Hour, you MUST use the same e-mail you used when buying your first bundle, and you MUST check the gift option below the payment method. You have to buy again during Happy Hour to receive gift copies.

CAG Group Buy Hosting FAQ

Q: I see all of these CAGs hosting group buys for people. What's that all about?
A: It's a way for CAGs to help each other get the best deal. One person will buy the bundle during the first week, then they will buy four gift copies at the highest tier during Happy Hour. This person is referred to as the host. They then try to sell these to participants for a fraction of the price of buying the "beat the average" bundle individually, plus some extra to distribute the cost of the initial bundle purchase in the first week. The host gains money back, and the participants get the full bundle for a fourth of the cost. Everyone wins.

Q: How do I host one?
A: To host a CAG group buy, you must first purchase the Indie Gala full BTA (beat the average) bundle in the first week (this has been changed since the previous bundles). This will allow you to purchase four additional bundles for the price of one during a Happy Hour, as stated in the Happy Hour post above. Now, it does matter how much you initially spend, as you must purchase the full bundle in order to purchase full bundle four-packs during Happy Hour. Then, once Happy Hour starts, you buy a gift copy for the current "beat the average" price, which will be listed on the Indie Gala page. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK "IS IT A GIFT" TO GET FOUR GIFT COPIES.

Q: It's asking me for multiple e-mail addresses. What do I do?
A: Just skip that part. The links to the gifts will be added to your account page (which is another reason why you must always use the same e-mail address when ordering from Indie Gala). Most hosts will send out the gift URLs to their participants in a PM.

Q: Is it hard to do?
A: No, it's very quick and easy. Just keep track of which gift URLs you have sent to which people, and you will be fine.

I personally guarantee that there will be a 4 for 1 happy hour at some point. They're gonna have to with a line-up like that.

To that point, does anybody know if in the past you were able to buy the lowest tier initially, and then be able to buy higher tier gift packs once they introduced the happy hour? If so, I might jump on-board for a buck right now, then help anybody out who wants to buy a reduced price gift copy later after the inevitable happy hour.

I think that should work (saw someone mention it on SPUF but I've never tried it), if you end up doing that I'll gladly join your group pack for happy hour.

I'll have to wait too. ARES is ok but it was already in Indie Royale. Disciples 2 looks cool but it's oooold. And Alien Shooter is even older. Not sure what to make of Altitude.

Wake actually looks most interesting to me but will probably go unnoticed since it's not on Steam.

Anyway. Hope the remaining 4 games are good ones because right now it really seems like they're going for quantity over quality.

If you've played one 'Shooter' game you've played them all. I've gotten Alien Shooter 2, Zombie Shooter, and Zombie Shooter 2 from various bundles/people giving me keys. The differences are imperceptible.
Whats the point of gala points? i've bought all the bundles and have like 7,000 points.
They haven't said yet, which is getting kind of absurd on the third bundle after their being introduced.
Whats the point of gala points? i've bought all the bundles and have like 7,000 points.
Nobody knows. And when I say nobody, I mean nobody. Not even the Indie Gala people know what the heck they're gonna be used for. If they did, they would have told us by now.

Oh and 7,000 points? You've been a heck of a lot more generous than I have. I'm only at 2,600.

Meh I might get in on a happy hour but that's about is much as I am willing to put into it. If they had ever made a use for for the galapoint and I could get a discount with them that might have also swayed me.

Someone on Steamgifts said the bonus games will be Really Big Sky and Steel Storm but I don't know if they have any evidence or are just talking out their @ss.

If they don't get an amazing bonus I have a feeling they'll be pushing a lot of happy hours and doing many deadline extensions to try to get the unrealistic numbers they always seem to expect.

If that's true, I'm disappointed.. already got Really Big Sky and Steel Storm from other bundles. All the more reason to wait for happy hour.

EDIT: I think they're assuming it's Really Big Sky and Steel Storm based on the video on the Indie Gala site.
Pretty soon Steam is going to run out of indie games! But I liked the last IndieGala so I hope this one has some good games in it.
They already ran out of games, this and the last humble bundle are just testing us for how much we will pay for a single new game and a bunch of repeated games... or a couple old games and a bunch of repeated games. Either way is a better business model than offering all non-repeated games. Because they know how much of a sucker we are for "indie" steam games.

Hrmm... Well, looks like I'll regret having purchased this one since I already own most of the bonus stuff. I went ahead and got it since they've been on a roll with bonus music and usually having several games I don't already have, but those tags indicate all the bonus stuff, including the music, is going to be repeated (from Indigala or other bundles). Ugh. However, it's the first time I've felt like I've been burned by a bundle, so I had a good run.
Not worth it/ worth it? .. I would like the Altitude.... But what is this happy hour thing?
A few weeks after they started, IndieGala started happy hour on IndieGala 2 and 3 (and I don't think it ever ended). Basically, by saying the copy you want to buy is a gift, you get two copies of the bundle, with their own individual Steam keys. People who had bought the bundle before Happy Hour started would get three copies when buying a gift, and those who had bought in the first week would get four.

This is all fine and good for generous souls, but what about the CAG? Assuming IndieGala 4 will add Happy Hour, which is almost inevitable at this point, one can slightly exploit it by buying a $1 bundle now, in the first week, and buying a gift over the average whenever Happy Hour starts, effectively netting them four copies of the IndieGala to do with what they please for a mere $1 over the average.

And if Happy Hour happens to not go live on this bundle, you could just up your $1 purchase to get the additional games. No risk involved if you're already going to buy it.

I'm going this route, but I happened to mistype my email as [email protected]n. Almost 36 hours since I sent my support email. :/

Happy Hours are on only for 1 hour!

I just bought 4 pack and I've got 2 unused BTA bundle gift links. I want to sell them for 2$ each (6.65$/4 "+2.9% +0.3$" PayPal fee). If you are interested, just leave a message here. I will answer by pm immediately after reading it.

Did it only last from 8 to 9 then? I just checked and no Happy Hour. =\
Yes, so it's over now.
Gone for now, maybe. But there'll be plenty more to come and I'm sure that before this bundle is all over they're gonna do a Happy Hour that'll last several days.

Did they do the 4 for 1 thing, or was it just a buy one get one happy hour?

4 for 1. At first I bought one 1$ bundle then after paying 5,65$ for gift I received 4 BTA bundle links.

Ah, so you were able to get away with buying a bundle for a buck and then buying BTA gift bundles? That's good to know. I bought a $1 bundle myself a few days ago with the hopes of being able to do just that.

Of course, I plan to wait & see what the bundle will ultimately contain before I pull the trigger on a 4 pack BTA purchase. If it's as bad as the leaked info suggests, I might just take a pass altogether.

They will add into the bundle Steel Storm, Really Big Sky and Lunnye Devitsy. That's for sure.
You can see snapshots of those games in gala's trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=c60Dd_bFCOY The titles of shown games are written in tags section under the player. Lunnye Devitsy is not on steam, so it will be the second DRM-free game.

I guess the last game will be another game from Alien Shooter series.

Even with repeated games I think it's the best gala bundle so far.
Even with repeated games I think it's the best gala bundle so far.
Talk about damning with faint praise.

Definitely passing for sure, this is the only bundle in which I have more than 50% of the games already! Wallet stays in good shape, thanks anyway OP!

I have 3 unused BTA gift links that I'm selling for $1.66 each (paypal gifted payment). PM me if interested!

Ah crap, I bought a 4 pack earlier with the expectation that you and Cheaplikeafox were on-board. I've still got plenty of time to unload my extra copies, so I'm not worried about that. But we need to figure out a way to coordinate this a little better if we're gonna do this sort of group buy thing with future Gala bundles.

Ah, sorry about that. Wasn't sure if you were going to go through with the happy hour gifts since you said you might pass on it in one of your last posts. I guess I should've asked you before I bought it.

Oh yeah, I guess I did say I was gonna pass. I guess I can't blame you then. No big deal though. As I said, we've got plenty of time to unload the extra copies.
If you go in on happy hour with someone for the gift, do you get the unlocks later?
As long as the gift bundles are Beat The Average, yes. Most of us will probably be buying the BTA bundles.

Yeah, I doubt you'll have any trouble selling them. Had no idea how long happy hours typically last, so I didn't spend too much timing thinking about it. I think the last one lasted 1 hour? But this one seems to last longer than 1 hour for some reason.

Yeah I bought my bundle at about 6:50AM EST. That was close to 3 hours ago.

The tweet that they sent out yesterday made it sound like the Happy Hours would only be 1 hour long. I knew that they wouldn't hold to that, but I'm surprised that they've broken from that plan so soon.

I bought another copy as gift since its happy hour (bought my own copy first day) and it gave me 4 gift copies lol.

Im going to give my extras away to friends. Im not one to sell stuff even if Im broke. Gift > a few extra bucks.

Alright, since it looks like sunghost is all set selling his copies, I'll offer up my 3 BTA gift bundles. If you want a copy, it'll be $1.66 via paypal GIFT. After you pay, I'll send you the gift link via PM.

If you're interested, PM me.

Sent you a PM.

I can't comment on the rest of the games, but Altitude is amazing. I purchased it 12/25/2010 during a Steam sale and most of my time gaming since then has been spent on Altitude. I'm at around 800 hours.

Altitude is an online multiplayer 2d plane shooter with two main game types, Team Based Destruction (TBD) and Ball. TBD involves trying to carry bombs to the other teams base and do enough damage to destroy their base before they blow yours up. Ball is a sports like game type with goals you must get the ball into. Both are excellent. There are several ship types that are well balanced. There is a call of duty like unlocking process for perks, but it shouldn't take too long to unlock everything. Also, the devs are great and play the game.

You do have to figure out what you are doing though before it is much fun. At first you will die every few seconds. The skill level is not what it used to be and pubs are kind of a joke. But after you know what you are doing you can join ladder servers and clans. Don't give up on the game if your first impressions are not great.

So I bought this. I bought a gift pack. That is to say 2 copies of the bundle. I paid 9.29 which is above the average. How do I know if I got everything? What IS everything?

Click the link in your email and then scroll down a bit and click "gala 4" spot. Under that itll show your gifts and you can link directly to them to people and they wont be able to see anything from the parent account that purchased the gift. Only the gift. And itll show everything you have keys to in them.

Oh I got how to see the gifts. I just don't know what you get for exceeding the average. So I kinda wanted to know if I got the "complete" set.

If you didn't beat the average, all that you'd see would be keys for A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda & Alien Shooter. If you have those keys but you also see keys for Disciples II & Altitude, as well as a direct download link for WAKE, then you've beaten the average.

If you paid $9.29, you should have beaten the average by almost 4 bucks. So if you don't see Disciple II & Altitude + Wake, you should contact support.

Not sure if this happened to anyone else either but the gifts I purchase actually had everything unlocked. I still don't even have them unlocked on my profile yet, it's just in the gifts that way...weird.

Steel Storm, Really Big Sky, Alien Shooter 2, and DRM Free Lunnye Devitsy.

Yeah, they've unlocked all of the games.

I have no interest/own nearly everything else on this bundle, though it is nice to see all of the unlocks already out.

I still am yet to get ARES however so if anyone has a spare I would GREATLY appreciate a PM with it! : P

Yeah I finally got the "We unlocked everything" email a bit later. For a while there my gifts had everything before I did.
