AMARILLO, Texas - Texas-based Hastings Entertainment Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Company officials say the reorganization filing includes its parent company, Draw Another Circle, and sister brands Movie Stop and SPImages.

A statement posted Monday on the Hastings website says the Chapter 11 process will help prepare the business for an intended sale, while providing protections and financing to continue operations. Further financial details weren’t released.

Hastings will no longer accept or honor deposits for movie purchases and will no longer rent games. Hastings gift cards expire July 13, 2016. The company’s buyback program has been suspended.

General
Question: What is Hastings / GoHastings.Com?
Answer:
Founded in 1968, Hastings Entertainment, Inc. is a leading multimedia entertainment retailer that combines the sale of new and used books, videos, video games and CDs, and trends and consumer electronics merchandise, with the rental of videos and video games in a superstore format. Currently there are 146 superstores. Hastings also operates www.goHastings.com, an e-commerce Internet Web site that makes available to customers new and used entertainment products and unique, contemporary gifts and toys.

Question: Gee, this is a really long FAQ. Doesn't Hasting have their own FAQ for customers?
Answer:
Hastings does have their own FAQ. You can read Hastings' official FAQ by clicking here. However, this FAQ goes into many details that Hastings' own FAQ does not. So be sure to read through all of this before asking a question!

Game / Item Condition
Question: What is the difference between "used" and "previously viewed" items on GoHastings.Com?
Answer:
"Used" games and movies are items that have been traded in to a Hastings retail location by a customer. "Previously viewed" games and movies are items that Hastings has rented out to customers at their retail locations but are now selling to the public.

When it comes to video games, most CAGs report no real difference between the two other than some ancillary stickers, but both "used" and "previously viewed" games are subject to being scratched, abused, or incomplete depending how well it was previously taken care of.

When it comes to movies, the "Previously Viewed" rental versions often lack features from the full retail versions and may come in different boxes, have different UPCs, have white barcode stickers around the center ring of the disc, etc.

You may encounter a situation where a customer has purchased a "previously used" item from Hastings, then traded it back into Hastings, thus making it a "used" item. This practiced is frowned upon by most customers, but Hastings has shown next to no incentive to change it. It mostly happens with movies.

Question: Do used and previously viewed video games come complete with the original case and manual?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com states as follows:

Due to the nature of used products; booklet inserts, digital movie downloads and manuals are not guaranteed in our used video games, movies and CDs.
However, the vast majority of CAGs have reported that a large majority of their games do arrive complete. Incomplete games are more of an exception rather than the rule.

Question: Are used collector's editions and limited editions of games guaranteed to come with extras like bonus discs, statutes, and other items?
Answer:
No. Hopefully the used CE and LE games would at least come with all of the discs, but this is not guaranteed. And there is absolutely no guarantee other physical items or "swag" will be included for these used copies. However, CAGs have reported that they have purchased used CE and LE games and received all of the extras. If you order a used CE or LE and it does not come with the extras, just contact customer service and ask about a return/refund.

Question: What condition do "used" and "previously viewed" discs come in?
Answer:
Mosts CAGs seem to get games in good, playable condition if not better. However, there have been cases of receiving a game so scratched up that it would not load/play. These games can be returned to GoHastings.Com at no cost to the customer for a full refund.

NEW!
Question: Are New condition games factory sealed or gutted and re-sealed?
Answer:
As of mid-2013, Hastings retail stores have adopted a policy of gutting games then storing the game discs, manuals and DLC papers separately. This is so they do not have to lock up games or put security cases on games yet still allow the customer to physically handle the boxes in-store. When a new game is sold, Hasting will either re-seal the game or they will place the game in a bag that cannot be opened if you want to return the game as new.

Shipping
Question: Why are my items shipping individually? Why does GoHastings.Com include a shipping charge for each individual item ordered?
Answer:
Hastings does not have warehouses for fulfilling internet orders. All items are shipped from individual brick and mortar retail stores. If your order contains multiple items, your order may ship from multiple locations at different times if one location does not have all of the items you ordered. Because items could ship from more than one location, GoHastings.Com charges a per item shipping fee. Yes this can be frustrating, so its best to either get over it if you intend to shop at GoHastings.Com, or if you can't get over it, shop elsewhere. Like all "deals," include the shipping price per item into consideration for the total cost of the game being purchased.

UPDATED!
Question: How much is shipping per item?
Answer:
Video Games and PC software ship for $2.28 per item.

CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays ship for $1.29 per item.

Books have a per-order charge of $3.00 plus $0.99 shipping per book ordered.

Game Hardware, Electronics and Trends have a per-order charge of $1.99 plus $0.10 shipping per ounce for each item ordered.

Full shipping information, including expedited shipping prices, can be found HERE.

Occasionally, GoHastings.Com offers free or reduced shipping promotions.

Please note, books used to ship for $0.96 per order with no per item charge but Hastings discontinued that pricing scheme as of January 10, 2014. CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays used to ship for $0.96 per item, but Hastings raised that price to the current cost as of approximately May 25, 2014.

Question: How long does it take GoHastings.Com to ship my order?
Answer:
Standard Shipping:
Order processed within 48 Hours
Shipping time is 3-10 Days

Priority / Expedited Mail:
Order processed within 48 Hours
Shipping time is 2 - 3 Days

Question: What service does GoHastings.Com use to ship items?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com primarily ships items using the United States Postal Service (USPS). Video games ship via USPS First Class Mail. Books, movies and music ship via USPS Media Mail. Larger orders may ship via UPS.

Question: Will GoHastings.Com give me a tracking number for each shipment?
Answer:
Every shipment usually has a tracking number associated with it. If you did not see a tracking number in the shipping confirmation email, check your order history on GoHastings.Com.

Question: What will GoHastings.Com ship my items in?
Answer:
It will vary. Hastings might use a yellow paper mailer with bubble padding on the inside. They might use a white plastic envelope with bubble padding on the inside. They might use a stiffer paper/lighter cardboard envelope with no padding. Hastings will try to jam as many items into any of the above envelope options as possible, resulting in frequently damaged books, broken game/movie/CD cases, etc. On rare occasions, someone at Hastings will have the common sense to put larger or heavier items into a box for safer shipping, but even then they will neglect to use padding. Hastings used to ship items in a white plastic poly-bag with absolutely no padding or protection, but after numerous complaints, the company claims these are supposed to be phased out and no longer in use. They still pop up from time to time.

Order Cancellations / Out Of Stock Items
Question: Why was an item cancelled out of my order? Why is that item back in stock right now?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com fills their stock from their Hastings brick and mortar retail locations. Additionally, GoHastings.Com sells items on Amazon and eBay. Their online inventory system is antiquated and does not update stock instantaneously across physical store locations, GoHastings.Com, Amazon, and eBay. Therefore if someone bought the same item first in store/on Amazon/on eBay, their order will be fulfilled first and your item will be cancelled if there is not enough inventory to go around, even though you thought the item was in stock. Yes this sucks, but now you know about it so you can simply choose not to shop at GoHastings in the future if you can't deal with it. No need to endlessly complain about it in posts. Consider writing a letter to the president of Hastings, whose contact info can be found below this FAQ.

Because Hastings' physical store locations accept trade-ins for the used items that they sell, an item that was out of stock may quickly come back into stock if someone trades in the same item, or if someone returns the same item. However, as stated above, GoHastings.Com has an antiquated online system, and they will not be able to fulfill any items on your order once they have been canceled. You will have to re-order the item, at which time the promotion you initially ordered under may have expired. You can try to contact customer service to see if they will create a new order for you with the price point your originally ordered under.

Question: I just ordered something and now it shows as out of stock, either on my order history page or on the item's page. Will my order be canceled?
Answer:
Probably not, but it is still possible. GoHastings.Com updates its inventory count immediately when sales from the website are made. Therefore if they had one item, and you ordered it, it will now show up as out of stock on GoHastings.Com. However, if someone ordered it off Hastings' eBay or Amazon Marketplace listings first, they may fulfill that order first and cancel your order. Also, if someone walks into the store and purchases the item before it is pulled to ship to you, your order will be canceled. Additionally, store employees may not be able to locate the item and thus cancel your order for that reason. Hastings also has a problem on their website where items in your order history show as out of stock, sometimes regardless of the actual stock. Your best bet is to take a deep breath and not worry about it.

Sale Pricing
NEW!
Question: How can I tell if one promotion or discount is better than a different commonly offered promotion or discount?
Answer:
The following guides are only for video games since they take into consideration the $2.28 per game shipping price. You will have to do your own math for music/movies, books, trends/electronics and other shipping sales.

Remember, stock and prices fluctuate constantly and may not be the same by the next sale.

The math in the Buy 2 Get 1 For $1 deal assumes you choose three equally priced games to maximize your potential savings.

Question: GoHastings.Com totally raised their prices prior to the sale! OMGWTFBBQSauce! Should I call the police / attorney general / president of the United States?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com claims to not raise their prices prior to sales. Their pricing is based on algorithms that consider things like supply, demand, competitor pricing, market rates, etc. If a game was $10 before the sale and $15 24 hours into the sale, chances are there were only a couple of copies of the game and someone bought one when the sale started, thus affecting the supply and demand. You are not the only one monitoring a Wish List on GoHastings.Com. However, there have been some clearly documented instances of raising prices right before a sale, especially with books rather than games.

Promotional Deal Codes
Question: Why is the promotional code not applying to my order?
Answer:
Certain M-rated games carry the disclaimer that "This item is only available for purchase by customers age 17 and older." If you have such a game in your cart, be sure to check the box by the "Check Out" button that says "I am at least 17 years of age" before clicking the "Apply Promotion Code" button to apply the promotional code.

Additionally, some promotional codes only apply to select qualifying titles. Be sure that your order only contains such titles. Occasionally the GoHastings.Com programmers miss something and games that are supposed to qualify do not work with the promotional code. If this is the case, please contact GoHastings.Com. Contact information can be found below this FAQ.

Question: Can I use more than one promotional code at the same time? Can I stack promotional codes?
Answer:
No, you can only apply one promotional code per order. This prevents code stacking. If there are two promotional codes valid at the same time that you would like to use, you must place two or more separate orders.

Question: What time do promotions normally begin / end?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com operates based on the Central Time Zone. Weekly promotions usually start on Sunday and usually last the whole week. Various other promotions may have different start times and durations. Promotions usually begin at midnight Central time. However, sometimes the new promotions take a while to go "live" on the website, so always double check your order that the correct discounted price is shown.

Order Problems and Contacting Customer Service
(Including Returns/Replacements for Wrong Item or Damaged/Defective Item)

Question: I am trying to place an order and have entered my correct shipping address, billing address and credit card info. The check out page says there is a problem with my information and I need to correct it, but nothing is incorrect. What is going on?!
Answer:
This is a random error that seems to affect some people and not others. There is no known cause for it. People have reported it occurring with different credit card companies (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, etc.). Some people think it has to do with what web browser you use, so perhaps try a different one. Some people have reported they can't place orders from computers or IP numbers located out of the state where their billing or shipping address is located. The bottom line is there is no fix for this problem from the customer's end. Your only attempt to get it resolved will be to CALL Customer Service. Contact details for Customer Service can be found below this FAQ.

Question: GoHastings.Com sent me a defective game or the wrong game. How do I return it? Can they send me a replacement/correct item?
Answer:
Contact customer service to initiate the return process. Customer service contact information is located in this post, below the FAQ. GoHastings.Com will not charge you to ship the game back, and they will give you a full refund, including what you paid initially for shipping. In some instances, they will simply refund the cost of the item and let you keep the defective or wrong item for free. GoHastings.Com will not normally send you a replacement item if you received a defective or incorrect item. They will usually tell you that you must place a new order, at which time the promotion you initially ordered under may have expired. You can try to contact customer service to see if they will create a new order for you with the price point you originally ordered under.

Question: Something went wrong with my order. How do I contact customer service?
Answer:
Customer service contact information is located in this post, below the FAQ.

Question: Should I call or email customer service?
Answer:
CAGs have reported mixed experiences with both calling and emailing Hastings Customer Service. It is up to your preference. If you are contacting them regarding credit card issues, it may be best to call rather than put highly sensitive information in an email. If you call during business hours, your issue may be resolved right then over the phone. You might also have to wait on hold for a long period of time during peak hours. If you email, you may have to wait up to 48 hours to get a response, especially if you email over the weekend. Often the email replies fail to understand your entire issue with your order. Customer Service contact information is located in this post, below the FAQ.

Question: What is GoHastings.Com return policy?
Answer:
The GoHastings.Com website states their return policy is as follows:

All items purchased through gohastings.com may be returned for a full refund of the purchase price, if they meet the following criteria:

 • All new items are in original unopened packaging.
 • Return of product is within 30 days of shipping date.
 • Returned product(s) must be in the original packaging and include any manuals, cabling and accessories in saleable condition.
 • Video Game Systems that are found defective within the 30 day window must make a return using the manufacturer's warranty.
Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.
Note: Products purchased through goHastings.com may not be returned to a physical store location for refund.
However, this can be confusing considering used items, such as games, come in opened packaging. Normally GoHastings has no problem with returns for defective or incorrect used game shipments that are promptly requested. At the very least, if a game item was found to be defective within 30 days of the shipping date, you would have a good argument toward customer service that you should be able to return the game item. Abusing the return policy to replace your own broken items with items from GoHastings inventory wouldn't be a good idea.

Question: Where are Hastings brick and mortar retail stores located?
Answer:
Question: Are the online prices the same in store? Are the online specials valid in store?
Answer:
Generally speaking, no. For used items and for some new items, GoHastings.Com uses algorithms where prices can change multiple times in one day. Hastings retail locations have their own set prices. See your local store for more information. Additionally, online special sales and promotions are not valid in store. Sometimes Hastings runs the same pricing online and in store for certain items.

Question: Are the brick and mortar retail location advertisements valid online?
Answer:
Generally the prices in the retail location advertisements are not valid on GoHastings.Com. Sometimes Hastings runs the same pricing online and in store for certain items.
No, he's right. This time they really stocked up on the plastic mailer. It's like Best Buy's mailers but without the pull tab.

The shipping is a lot faster too. I've been getting my games in just two days as of late. Almost makes me glad to be charged shipping for each item.
Maybe they're just doing this for games then, because I've been ordering DVDs lately, and it's still the same stuff, literally as of last week.

Tekken Hybrid and Dead rising 2 OTR (both previously viewed) showed up today, both in like new condition and complete. I was worried since it's Pre-view but it's all good. Since shipping is charged per item, I find it better to order single game per order rather than 2 or 3 in one order, because they'll usually shove 2-3 in one bubble mailer and it'll more than likely crushed your case.
Got dead rising 2 zombrex edition for $13.
Good deal. I've been looking for Dead Rising 2: Off the Record during this sale but it's sold out.
anyone know why when this deal went live dragon age origins 360 randomly jumped to 30 bucks used
Their prices fluctuate randomly, and sometimes with no plausible reason. Usually it fluctuates through Amazon prices, so if a cheaper one is listed, or if a cheaper one has been sold, the prices through their Amazon store and their own store will change to reflect that. In this case, it looks like it's just one of those hiccups that doesn't really have an explanation since it's way above any used price out there.

should i grab the used me3 ce for 18 what do you guys think the condition would be for a ce used

also fyi ff13 while listed in the deal does not discount in cart

I just got one this morning. I figure for $20, I'll be happy with the game and artwork with nothing else. If there is, it'll be gravy.

I received three books in the mail from Hastings today from the 3 for $21 deal. The books are all OOP and Hastings was charging an arm and a leg for them but screwed up and included them in the sale. They were all in what I'd call "Good" condition with considerable wear. If I paid Hastings' original ridiculous prices or even those prices with 30% off, I'd probably be pissed and send the books back. Their quality standards are definitely slipping on trade ins. But for $7 a pop I'll keep them.

I've got one 3 for $21 book in the mail that should arrive tomorrow, and of course the other two from 3 for $21, the ones I want the most, have been sitting there for 6 days now "In Progress" along with a cheap DC Absolute. I've got a sinking feeling those three will be cancelled. At this point I'm hoping Hastings made an error, already shipped them, and didn't mark them as shipped (which has happened to me in the past).
this is no deal when shipping is $25 and tax is $10
Does not know how to use Gohastings effectively...

Anyone know how good gohastings is with exchanges, cod waw say "can't read disc" when i try to install it to my hdd?
I have three games in my cart and it shipping is around $7. I thought the .96 sale was over. is there a way to get free or cheaper shipping?
No, GH shipping is what it is, but the point is, like where ever you purchase, you have to consider the cost of shipping plus tax into the cost of each individual game you buy.

And I don't know why you'd put THREE games into your cart and expect an amazing deal (assuming they aren't Xbox 360 games) - its Buy 1 Get 1 50% off. So you're paying full price for 2 games and getting the third (and cheapest of the bunch) for 50% off because you don't have a fourth game to get for 50% off, making your savings absolutely minimal. But if you had 4 games, that's a whole other discussion since Hastings will just take 50% off the two cheapest games and that's not maximizing the deal, which at its best, is only 25% off each game assuming you buy two games priced the same. If the two games aren't priced the same then your discount is even less than 25% per game.

So let's pretend you're even playing the discount code game right - even then, you have to factor in the $2.28 shipping per item, plus sales tax in your situation. That's what all the other regulars in this thread do. We find plenty of great deals despite Hastings' odd shipping price policy. The odds are whatever games you are looking at aren't at a good price to begin with, so you're not going to get a great deal at 25% off per game (or less with this deal) plus shipping.

You may want to wait until there is a straight up 30% (or 33%) off sale, but you'll still have to factor in shipping and tax to see if it is a deal.

Or if you do have used Xbox 360 games in your cart right now for the 33% off - the games are obviously overpriced to begin with and thus you're just not going to get a deal, so simply move on.

And if a particular game or games don't come out to be a deal - don't buy them. It's as simple as that.

Its 33% off so $18 for mgs hd and $13 for tales of vesperia. Great prices but tax and shipping make them not so great. The other game wasn't a great deal but figured i would get it to save on shipping but i didn't realize hastings would rape on shipping

2.28 is cheaper than you'd pay for someone to send it to you via USPS. Hastings isn't a huge retailer by any means (to my knowledge) in comparison to Amazon or Best Buy who has stores across the globe and can afford free shipping.

On the plus side of things the used deals are normally good enough to warrant the shipping charge. Tax is usually what murders my decisions lol

Hastings is great when they have the Free Shipping and 0.96 shipping offers

Use them quite a bit for books and movies. 2.28 does suck, but it is better than some places

amazon 3rd party is generally 2.99 or more (depending on what you are buying). It always amazes me when people complain about hastings shipping. If you buy multiple items from the same person on amazon you get charged per item shipping.... Its only when you are buying new or from a retailer who keeps their inventory at amazon warehouses do you get free shipping, and then that cost is generally built in to the cost of the item anyway....
I initially had 10 games in my cart. $25 shipping. Then I lol'd at hastings.
Can you just leave the thread then since you don't understand how to shop for deals, despite having it explained to you?
Can you just leave the thread then since you don't understand how to shop for deals, despite having it explained to you?
You should have just replied with "I lol'd at you."

Urgh, Hastings cancelled my $20 Absolute Dark Knight and two other HC books after a week. I know cancellations happen, but sitting on the order for a week is just annoying.

On the plus side, two more oversized hardcovers I wanted came back into stock a couple nights ago, and last night the prices plummeted because of Amazon Marketplace competition, so Hastings dropped their prices to compete. One was an out of place extremely low listing price and the other was from a reputable bookstore, but the book didn't have the dust jacket, which of course Hastings' computer doesn't know. So those price drops + what amounted to a 20% off discount worked for me. I hope they ship.

GH.com has been my crack lately. Ordered ~$60-worth of games last week (which will arrive either tomorrow or Friday) and just placed another order with a couple of double-dips destined for the Best Buy trade-in promo. ~$27 with shipping and if the TIVs hold, would be worth $44 (+10% if that part of the promo is still going).

I finally got the last of my 3-guide used book order (AC:R, Pokemon B&W CE, and The Witcher 2) and all three are in pristine, untorn condition. I have to wonder where those of you who get damaged books live since I've never had a used book arrive in anything other than "Like New" condition.

ordered bioshock 2 the other day and was surprised to see it arrive already when i got the mail today. then i opened it up and it didnt have a manual and the case was cracked. aww gohastings you shouldnt have

Location has little to do with it. I'm in southern California and I could get a book from them as close as 9 hours away in Arizona or as far away as Kentucky or where ever their farthest store is. It doesn't mean the "used" book they accepted from someone was ever in Like New condition to begin with. Packaging is a huge issue when it comes to item condition. The paperback I recently got with the cover torn half way off was an entirely avoidable situation had those books been packaged properly, perhaps in a box, and not shoved in a giant bubble mailer. I've ordered a ton of books at this point and I've received Used books that are probably New (just got a used HC sealed in plastic this week), but I've also received books that had food product inside of them. It all comes down to the quality control of the employee who accepts the trade in, and then the luck of how the book is packaged.

Curious, how long does goHastings usually take to ship an item? I'm being impatient I know, but it's been two days and I haven't gotten any type of notification that my item is going to be shipped. When I go to "View Order" I get:
The order number and billing ZIP code you have entered do not match our records. Please try again.

I'm almost positive my order is going to be canceled seeing how I bought a D3 CE and just found out goHastings is infamous for canceling and selling stuff they don't even have in stock.

But just wanted to know so I can shoot them an e-mail and cancel my order.

Got Lost Planet 2, Crackdown 2, Gears 2 Limited Edition, & Lego Batman for $25 shipped. Best quality used games I've ever gotten. Definitely going to buy from them more often.

Call them tomorrow and straighten out whatever it is causing the delay. They should be able to help you out.

In my experience, sometimes orders can be held up during processing because one or more of the items may be hard to come by and they are actively checking each distribution center before pushing through the full order. My orders on common in stock items can sometimes take a day or two or process. They will email you notification once it ships or if something is cancelled.

Either way, I would definitely contact them (via phone!) and see what may be holding things up.

I've ordered a few games (2 separate orders) in the past 5 days and should have 1 of my orders tomorrow. One of them already came.

Both have come from different distribution centers.

So I emailed CS asking why it took them a week to cancel those books in my order. Especially since someone at the store the order invoice was sent to should have looked for the items within 48 hours, and if they didn't find them, they should have cancelled my order then (or had the computer go to the next location - but these books were only 1 in stock so multiple locations should not have been an option). I asked if anyone even tried to find those items in the store or if my order was simply forgotten about by some employees in the store. I closed it by saying I didn't need a canned explanation of their cancellation policy if they didn't have any real answers about what happened with my order.

Here is the response I got, which answers absolutely nothing I asked. I'm wondering if it was an automated CS email...

Unfortunately, we do not receive prior notification regarding the availability of the products we offer. However, you may add the item to your "Wish List." Once you have entered any product into your "Wish List," you will need to check the box next to the product(s you want our system to email you about. You will receive email notification as soon as the item is available for order. Please know this does not obligate you to purchase the item. *Please note that several customers may have that same item on their wish list. If that is the case, the item may be gone from sale when you are able to get to the product to order. If you need anything further please don't hesitate to contact us. Otherwise, no response is needed.
I... don't even...

On top of not answering what I asked, their Wish List doesn't even work like that. There are no check boxes next to the items on my wish list, and certainly no option to click a button to notify me when the items are back in stock. There's no option for that on the item pages either.

So either Hastings used to have a superior Wish List and downgraded their Wish List to the one they've had for at least the past few years, somehow I'm stuck in a weird position in the space time continuum and don't have these options but you all do, these are going to be upcoming future features of the wish list, or Hastings doesn't know how their own Wish List works.

Weird stuff.

Here's my understanding of their cancellation policy: I was also told that there's a 7 day window they keep open to check if something in stock, and then they cancel your order. Obviously this isn't exactly true because they'll sometimes cancel orders almost immediately. If I had to guess, I think the orders where something is cancelled right away are times when they either have already sold that product online in another order prior to yours, or they know that the product sold in stores already. I think the 7 day window thing is probably when stores actually just flat out lose the product. I think they are holding out hope it's either found or another store comes into it, but really I think that's what happens. I've had a bunch of orders cancelled either way, and normally the more obscure books are the 7 day window, while games are normally immediate. I think that the more "rare" or unusual items probably get lost easier, and this would probably explain any delays for collector's editions of games, too.

Sorry to hear your Absolute Dark Knight got cancelled. My Absolute Long Halloween just came in yesterday. It's not quite the same condition as the unopened All Star Supernan I had gotten previously. The Absolute "box" was all beat up and ripped, but the book itself seemed to be fine.

So you're the one that snagged the Absolute Long Halloween! When did you purchase that? For the longest time they didn't even have a used listing for it, but then like the day after I ordered the Absolute Dark Knight I went and checked for more used Absolutes and saw there was a used listing for Long Halloween, meaning it came into stock used and someone grabbed it. What did you pay for it?

At any rate I'm glad I didn't get that Long Halloween then because I would have been pissed about the slip case and either returned it or flipped it onto eBay if I could break even after shipping and fees.

As for the 7 day window, it just doesn't make any sense to me. All three books were graphic novels, but not common ones they'd frequently get stock of or anything. Like how often is an Absolute Dark Knight traded in? So if they can't find them in store the first time they look, I don't think they'll magically find them in a week or have other copies traded in within a week. Either the books were sold and not taken out of the system or they were shoplifted and are still in the system. Or a comic fan employee finds the book and decides that's something he or she wants and puts it to the side for themselves instead of shipping it for the customer. From the way people have described Hastings stores, it sounds like they are under staffed with little to no managerial oversight so one could get away with things like that, potentially. Either way, it seems really unusual to me to make a customer wait 7 days like that. If its not there, its not there, so just cancel it.

Got my 360 ME3 Collector's Edition in the mail today. It came complete with unused codes. The box is a little dinged up and the tin case has residue because some fool put the Microsoft seal sticker on the front of it and I peeled it off. But for $20 I feel I made out good and got a steal.

Thanks! Was going to call today but saw I got a new email from goHastings at 4 AM CST. Figured it was to let me know that they were going to cancel my order, but to my surprise it was a notification to let me know that my item was going to ship shortly. :bouncy:

7lbs sounds about right for the item, just hope they didn't mess up the order or something. :whistle2:#

I think I ordered mine right after you mentioned Absolute Dark Knight in this thread for $14.99. Pretty good deal even if the box is messed up.

Its a good deal even if it didn't have the box, but I prefer my stuff to be in Very Good or better condition. A ripped apart slipcase is of no use to me.

Was roaming the site and found Fallout New Vegas Ultimate edition for $29.99

I bought that really quick and applied the code and got it for $24.13

I went back to the page to buy another,

But it was sold out already...

Probably.

I've been looking for a good deal on this for 4 months!

Nice, I ordered a "new" game and not only did they send me an opened copy of a used game, but it didn't even have any of the original packaging. It was basically a used disc-only sold as new.

Gotta read the fine print man:bouncy:

Sometimes NEW refers to - Newly Used.

Received my order from last week just yesterday, all arrived in one box. 4 out of 5 :360:games in really great shape, manuals, cases and everything... except for one with a badly cracked center ring. Have already received a reply from CS and will be returning it today.

My love/dislike (hate is too strong) relationship with GH continues. I'll keep ordering from them as long as the return process remains smooth.

Received my Limited Edition Gears of War 2 the other day. It was only the steelbook (in perfect condition) portion. Outer box, slipcase, and hardcover artbook were not included. I was mildly disappointed that it wasn't complete; not even sure why they even took that in from someone since it doesn't have a UPC code on the steelbook at all.

I won't be contacting them about it since it was only $6 and I'm satisfied with what I did get. Knowing they would fix the issue upon request also keeps me from nitpicking.

I've been trying to order Shadows of the Damned after having it cancelled a few days ago but it wont go thru, I keep getting a message telling me to contact service -_-
Jetsons promo code is likely dead. It's not working for me upon checkout. Damn.
Check again it just worked for me, type it in all caps maybe? That's what i did.
