AMARILLO, Texas - Texas-based Hastings Entertainment Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Company officials say the reorganization filing includes its parent company, Draw Another Circle, and sister brands Movie Stop and SPImages.

A statement posted Monday on the Hastings website says the Chapter 11 process will help prepare the business for an intended sale, while providing protections and financing to continue operations. Further financial details weren’t released.

Hastings will no longer accept or honor deposits for movie purchases and will no longer rent games. Hastings gift cards expire July 13, 2016. The company’s buyback program has been suspended.

General
Question: What is Hastings / GoHastings.Com?
Answer:
Founded in 1968, Hastings Entertainment, Inc. is a leading multimedia entertainment retailer that combines the sale of new and used books, videos, video games and CDs, and trends and consumer electronics merchandise, with the rental of videos and video games in a superstore format. Currently there are 146 superstores. Hastings also operates www.goHastings.com, an e-commerce Internet Web site that makes available to customers new and used entertainment products and unique, contemporary gifts and toys.

Question: Gee, this is a really long FAQ. Doesn't Hasting have their own FAQ for customers?
Answer:
Hastings does have their own FAQ. You can read Hastings' official FAQ by clicking here. However, this FAQ goes into many details that Hastings' own FAQ does not. So be sure to read through all of this before asking a question!

Game / Item Condition
Question: What is the difference between "used" and "previously viewed" items on GoHastings.Com?
Answer:
"Used" games and movies are items that have been traded in to a Hastings retail location by a customer. "Previously viewed" games and movies are items that Hastings has rented out to customers at their retail locations but are now selling to the public.

When it comes to video games, most CAGs report no real difference between the two other than some ancillary stickers, but both "used" and "previously viewed" games are subject to being scratched, abused, or incomplete depending how well it was previously taken care of.

When it comes to movies, the "Previously Viewed" rental versions often lack features from the full retail versions and may come in different boxes, have different UPCs, have white barcode stickers around the center ring of the disc, etc.

You may encounter a situation where a customer has purchased a "previously used" item from Hastings, then traded it back into Hastings, thus making it a "used" item. This practiced is frowned upon by most customers, but Hastings has shown next to no incentive to change it. It mostly happens with movies.

Question: Do used and previously viewed video games come complete with the original case and manual?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com states as follows:

Due to the nature of used products; booklet inserts, digital movie downloads and manuals are not guaranteed in our used video games, movies and CDs.
However, the vast majority of CAGs have reported that a large majority of their games do arrive complete. Incomplete games are more of an exception rather than the rule.

Question: Are used collector's editions and limited editions of games guaranteed to come with extras like bonus discs, statutes, and other items?
Answer:
No. Hopefully the used CE and LE games would at least come with all of the discs, but this is not guaranteed. And there is absolutely no guarantee other physical items or "swag" will be included for these used copies. However, CAGs have reported that they have purchased used CE and LE games and received all of the extras. If you order a used CE or LE and it does not come with the extras, just contact customer service and ask about a return/refund.

Question: What condition do "used" and "previously viewed" discs come in?
Answer:
Mosts CAGs seem to get games in good, playable condition if not better. However, there have been cases of receiving a game so scratched up that it would not load/play. These games can be returned to GoHastings.Com at no cost to the customer for a full refund.

NEW!
Question: Are New condition games factory sealed or gutted and re-sealed?
Answer:
As of mid-2013, Hastings retail stores have adopted a policy of gutting games then storing the game discs, manuals and DLC papers separately. This is so they do not have to lock up games or put security cases on games yet still allow the customer to physically handle the boxes in-store. When a new game is sold, Hasting will either re-seal the game or they will place the game in a bag that cannot be opened if you want to return the game as new.

Shipping
Question: Why are my items shipping individually? Why does GoHastings.Com include a shipping charge for each individual item ordered?
Answer:
Hastings does not have warehouses for fulfilling internet orders. All items are shipped from individual brick and mortar retail stores. If your order contains multiple items, your order may ship from multiple locations at different times if one location does not have all of the items you ordered. Because items could ship from more than one location, GoHastings.Com charges a per item shipping fee. Yes this can be frustrating, so its best to either get over it if you intend to shop at GoHastings.Com, or if you can't get over it, shop elsewhere. Like all "deals," include the shipping price per item into consideration for the total cost of the game being purchased.

UPDATED!
Question: How much is shipping per item?
Answer:
Video Games and PC software ship for $2.28 per item.

CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays ship for $1.29 per item.

Books have a per-order charge of $3.00 plus $0.99 shipping per book ordered.

Game Hardware, Electronics and Trends have a per-order charge of $1.99 plus $0.10 shipping per ounce for each item ordered.

Full shipping information, including expedited shipping prices, can be found HERE.

Occasionally, GoHastings.Com offers free or reduced shipping promotions.

Please note, books used to ship for $0.96 per order with no per item charge but Hastings discontinued that pricing scheme as of January 10, 2014. CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays used to ship for $0.96 per item, but Hastings raised that price to the current cost as of approximately May 25, 2014.

Question: How long does it take GoHastings.Com to ship my order?
Answer:
Standard Shipping:
Order processed within 48 Hours
Shipping time is 3-10 Days

Priority / Expedited Mail:
Order processed within 48 Hours
Shipping time is 2 - 3 Days

Question: What service does GoHastings.Com use to ship items?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com primarily ships items using the United States Postal Service (USPS). Video games ship via USPS First Class Mail. Books, movies and music ship via USPS Media Mail. Larger orders may ship via UPS.

Question: Will GoHastings.Com give me a tracking number for each shipment?
Answer:
Every shipment usually has a tracking number associated with it. If you did not see a tracking number in the shipping confirmation email, check your order history on GoHastings.Com.

Question: What will GoHastings.Com ship my items in?
Answer:
It will vary. Hastings might use a yellow paper mailer with bubble padding on the inside. They might use a white plastic envelope with bubble padding on the inside. They might use a stiffer paper/lighter cardboard envelope with no padding. Hastings will try to jam as many items into any of the above envelope options as possible, resulting in frequently damaged books, broken game/movie/CD cases, etc. On rare occasions, someone at Hastings will have the common sense to put larger or heavier items into a box for safer shipping, but even then they will neglect to use padding. Hastings used to ship items in a white plastic poly-bag with absolutely no padding or protection, but after numerous complaints, the company claims these are supposed to be phased out and no longer in use. They still pop up from time to time.

Order Cancellations / Out Of Stock Items
Question: Why was an item cancelled out of my order? Why is that item back in stock right now?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com fills their stock from their Hastings brick and mortar retail locations. Additionally, GoHastings.Com sells items on Amazon and eBay. Their online inventory system is antiquated and does not update stock instantaneously across physical store locations, GoHastings.Com, Amazon, and eBay. Therefore if someone bought the same item first in store/on Amazon/on eBay, their order will be fulfilled first and your item will be cancelled if there is not enough inventory to go around, even though you thought the item was in stock. Yes this sucks, but now you know about it so you can simply choose not to shop at GoHastings in the future if you can't deal with it. No need to endlessly complain about it in posts. Consider writing a letter to the president of Hastings, whose contact info can be found below this FAQ.

Because Hastings' physical store locations accept trade-ins for the used items that they sell, an item that was out of stock may quickly come back into stock if someone trades in the same item, or if someone returns the same item. However, as stated above, GoHastings.Com has an antiquated online system, and they will not be able to fulfill any items on your order once they have been canceled. You will have to re-order the item, at which time the promotion you initially ordered under may have expired. You can try to contact customer service to see if they will create a new order for you with the price point your originally ordered under.

Question: I just ordered something and now it shows as out of stock, either on my order history page or on the item's page. Will my order be canceled?
Answer:
Probably not, but it is still possible. GoHastings.Com updates its inventory count immediately when sales from the website are made. Therefore if they had one item, and you ordered it, it will now show up as out of stock on GoHastings.Com. However, if someone ordered it off Hastings' eBay or Amazon Marketplace listings first, they may fulfill that order first and cancel your order. Also, if someone walks into the store and purchases the item before it is pulled to ship to you, your order will be canceled. Additionally, store employees may not be able to locate the item and thus cancel your order for that reason. Hastings also has a problem on their website where items in your order history show as out of stock, sometimes regardless of the actual stock. Your best bet is to take a deep breath and not worry about it.

Sale Pricing
NEW!
Question: How can I tell if one promotion or discount is better than a different commonly offered promotion or discount?
Answer:
The following guides are only for video games since they take into consideration the $2.28 per game shipping price. You will have to do your own math for music/movies, books, trends/electronics and other shipping sales.

Remember, stock and prices fluctuate constantly and may not be the same by the next sale.

The math in the Buy 2 Get 1 For $1 deal assumes you choose three equally priced games to maximize your potential savings.

Question: GoHastings.Com totally raised their prices prior to the sale! OMGWTFBBQSauce! Should I call the police / attorney general / president of the United States?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com claims to not raise their prices prior to sales. Their pricing is based on algorithms that consider things like supply, demand, competitor pricing, market rates, etc. If a game was $10 before the sale and $15 24 hours into the sale, chances are there were only a couple of copies of the game and someone bought one when the sale started, thus affecting the supply and demand. You are not the only one monitoring a Wish List on GoHastings.Com. However, there have been some clearly documented instances of raising prices right before a sale, especially with books rather than games.

Promotional Deal Codes
Question: Why is the promotional code not applying to my order?
Answer:
Certain M-rated games carry the disclaimer that "This item is only available for purchase by customers age 17 and older." If you have such a game in your cart, be sure to check the box by the "Check Out" button that says "I am at least 17 years of age" before clicking the "Apply Promotion Code" button to apply the promotional code.

Additionally, some promotional codes only apply to select qualifying titles. Be sure that your order only contains such titles. Occasionally the GoHastings.Com programmers miss something and games that are supposed to qualify do not work with the promotional code. If this is the case, please contact GoHastings.Com. Contact information can be found below this FAQ.

Question: Can I use more than one promotional code at the same time? Can I stack promotional codes?
Answer:
No, you can only apply one promotional code per order. This prevents code stacking. If there are two promotional codes valid at the same time that you would like to use, you must place two or more separate orders.

Question: What time do promotions normally begin / end?
Answer:
GoHastings.Com operates based on the Central Time Zone. Weekly promotions usually start on Sunday and usually last the whole week. Various other promotions may have different start times and durations. Promotions usually begin at midnight Central time. However, sometimes the new promotions take a while to go "live" on the website, so always double check your order that the correct discounted price is shown.

Order Problems and Contacting Customer Service
(Including Returns/Replacements for Wrong Item or Damaged/Defective Item)

Question: I am trying to place an order and have entered my correct shipping address, billing address and credit card info. The check out page says there is a problem with my information and I need to correct it, but nothing is incorrect. What is going on?!
Answer:
This is a random error that seems to affect some people and not others. There is no known cause for it. People have reported it occurring with different credit card companies (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, etc.). Some people think it has to do with what web browser you use, so perhaps try a different one. Some people have reported they can't place orders from computers or IP numbers located out of the state where their billing or shipping address is located. The bottom line is there is no fix for this problem from the customer's end. Your only attempt to get it resolved will be to CALL Customer Service. Contact details for Customer Service can be found below this FAQ.

Question: GoHastings.Com sent me a defective game or the wrong game. How do I return it? Can they send me a replacement/correct item?
Answer:
Contact customer service to initiate the return process. Customer service contact information is located in this post, below the FAQ. GoHastings.Com will not charge you to ship the game back, and they will give you a full refund, including what you paid initially for shipping. In some instances, they will simply refund the cost of the item and let you keep the defective or wrong item for free. GoHastings.Com will not normally send you a replacement item if you received a defective or incorrect item. They will usually tell you that you must place a new order, at which time the promotion you initially ordered under may have expired. You can try to contact customer service to see if they will create a new order for you with the price point you originally ordered under.

Question: Something went wrong with my order. How do I contact customer service?
Answer:
Customer service contact information is located in this post, below the FAQ.

Question: Should I call or email customer service?
Answer:
CAGs have reported mixed experiences with both calling and emailing Hastings Customer Service. It is up to your preference. If you are contacting them regarding credit card issues, it may be best to call rather than put highly sensitive information in an email. If you call during business hours, your issue may be resolved right then over the phone. You might also have to wait on hold for a long period of time during peak hours. If you email, you may have to wait up to 48 hours to get a response, especially if you email over the weekend. Often the email replies fail to understand your entire issue with your order. Customer Service contact information is located in this post, below the FAQ.

Question: What is GoHastings.Com return policy?
Answer:
The GoHastings.Com website states their return policy is as follows:

All items purchased through gohastings.com may be returned for a full refund of the purchase price, if they meet the following criteria:

 • All new items are in original unopened packaging.
 • Return of product is within 30 days of shipping date.
 • Returned product(s) must be in the original packaging and include any manuals, cabling and accessories in saleable condition.
 • Video Game Systems that are found defective within the 30 day window must make a return using the manufacturer's warranty.
Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.
Note: Products purchased through goHastings.com may not be returned to a physical store location for refund.
However, this can be confusing considering used items, such as games, come in opened packaging. Normally GoHastings has no problem with returns for defective or incorrect used game shipments that are promptly requested. At the very least, if a game item was found to be defective within 30 days of the shipping date, you would have a good argument toward customer service that you should be able to return the game item. Abusing the return policy to replace your own broken items with items from GoHastings inventory wouldn't be a good idea.

Question: Where are Hastings brick and mortar retail stores located?
Answer:
Question: Are the online prices the same in store? Are the online specials valid in store?
Answer:
Generally speaking, no. For used items and for some new items, GoHastings.Com uses algorithms where prices can change multiple times in one day. Hastings retail locations have their own set prices. See your local store for more information. Additionally, online special sales and promotions are not valid in store. Sometimes Hastings runs the same pricing online and in store for certain items.

Question: Are the brick and mortar retail location advertisements valid online?
Answer:
Generally the prices in the retail location advertisements are not valid on GoHastings.Com. Sometimes Hastings runs the same pricing online and in store for certain items.

A couple good 3DS deals: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS for $13.40 shipped and Resident Evil: Revelations for about ~$11 shipped. I was going to snag both, but I hardly play my 3DS and I doubt that'll change anytime soon. Someone should definitely jump on these deals though.

Got most of my DBZ Season dvd's which I guess shipped from the same location. They were all in fantastic shape and were complete with no mix ups or issues.

Just waiting on one season which was shipped from further away. Awesome. :bouncy:

My apologies for being so paranoid about this site. Reading the negative reviews scared me to a worry!

I just noticed that a Previously Viewed movie got the discount and free shipping when I added it to my cart. Not sure if that is a glitch or if the SHIPTWEET code is meant to do that.

Previously Viewed movies work with the codes, Previously Viewed games do not.

Honestly, the primary reason is so that I can feel like I have 'caught up', but granted most of these are related to Darkest Night/Brightest Day which I am told are incredible arcs, or at least take place within that timeframe (Identity Crisis, Infinite Crisis and related books, and Final Crisis and related books). I'm really amped to read a lot of recent Batman comics (Batman, Batwoman, Batgirl) and New 52 books, but having tried to read Scott Snyder's The Black Mirror to find that Damien Wayne was Batman now and Bruce Wayne had initiated Batman Incorporated already prior to that storyline, I decided I would bone up since so much of what is happening now is STILL rooted in character history even after so many fucking crises meant to purge DC of its deep history. Anyway, already bought the books so I'll read em.

I think you mean Dick Grayson was Batman and Damian Wayne is Robin. I think if you know Batman kind-of died-but-then-really-wasn't-dead-and-eventually-came-back so Dick stepped in and Bruce has a son with Talia who became Robin, that's all the recent background you need for Black Mirror. And it was Grant Morrison who started those changes so I'd wager you only need to go back as far as Batman and Son onward to catch up on that.

And while those events are still in continuity, Bruce is back under the cowl in the New 52 and Dick is back to being Nightwing. Damian is still Robin but there's speculation that won't be for too much longer. But even with Batman retaining most of its continuity, stuff is still being removed from continuity by editorial mandate. Huntress doesn't exist on Earth 1 anymore, the latter two Batgirls don't exist as of now, Tim Drake was now never one of the Robins but instead was always "Red Robin"... and his parents aren't dead anymore... and "Tim Drake" is only his witness protection name (awaiting the inevitable that his real name is Robin John Blake).

And other than Batman, Green Lantern titles retained their continuity for the most part (or as much as Geoff Johns wants them to), but otherwise, the New 52 was pretty much a reboot so I don't think any of those big events are in continuity anymore for anyone but the Batman and Green Lantern books, and for those books, only as much as necessary. Officially DC says there were no Crisis events in the New 52, "Death of Superman" MAYBE is still part of his continuity... but just maybe, if one throw away line in Animal Man is accurate, Bruce's "time travel" was now something else or caused by something else since there is no Final Crisis, and Zero Hour apparently did happen for Hal Jordan's sake of needing to go bonkers.

So my rambling point is... IMO it's not worth trying to read anything for continuity purposes since most of it doesn't matter anymore with the New 52, and arguably none of it ever mattered because each one of DC's company wide events had retcon and reboot elements to it. I'd just say read what you want to read or read what got good reviews instead of trying to fit it all in. But since you've already acquired them all, I guess you'll have to determine whether it was worth it or not.

I didn't read any of this because I am a completionist who is obsessively compelled to be completely up-to-date before moving on with a piece of fiction and therefore consider much of this to be spoilers. I am interested in reading them, being out of the comic scene for over a decade, so I won't feel any regret in coming to learn how it all worked out regardless of quality. I know vague elements of what has already happened simply because of circumstantial reading while shopping, but I plan to just read it and then I have read it and it is under my belt forever. While I agree with only experiencing what is good and avoiding the rest simply because of the sheer volume of comics out there, the significance of some stories obviously can't be denied if other authors choose to use them in their own fiction (Snyder respecting the existence of Morrison's Batman arcs, for instance, or more significantly everyone writing Barbara into a wheelchair because of The Killing Joke), and as such I fully intend to read what is being referenced first. It's just the way I feel compelled to experience these things, for better or worse. Thanks for the input, though.

Thank you!

Snagged what I believe was the last copy of the Halo Encyclopedia (hardcover) used for 5.48 plus tax after promo. Insane deal. Checked it to make sure I wasn't seeing things after I placed my order, and it was out of stock.

I need at least 30 more dollars in trade ins to pay off Mario U. Can't seem to find anything worth trading in though ;/. Only need like 2 games, lol.

Ordered SEVERAL dvd box sets...they were all split ordered....gotta love the four that came in a bubble pack bigger than the actual box sets put together. Look at package, I see that the post office put a "was damaged" when we got it sticker on it....open it up...3 of the four boxes look like hell, one smells like cat piss....now...my question is...where does Gohastings get the "used" stuff...is it not processed through a better system...like say amazon? I hope and pray my other 3 items that are coming separate are in better condition than those...but buying used is always a gamble.
That's not a matter of respect, it's a matter of editorial mandate. Did X kill Y? Then everyone has to keep Y dead until an editor says "Yeah okay, resurrect Y." That's why the Bat-titles have at least one if not multiple editors who coordinate things between the Bat titles so writers don't interfere with what others have done. Someone can respect the hell out of whatever Grant Morrison did in "Final Crisis" (of which I have no idea because I only know what happened to Batman), but the current editorial scheme is Final Crisis and the rest of the pre-New 52 doesn't matter, so until there is a change in that policy, people can do whatever they want regardless of what Morrison wrote 4 years ago.

As for spoilers,, its only a spoiler to you since the stuff I mentioned is 6 years old at this point, and I only mentioned the general plot points which have been well publicized in everything from interviews to major media articles. You might want to stay off the internet if you don't want anything from 1985 onward spoiled for you. But you are the one who brought up the change in characters/roles in relation to a story you specifically named, so I'm not sure why or how you would complain about "spoilers."

From my experience, most % off codes do not work on used PS3 sports titles.

When I asked GoHastings support, they responded with a generic reply that some titles are excluded from certain coupon codes. I'm guessing it is a glitch but I don't expect this to be fixed any time soon.

I've found that when certain are excluded from one code, they're excluded from all codes from then on.

man- i love hastings so much i hate it. just when i think i'm out, they pull me back in. grabbed simpsons season 2 and GTA 4 Complete :ps3: for $23.11

I didn't complain, I just did not read it because it is the content of a story, and is therefore a spoiler, and then stated exactly that. I was unhappy I read a page or two into The Black Mirror without knowing it would be so different from the expected storyline (Bruce Wayne as Batman), because I had never heard of Damien before. That would be why I stopped reading it and set out to buy the books prior to it, which I believe is a point I delineated in my first post. My stating that I knew of Damien didn't mean that I was interested in talking about the entirety of DC plot development that lead up to that character's introduction, considering I had just said I bought nearly every book that explains it in hopes of finding out about that on my own.

Not everyone in this thread is combative, dude. Considering I'm one of the five most active users in this thread, and everything I say is positive, I figured you would have realized that by now. I bought some comics, you questioned the validity of my purchases for no particular reason considering I had already purchased them and criticism was therefore totally unhelpful, I validated them because at the time I was interested in talking to you about comics, and then you rolled your eyes at me for not knowing comic history over the last decade which, as I stated, is the period in which I have not read comics. I'm going to read my comics, and I'm going to try to avoid spoilers. Hopefully that's cool with you.

:( Forgot the code ended tonight at midnight central. lol. I'll keep the CDs in the cart in case they do something similar soon.

20 bucks for 20 CDs shipped. Can't beat that.

If you want to make a narrative about he said she said: I asked if the majority of the DC events AND all tie ins from 1985 until today are even all worth reading. You stated you were reading them so you could have the full understanding of DC Comics events under your belt because you seemed to think you needed that to understand the stories you actually want to read, like Black Mirror. I pointed out that wasn't exactly necessary for a variety of reasons. Only then did you say that you just want to read everything with virgin eyes and "spoiler" free. After that, there was a tangent about "respect" vs. "editors demand that this be done this way" and another about what constitutes a "spoiler."

You stated you wanted to read all of these books to "catch up" and "bone up" because you think a lot it it was in play or still is in play. My opinion, or "criticism" of that is - It's comic books. I guarantee you you'll read everything and still miss things or get confused on things because comic book continuity is a joke (that's why they do these big events - to change their own continuity). In terms of the DC New 52, the past continuity doesn't matter at all except for parts of two families of titles. The whole point of the New 52 is to make it accessible without needing to understand past continuity. That's why I made the point about certain Bat-Family members being wiped out of existence (or is stating the absence of something now a spoiler?) - past continuity and the creation of fully fleshed out characters doesn't mean shit to the editors at DC. They're wiping out people and changing others in retcons to fit some kind of vision for the future. That means you can read all that stuff you're going to read, then get to the New 52 and 1) Things you read won't matter in terms of the New 52 and 2) Things STILL won't make sense, especially because they'll conflict with what you've read in the past.

Even on a practical level it just isn't necessary in the world of comic books, and it's a futile endeavor. You're embarking down a rabbit hole of needing to read more and more if you want to truly understand everything, and even then there are going to be continuity conflicts but also entire dead ends and dropped threads. But hey, that's your rabbit hole to go down. I just don't think it will give you the knowledge and understanding you think it will because comic books are notoriously terrible for those kinds of things.

If you want to read everything to say you've read everything - great! I don't care, no criticism of that. If you want to read everything from 1985 onward because you have high hopes its all going to be awesome - great, that's all you, no criticism of that either. But I stand by my opinion on the nature of comic book continuity, and apparently you're going to think otherwise. You've already spent your money on it. Reading all that stuff sounds like its something you're intent on doing. You'll be the ultimate arbiter of whether or not it was worth your time and money and whether whatever you get under your belt was worth it for your endeavor of knowledge and understanding.

And I didn't roll my eyes at you because you didn't know your comic book history, I rolled my eyes at you for your usage of "spoiler." Anything you haven't experienced for yourself is a "spoiler." Life, and the internet are full of them. Guess what? Haven't seen the Sixth Sense? Bruce Willis was dead at the end of Sixth Sense! Holy shit that's actually a line from a comedy skit and song too! SPOILED! Don't know what the view from the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro looks like? Don't show pictures or describe it, that's a spoiler too! Excessive sarcasm in this paragraph? Practically a spoiler for an entire episode of South Park. Snape kills Dumbledore - it's time to leave the internet, and you probably shouldn't turn on your TV either. To quote the Simpsons:

Bob: The greatest murder since Snape killed Dumbledore.
Bart: Oh I haven't gotten to that part yet.
Bob: It's a 4 year old book!
Bart: I'm a slow reader.
Bob: A fitting epitaph... it means last words.
Bob: Are you here to teach me or kill me?
This is a message board known for having discussions from time to time - did you really not think mentioning you're attempting to read everything from 1985 onward or mentioning something about Black Mirror would elicit any response that might "spoil" something for you (despite no shocking spoilers actually being present in any of this discussion) - especially since you didn't immediately put out the unusual request of "Please don't say anything about these books from 1985 onward because if you do, it will be a spoiler to me."?

Because I did not describe or state the "entirety of DC plot development that lead up to that character's [Damian's] introduction" as you claimed. I said NINE words about the most common knowledge of the character. But hey - SPOILERS, I guess.

And for what its worth, after you made your statement about not wanting to know anything because everything is a spoiler to you - I didn't "spoil" anything further for you, even if I disagree with what you define to be a "spoiler."
man wtf the way the title was worded I thought only the books/cds got free shipping i guess this shit ended now, oh well.
There's only so many characters I can put in a title - I try the best with what I have to work with. If a title is unclear, just click through to the first page where I have unlimited characters to work with.
Brightest Day is amazing, if you've never read it before you're in for a treat. Most of my comic reading experience is from Marvel, but I think Brightest Day is one of the best events I've ever read.

Thanks, I'm excited! Christ, Geoff Johns is prolific. I've got all the lead-in Green Lantern books so it's gonna be a pretty big undertaking.

For what it's worth, I just used the tweet code about 3 minutes ago.
too long for quotes
Yes, a spoiler is, effectively, the discovery of a part of a story that is as-yet-unread. I didn't blame you for anything. I just said I didn't read it. You do realize comics are a niche market, don't you? It's difficult for me to spoil comics. I only personally know one person who is capable of spoiling any comic. However, 100% of the people I know can successfully spoil Harry Potter or The Sixth Sense. While it is possible to face potential spoilers in conversation, I don't expect it, especially when I've just addressed that I have bought books with the intention to read them and someone intends to discuss these books knowing in advance I have yet to read them. Your perception of what is a minor spoiler versus what is a major spoiler is irrelevant; the fact of the matter is that the facts you discussed appeared to contain information one would only glean from reading the books I intend to read, and are therefore spoilers. Need we discuss the definition of this word any more deeply? Need I validate my distaste for them any more thoroughly?

Yes, anything I haven't read but intend to read is a spoiler to me until I've read it. That is my problem; I haven't troubled you with it. You don't know what I intend to read, so discuss anything you want - except in this specific case, where you wanted to talk about a storyline I said I had bought with the intention of reading so as to learn about it. I don't like spoilers, I did not become upset with you for discussing spoilers, I simply informed you I had no interest in reading spoilers, which is a notion you apparently feel is foolish. I understand your statement about comics being an infinite rabbit hole of logical failings (the existence of Crisis on Infinite Earths speaks directly to that fact, and probably the existence of other Crises as well), but no matter what I read I am always facing references to shit that has happened decades before. I don't intend to read everything I stumble across as referenced in some other book written ten years later, but it speaks to the fact that comic history is indelible and no amount of rebooting will erase the fact that Superman has died before or Dick Grayson is Nightwing or whatever. Is it so foolish to want to give these facts context?

I just used it too for some games but it didn't give me free shipping. Basically worked the same as the BOO code.

Yeah same here. At 12:13 CT it was giving me a discount but charging shipping. Nothing I needed so just impulse buys.

I am a loser with no life, so I got in on the deal. Life has a way of balancing out, I guess. :)

Awww, i missed the code. I made an order while it was active, but when i checked the thread i thought people were still talking about the BOO code. This thread fills up kinda fast, and the vagueness is a little hard to follow at times (when people say things like "The code", or "This Deal")

Only would have saved $7, so still not too bad. :D Got Orphans: Brawlers bawlers and Bastards for $11 so i'm a happy camper.
